THE REQUIRED MATERIALS:


DK weight yarn - Alize Cotton Gold {55% cotton/45% acrylic; 100 g/330m)

• Alize Cotton Gold No. 152, 62 (melange, white) - candle holders, candles
• Alize Cotton Gold No. 60, 187 (black, light yellow) - candle wick and flame
• 2.25 mm and 1.25 mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Stitch markers (a scrap of contrasting yarn)
• Thick cardboard for the saucer, candles, and the third candle holder.

• Wire for the handles of the candle holders - the length of three handles is 14
cm (5.5 inches)
• Pliers
• Adhesive tape for securing the wireframe
• Glue

NOTE! Yarn consumption, size, and appearance of the toy depend on


crochet density and how you hold the yarn.
The presented toy is crocheted with V and X look single crochet:
(First, you grab yarn over the hook, and for making the second stitch
grab it under the hook).
You may use any desirable crochet method.
The height of the candle holders without the flame using the materials
stated in this pattern is N9, 15, and 16 cm (3.5, 6, and 6.3 inches).

Make sure you crochet tight enough otherwise, the stuffing will show
through the holes.

You may use any different yarn brand and color.

SAUCER (make 2)

Break yarn. Pull the central yarn tail into the right side.
Crochet the second part similarly - including the 15th round.
Trace around the second circle on the cardboard and cut it out. Iron the parts
with the steam through a damp cloth.

Put two parts together: the first part is on the bottom and the second part
is on the top. The right side is facing the wrong part. Insert the cardboard
template between the parts.

Crochet through both loops around -112 sc, 1 sl st.

Hide the yarn tail inside the saucer and cut the excess yarn.

Tighten the hole, grabbing 8 front loops with a tapestry needle.

Trace around the part on the cardboard and cut it out. Insert the template
inside and stuff it with fiberfill.

The candle should be even. Roll it on the table like a "sausage", so that the
fiberfill is evenly distributed.
Insert the candle into the candle holder, and make sure it does not tilt.
Complete stuffing or remove extra fiberfill if needed.
The upper part of the candle should be stuffed gently. The top should be
even.

Attach the upper part to the bottom part and crochet 48 sc through both
loops around.

Break yarn, leaving a tail 1.5 meters (60 inches) long.


Do not pull the yarn tail and crochet the wax edges.

To do this, chain 10. Start crocheting in the second chain from hook - .(1
HOC in 1 stitch), 1 sc, 7 sl st, 1 sl st in the stitch on the candle.
Pull the yarn tail, thread the needle, and pierce the needle into the
direction of the next chain.
Make a loop through the upper row of the candle and chain.

* There is no definite sequence for the the wax edge alternation or length.
Adjust the number and length of chaiins to your taste.
The only rule is, after making the chain and starting crocheting in the
second chain from the hook on the other side of the chain, first work (3 HOC
in 1 stitch}, 1 sc and then continue crocheting (sl st - slip stitches} to the
remaining stitches to the end of the chain + 1 sl st in the stitch on the candle.
Start making the next chain using a tapestry needle.

Once all chains are finished - pin them to the candle and sew with the yarn
tail or glue them.

FLAME
YARN -Alize Cotton Gold No. 01 - (cream). 1.25 mm crochet hook.
Before starting, cut the yarn strand 2 meters (80 inches) long and split it
into two strands.

Hide the yarn tail inside the flame and cut the excess yarn.

Split black yarn into four threads and embroider stitches on both sides of
the part.

Draw the yarn to the bottom of the part. Tie the tails into a knot, leaving a
long tail for wrapping around the wireframe.

Prepare glue and wire 4-5 cm (1.5 - 2.0 inches) long.

Insert the wireframe into the flame and wrap around it with the yarn.
Secure the yarn tail with a drop of glue.

HANDLE
(Suitable for the 1 st and 2 nd candle holders)

YARN -Alize Cotton Gold No. 152 (melange). 2.25 mm crochet hook.
Rnd 1: 7 into MR
Rnds 2-13: 7 sc (12 rounds)
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail.
Prepare the wireframe in the length of the crocheted part - 4 cm (1.6
inches).
Wrap around the entire wireframe with adhesive tape.

Insert the wireframe into the part. Tighten the hole, grabbing 7 front loops
with a tapestry needle.
Do not cut the excess yarn, leaving it for sewing. Bend the handle.

ASSEMBLY
1. Pin the handle to the candle holder and sew it with the yarn tail. Hide the
tail.

2. Pin the candle holder in the center of the saucer and sew it with the yarn
tail. Hide the tail.

3. Insert the candle into the candle holder.


4. Insert the flame in the center of the candle.

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail about - 1,5 meters (60 inches) long.
Make the wax edges as guided on pages 9-10.

Pin all chains to the candle and sew them. You may glue the wax edges.

HANDLE
Crochet the candle holder handle as guided on pages 12-13 of the pattern.

FLAME
Crochet the flame as guided on pages 10-12 of the pattern.

ASSEMBLY
1. Pin the handle to the candle holder and sew it.

2. Insert the cardboard template into the stick of the candle holder and
stuff it with fiberfill.
Pin the stick to the bottom part of the candle holder and sew it. Do not cut
the excess yarn and draw the tail to the bottom of the stick.

3. Pin the candle holder to the center of the saucer and sew it. Hide the
yarn tail inside the saucer.

4. Insert the candle into the candle holder.
5. Insert the flame in the canter of the candle.

The second candle holder is finished!
