GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ALL CONTESTED EVENTS
1. The Regional Association of Geodetic Engineering Students is the main organizer of all contested
events.
2. All participants must be bona fide undergraduate geodetic engineering students of a University.
3. All Officers and Committee shall be eligible to participate in all socio-cultural events contested
events. Advisers shall be eligible to coach all contested events.
4. The specific guidelines shall always prevail.
5. Zero shall be given in a team in case of default. DEFAULT arises when the participant/s does not
appear once called to perform.
6. All recorded performances must be taken in a presentable location and participants must wear a
clothing where their team color is dominant.
7. A committee shall be created for the sole purpose of deliberating protests and checking of
compliance to the rules and guidelines set forth by the council and therefore shall be called as the
GUIDELINES MONITORING TEAM. All protests shall follow the proper steps and procedures
provided by the GMT.
8. Any violation of the Competition Guidelines shall be subjected to relegation to the last place after
due deliberation of the GMT.
9. All participants must provide School Identification and medical certificates issued by the school
clinic.
10. Social Media policy of the committee should be observed by every student and participants.
11. Participants must adhere to the host university’s PROPER DRESS CODES for male and female.
12. Judges’ decision is FINAL and IRREVOCABLE.

GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS


RAGESC Ambassador & Ambassadress is a wit and beauty inside and out search among the
Geodetic Engineering students across Region II who will serve as the ambassadors of Regional
Association of Geodetic Engineering Students Cagayan Valley Chapter in promoting its objectives,
social responsibility, leadership, and knowledge of Geodetic Engineering in the society.

GENERAL PROVISIONS:

• Must be officially registered in the Regional Association of Geodetic Engineering Students’


Conference (RAGESC) 2024.
• He/She must be a bona-fide BS GEODETIC ENGINEERING STUDENTS for the A.Y. 2023-2024.
• Open to all participating universities in the Regional Association Geodetic Engineering Students’
(RAGES) 2024.
• Each university shall have maximum of two (2) pair (male and female) for each competing schools.
• There shall be four (4) student assistant and one (1) teacher per department. The students and
teacher must come from their respective department.
• The decision of the judges is final, executory, and irrevocable.

• No revealing clothes for both male and female participants

The search for RGESC Ambassador and Ambassadress will have preliminary competition and finals.

RGESC AMBASSADOR & AMBASSADRESS PICTORIAL

 Each Ambassador and Ambassadress participants are required to take a full Body and a close-up
shot wearing departmental shirt.
 Each contestant should choose one instruments in their respective school and use it during the
full body shot pictorial.
 The close-up shot should be in fierce look.
 Each contestant is required to wear a surveying vest.
 Pictorial of each participant should be taken inside the school.
 Deadline for submission will be on March 16, 2025 at 11:59PM in JPEG or PNG format.

PRELIMINARY COMPETITION

A. Production Number & Surveying Attire (20%)
1. Production Number
All contestants shall wear their respective departmental shirts. The competition will start with the
dancers and the contestants having a dance number. After the dance, contestants will go backstage to
prepare for their surveying attire.
- Props are optional
- A vest and a hard hat are required
- The dance steps shall be provided by the host school

2. Introduction and Advocacy
After their showcase, each pair of the contestants shall move forward to the center to give their
introduction and present their advocacy.
- Introduction must include their name, and school but not limited to such information
- Advocacy must include a title with a word limit of 20 words
- Advocacy must be not more than 2 paragraphs and not exceed 5 sentences per paragraph
- Advocacy shall be prepared and must be submitted before the event

Self-Introduction 30%

o The award of Best in Production shall also be based on the criteria (specifically, the choreography)
o The award of Best in Surveying Attire shall be based on the criteria aforementioned

B. Creative Attire (25%)


3. Boyband
After presenting their advocacy, contestants shall be given time to prepare for the Creative Attire. In
the meantime, the Boyband will start.

4. Creative Attire
After the boyband, the creative attire beings. The attire shall be based on the predetermined
civilizations decided on each school.
- ROMAN = University of La Salette Inc.
- CHINESE = University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao
- EGYPTIAN = Northeastern College
- NORSE = Nueva Viscaya State University

Stage Presence 20%
Poise And Bearing 30%

o The award of Best in Creative Attire shall be based on the criteria aforementioned

C. Formal Attire (25%)
5. Lip Sync
After the Creative Attire, contestants shall be given time to prepare for the Formal Attire. In the
meantime, the Lip Sync will start.

6. Formal Attire
After the lip sync, the contestants shall present their formal attires. Each of the contestants, after
showcasing their attire shall stay on the stage for one last viewing and to prepare for the question-
and-answer portion.

o The award of Best in Formal Attire shall be based on the criteria aforementioned

D. Question & Answer Portion (30%)


7. Q&A Portion
Each contestant shall pick a question either from the two (2) separate pool of questions. They shall be
given 1 minute and 30 seconds to answer the question. The timer shall start once the reader is done
reading the question twice.

8. Hip-Hop
After the Q&A Portion, contestants shall be given time to prepare for the Sashing of Special Awards.
In the meantime, the Hip-Hop will start.

FINAL COMPETITION

The 5 Contestants who excelled during the preliminaries are then selected to advance on the final
competition.

The computation for selecting the Top 5 finalists who will advance to final question and answer
portion is:

The final competition comprises of picture analysis.

