Machine Maintenance and Engineering SOP
Objective: This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlines the procedures and guidelines for the
effective management and maintenance of machines in accordance with engineering department
standards.
Responsibilities:
        * . The Engineering Department is responsible for overseeing and executing the following
       activities.
Procedure:
    1. All Machines Delay Check and Observing Maintenance:
           • Regularly monitor and record any delays or issues in machine operations.
           • Conduct routine checks to observe and identify potential maintenance requirements.
    2. Preventive Maintenance:
          • Implement a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure machines operate efficiently.
          • Document and follow preventive maintenance checklists for each machine.
    3. Year Planned Maintenance:
          • Schedule annual maintenance activities for each machine.
          • Coordinate with relevant departments to minimize disruptions during planned
             maintenance.
    4. Spare Parts Ordering:
          • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of spare parts.
          • Place orders for spare parts in a timely manner to avoid delays in maintenance activities.
    5. Maintaining Spare Parts Inventory:
          • Regularly update and review the spare parts inventory.
          • Implement a first-in-first-out (FIFO) system for spare parts usage.
    6. Energy Saving Projects (Electricity/Steam):
          • Identify opportunities for energy-saving projects.
          • Implement and monitor projects to reduce energy consumption.
    7. New Supportive Machines Design and Fabrication:
          • Collaborate with relevant teams to design and fabricate supportive machines.
          • Ensure the new machines meet safety and operational standards.
    8. Mechanical and Electrical Workshops:
           • Maintain organized and well-equipped mechanical and electrical workshops.
           • Conduct regular safety inspections in workshops.
    9. Used Spare Parts Repairs to Cost Saving and In-House Spare Parts Producing:
          • Evaluate the feasibility of repairing used spare parts.
          • Explore in-house production of spare parts when economically viable.
    10.New Machinery Installation:
          • Plan and execute the installation of new machinery.
          • Ensure installations meet safety and operational guidelines.
11.Working According to the Engineering Department Annual Budget:
          • Adhere to the annual budget allocated to the engineering department.
          • Provide regular financial updates and justification for budgetary needs.
    12.Upgrade Machines to Safety Requirements:
          • Regularly assess machines for compliance with safety standards.
          • Plan and implement upgrades to meet safety requirements.
    13.Document Control:
           • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, installations, and upgrades.
           • Periodically review and update this SOP as needed.
