Pixie Tadhg

yarn 1 skein Malabrigo worsted & 2 clip on stitch markers


pins a long 5mm circular using magic loop or 5 mm DPNS
finished measurements (unstretched circumference)
baby 30cm toddler 37cm child 42cm
gauge 18sts & 28 rows to 10cm
abbreviations
CO cast on
BO bind off
st stitch
sts stitches
SS stocking Stitch
K2TOG knit two stiches together
PSSO pass slipped stitch over
1x1 rib is knit one purl one

notes
The first section worked is a band of 1x1 rib.
On the first row place a clip on marker on the sts at the
one quarter and three quarter points around the
circumference of the hat as directed. We will be
decreasing sts either side of these marked sts on
alternate (even) rows.

Use whichever cast on method you are comfortable with. I


have used the alternate cable cast on, I think it leaves
a nice clean edge to the ribbing.

If you are knitting this hat for a baby
Knit three rounds with these four sts to make please consider safety when you decide how
an i-cord point. Cut the yarn and pull the long to make the chin ties, or leave them off
tail through these remaining four sts. completely, though they do look rather darn
cute!
