Time to add details

Lion has 4 toes, so he needs 3 embroiderd
lines, like so. In #221 DMC thread.
If you have never embroidered its
advised praticing first. There are many
youtube videos that explain how to do
simple embroidery.

Eye and nose shapes below:

these will be cut out of felt, the images are not to scale but measurements are included.

You are now going to needle felt/sew/glue the eyes
and nose on. The eyes are placed 2sts aparts. and
the inners corners begin at rnd 6.

The nose should cover the top half of the begining

ring.

If you have not needle felted before it is advised

you practice first.

To get the black outline on the top half of the

eye you carefully needle felt in along the edge
your #310 (black) embroidery thread.

The mouth is a simple embroiderd V useing the

black thread.

Take your chunky yarn and cut 7in strands, you will need a lot. Useing your hook pull the strands half
way threw stitches and tie. Start by framing the face. Pull three strands between the ears. Then continue
down the sides and under the chin.
One you have the face framed you work from the head down doing the same thing. You do not have to tie
a strand in every stitch, every other stitch should be enough. This part will be tediuse so have a good
movie or show ready. For the tail you will only need about 4-6, 4in stands and only need to pull them
threw the very end stitch.

End the mane roughly at the path as

shown, the mane continues halfway
between the front legs. Once you have
finished the mane you will more than likely
need to give it a good trim to achieve the
star shape Lion has and there will be a lot
of fuzz.
Now you can leave it as it or to get it really
fluffy you take your pet brush or a clean
hair bush and thoroughly brush out the
yarn. This part is messy and you will have
to clean out the fuzz from the brush a few
times. Save the fuzz it can be reused as
stuffing.
