Salida

Last year Yarnissima introduced me to the patterns with traveling stitches with
her free pattern “Firestarter” I like the twisted patterns so much I was looking
for more inspiration. So I bought the little books “Uberlieferte Strickmunster aus
dem Steirischen Enstall” by Maria Erlbacher. Lots of traditional patterns, easy
knitted or real complex are collected in these 3 volumes. The delicate and subtle
look of the patterns invited me to design Salida.

A tiny cable and a little ladder will form a delicate border around the decorative
panel filled with eyes, cables and knot work. I recommend using a solid, natural
color or a semi-solid yarn for this pair of socks to show this detailed sock at
best.

Salida is designed for size EU (37/38) 39/40, Woman US (6-7.5) 8-9. It is knitted
over (62) 66 stitches on a circular needle using magic loop. The traveling
stitches combined with a rib make a snug fitting sock. Compared to a plain
stockinette stitch sock knitted on similar yarn and needles, you will need about
10% extra stitches for a good fit.

The pattern can easily be adjusted for larger sizes by adding an extra column of
ktbl and p on the beginning and ending of a needle. This is a suggestion, not
noted in the pattern or chart.
Knitting twisted stitches is a piece of cake using the cabling without a cable
