Special Techniques
Rnd nB
When working a rnd in the back loops only, you must leave free front loops available to
work with a future rnd. This future rnd connected to these free loops will be called B, to
distinguish it from the previously worked rnd named by a single number--for example,
rnd 20 (worked in rnd 19 back loops only) and rnd 20B (worked in rnd 19 front loops
only).
BLO or FLO
When they appear at the beginning of a rnd, the whole rnd will be worked BLO or FLO.
If in a rnd a concrete number of sts are worked BLO or FLO, these sts will appear
between parentheses, for example: Rnd 20: BLO (20 sc), 20 sc [40]
Stuffing

How well you stuff each piece will determine the final look of the piece. I recommend
using polyester stuffing or eco-friendly fiber fill. Stuff each piece by putting in small
amounts of stuffing each time until you get to the end of the piece. Stuff as you go. It is
usually more difficult to add stuffing after the piece is finished. I also recommend
stuffing each piece firmly, this will help the doll to stand on its own.

Doll’s right and left sides

The pattern considers the right and left sides of the doll as the crocheter’s right and left
body sides.
