Abstract.
Drainage System
Aqua plumbing company limited is a company which helps in the installation of appliances and
its repaires.it has an experience of more than 45 years since it starte.it has worked in many estate
including Cyton Real estate. It has helped in the control of many diseases like cholera, typhoid
and other waterborne diseases. It also controls the contamination of clean water and waste in
water drainages. While on site I carried out some investigation which include; how to separate
clean water pipes and drainage pipes, how to install a full set of an Asian toilet, how manhole is
made.
The objective of the study was to outline how drainage water can be treated and reused.
CHAPTER ONE
Introduction
The proposed project is drainage system. The drainage system is made up so as to make work
easier and even symbol and also save time. Drainage main work is to collect waste from houses
and pass the waste from the houses to the sewer lines for disposal. Drainage system also help to
reduce smell and collect running water thus making the environment suitable and safe for both
animals and human beings.
1.1 statement of the project
In the current situation you will find out that there is no enough space to dig a septic tank that
can carry or hold waste for an estate of more than 5,000 people living in their because they will
be using a lot of water which will mix with wastes and look for a place to go if the hole which
was dug is full. When a drainage system is well kept it saves human beings from diseases got
when walking on dirty water with bare foot. These diseases include cholera and bilharzia.
1.2 Aims of the project
The main aim of the project is to control the spread of diseases and also make work easier
example kitchen waste can be disposed through drainage pipes rather than being carried by
someone to be disposed which at times maybe tiresome.
1.3 Financial constraints
It was difficult to get finances to facilitate my project to a completion. Some of the tools and
equipment were not in the nearby workshop and were to be purchased externally which needed
more funding. Manpower was also needed in order to help in the laying down of pipes into the
ground from estate to estate to the dumping site. They too needed cash for the work to be done
effectively.
1.4 Availability of materials
Most of the materials needed were readily available except for some few which were not
available locally hence needed importation from external shops.
1.5 Equipment used
Most of the equipment used were bought from the shops that were near and others from shops
that were far.it took me some time to finish my project due to the equipment that were not
readily available. Some of the tools used were like floor trap and boss connector.
1.6 Scope of the project
The project will cover the following areas; materials and equipment used, procedure of cutting
prc pipes, construction of manholes in the estate and also safety precautions during working
hours in the cause you are connecting the pipes using tangit the fire jumps in the tangit when
expanding the pipes using fire.

CHAPTER TWO

2.0 Literature review

2.1 Background information
The design of the project is a drainage system and the material which were used in the making of
the prc pipes are plastics which are burned and are turned into a white prc pipe.

2.3 Advantages of the project

 It helps in making work easier
 It saves time
 It does not need a lot of space when laying the pipes
CHAPTER THREE

3.0 Introduction
I carried out the project in two major steps
I. Project design ideas
II. Research of the problems observed and how some diseases can be controlled through my
system of the research
3.1 Research of existing design
I used the internet to research on different design of drainage system so as to come up with my
project.

3.2 Types of materials used in drainage system

 Prc pipes 4 inch 110mm, finished size 16fts remarks good
 Prc bend 4inch 110mm
 Tangit 2 bakets 1 liter each
 Manhole cover weight 113kg.size 22

3.4 Joining method

I used several methods to join the pipes;
i. Joined the pipes using tangit
ii. I expanded some pipes when I heated them on fire so that they could fix each other
iii. I used joints such as prc elbows and prc 4-inch bends

3.5 safety precautions taken in preparation of drainage system

 Wearing of protective clothes when doing work
 Sharpening cutting tools before and after they are used
 Clean tools after use
 Put cutting tools in their appropriate place to avoid accidents

4.1 Findings
Drainage system helps to keep our environment clean and also it reduces the risk of getting
diseases caused by wastes
It also saves time
It easier to clean one part of a particular given area because there are manholes and floor trap.

4.2 CONCLUTION
There is need for effective drainage system because this education knowledge and practices
helps to save our environment
Drainage system helps to keep the health of human being safe from diseases.

CHAPTER 5
5.0 Conclusion
There is need for effective drainage system because this education knowledge and practices
helps to save our environment.
Drainage system helps to keep the health of human being safe rom diseases