For Picture Analysis, all scores will be back to zero. The participants will pick a number drawn from the
container, and the organizers will flash the corresponding picture in the screen. The participants will
have a 1 minute and 30 seconds only to answer. The criteria for judging is:

SOCIO-CULTURAL EVENTS

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SOCIO-CULTURAL EVENTS


1. All music that will be used in all the performances should be submitted in Mp3/Mp4 format in the
Google Drive, to be provided, on or before 11:59PM March 16, 2025. The label of the music is
as follows: Team–Event (e.g. NAME OF THE TEAM-EVENT) All in CAPITAL letters.
2. All music pieces must not contain any vulgar words. The music pieces that will be used for singing
events should be minus one only.
3. Participants must wear a clothing where their team color is dominant.
4. If the participants exceeded the time allotted for their performance, two (2) points per minute shall
be deducted to their overall score.
5. Movements with dangerous maneuvers/stunts in the Socio-Cultural events are NOT
ALLOWED.
6. Suggestive movements (Sexual Indicative) are NOT ALLOWED.
7. The use of pyrotechnics, water, vehicles, types of machinery, and animals as props is NOT
ALLOWED.
8. The decision of the Board of Judges and the Guidelines Monitoring Team shall be final,
irrevocable, and executory.

NOTE: All participants should be at the venue before the competition.

BOY BAND
MECHANICS:
1. Each team shall have three (3) student performers.
2. Each team will choose one song of their choice.
3. The Genre of the song should be OPM or POP.
4. Remixing is not allowed.
5. Overall performance should not exceed seven (7) minutes inclusive of preparations, entrances,
and exits.

MECHANICS:
1. Each team shall select one (1) representative open to all genders.
2. Costume reveals are ALLOWED. Cross-dressing is not allowed.
3. The participants shall memorize the lyrics of the song.
4. Each participant shall perform with a song of their choice.
5. The performance shall be three (3) to five (5) minutes only including their entrance and exit.
6. Backup dancers are only limited to (4) participants open to all gender.

HIP-HOP
MECHANICS:
1. This is a dance competition that allows Krump, B-boy, Popping, Wacking, Housing and etc. to be
part of the choreography.
2. Every team should have six (6) to ten (10) dancers open to both male and female.
3. Dangerous maneuvers (e.g. tumbling, backflip, aerials, etc.) are strictly NOT ALLOWED to be
incorporated in the routine.
4. Overall performance shall be three (3) to five (5) minutes only.
5. Mixing of music is ALLOWED; hence, adding of effects is ACCEPTABLE.
6. Only hand-held props are ALLOWED. Use of props as BACKDROP is PROHIBITED.

VISUALS EVENTS
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR VISUAL EVENTS
1. All artworks/ masterpieces must be an original creation and should not be posted in any social
media outlets prior to the release schedule of the main organizing committee.
Artworks/Masterpieces plagiarized and found dubious SHALL be ground for
DISQUALIFICATION.
2. A Google Drive for entry submission and a separate email for Visual Events Committee will be
made. The entries per team must be compiled in one drive. The label of the events is as follows:
(e.g. NAME OF THE TEAM–EVENT)
3. All the submitted entries shall be considered as FINAL entries.

Note: The contending teams should provide all materials, tools and equipment needed.

GEODETIC ENGINEERING PROMOTIONAL VIDEO


MECHANICS:
1. The promotional video must revolve in promoting the GEODETIC ENGINEERING COURSE with
the respective School.
2. Each entry must have minimum of 2 minutes and no maximum.
3. There is no limit to the number of actors and actresses as long as they are bona fide students or faculty
members of their respective University and their respective Department or Schools.
4. Clips must be taken firsthand (STRICTLY NO VIDEOS FROM INTERNET)
5. The setting MUST be within their respective campuses.
6. Dangerous acts such as stunts are NOT ALLOWED.
7. Each team must provide a thumbnail in the format of a 16:9 JPEG file. 8. Submission of
entries will be on or before March 23, 2025 at 11:59 PM.
9. Videos will be uploaded on the social media account of RAGES on the set date by the council.
10. Final project should be in .MP4 or MPEG format.

FLAG MAKING
MECHANICS:
1. Each team should submit flag that will be
in a form of cloth.
2. The design of the flag shall be executed FT
2.5 FT
based on the color of their teams. Content 0.5FTFT CLEAR SPACE
for the flag will showcase the teams’
identity. The flag is to be designed freely
and must show the assigned Imperial
Civilization on it. The baby flag must
contain the logo of per team/school.
3. The flag must contain the logo of per
team/school. 6 FT
4. Size of the mother flag shall be 2.5 feet
by 6 feet. Refer on the given template for
the shape and specifics.
5. The materials to be used on the cloth is
open for the flag.

SPORTS EVENTS
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SPORTS EVENTS
1. Final list of athletes, coaches, including the reserved and/or buffer players for events and assistant
coaches, SHALL be submitted to the RAGES-Sports Coordinator
2. Buffer players for the events SHALL NOT be allowed to play in a rotational method. Reserved players
shall ONLY be allowed to play whenever the actual players are injured before the game starts.
3. Rules on uniform: Players are NOT NECESSARILY required to have an official uniform but must
wear shirts with color pertaining to their team.
4. Players SHALL present their identification cards and medical certificates to the chief umpire for the
major events and game in-charge for minor events, five (5) minutes before the start of their respective
games.
5. Addition of listed players in their respective events before or during games would mean
disqualification.
6. First, second and last call shall be announced in 15, 10, and 5 minutes respectively before the game
starts. Failure of the team to appear within the set time shall mean declaration of winner by default for
the present team. In case both teams failed to appear, the game shall be nullified. Zero points shall be
given to both teams.
7. Schedule of events shall follow the Single Elimination.
8. The generally accepted rules of the games shall be applied as determined by the respective umpire/s
or game official/s-in-charge.
9. All players are REQUIRED to take the Oath of Amateurism with integrity, respect, and
sincerity.
10. Umpires decisions on technical matters are final and irrevocable.
11. Specific guidelines, rules and requirements of sports events shall be followed by all participants
(athletes, advisers, and coaches).
