This Standard applies to men's suits consisting of a jacket and trousers or bib-and-brace
overalls, used as coveralls for protecting workers of various industries from general industrial
pollution and mechanical effects.

1. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
1.1. Suits shall be produced according to the requirements of this Standard, the industrial
methods of producing coveralls, the Unified Industrial Collection of models of men's suits for
protection against general industrial pollution and mechanical effects, the standard samples
and the model descriptions approved in accordance with the established procedure.
1.2. Key par amet ers and sizes
1.2.1. Sizes of suits shall correspond to the height and chest circumference values of the
standard human figure specified in tables 1 and 2.

1.2.2. The measurement values of finished suits shall meet those specified in table 3 and in
figures 1 to 4.

1.3. Charact er ist ics


1.3.1. The design of suits shall comply with the effective base designs of men's coveralls.
1.3.2. Suits may be manufactured according to models not stipulated by the United
Industrial Collection of models of men's suits at the customer's request and by agreement with
the appropriate Trade Union Central Committee.
1.3.3. Depending on manufacturing conditions and by agreement between the
manufacturer and the customer, suits of the following modifications may be produced:
with or without various types, dimensions, quantity and location of reinforcing patch
pieces and air holes;
complete with an additional trouser belt made from the basic fabric;
complete with headgear;
as separate articles.
1.3.4. Suits shall be produced from the materials listed in table 4.

Notes:
1. By agreement of the manufacturer with the customer and the Central Committee of the appropriate Trade
Union, materials and other accessories not inferior in quality to those specified in table 4 may be used.
2. Accessories shall be resistant to dry-cleaning and heat treatment.
3. The materials listed in clauses 20 and 21 shall be used for manufacturing suits until 01.01.91.
1.3.5. When manufacturing suits, basic material or ribbon shall be used for finishing the
upper edges of pockets and for hangers; basic material or corsage tape shall be used for lining
waistband of trousers or bib-and-brace overalls.
1.3.6. The classification and types of stitches, stitch-lines and seams employed in
manufacturing suits shall comply with GOST 12807-79.
The requirements for stitches, stitch-lines and seams shall comply with GOST 12.4.116-
82.
1.3.7. Definition of grades of finished suits shall comply with GOST 12.4.031-84.

1.4. Marking
The marking of suits shall comply with GOST 10581-82 and GOST 12.4.115-82; the
marking of suits made by State Order shall comply with GOST 19159-85.
1.5. Packing
The packing of suits shall comply with GOST 10581-82; the packing of suits made by
State Order shall comply with GOST 19159-85.

2. ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURES
Acceptance procedures of suits shall comply with GOST 23948-80.

3. QUALITY MONITORING METHODS


Monitoring the quality of suits shall comply with GOST 4103-82.

4. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE


The transportation and storage of suits shall comply with GOST 10581-82 and with GOST
19159-85 for suits made by State Order.

5. USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Dry-cleaning of suits shall comply with GOST 12.4.169-85.
