=============================================================================== =============================================================================== 05.) STATUS CHANGES - G0500 =============================================================================== =============================================================================== THIS SECTION IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Certain buffs can only be cast by captured monsters (like Enwater, for example), and until I find out an enemy capable of casting Bravera, or Faithra, those buffs (and debuffs) won't make it to the list. The game features 13 buffs (positive status changes) and 14 debuffs (negative status ailments), which I have confirmed to exist in the game. Buffs are: Bravery, Faith, Haste, Protect, Shell, Vigilance, Veil, Enfire, Enfrost, Enthunder, Enwind, Regen, Reraise. Debuffs are: Debrave, Pain, Defaith, Fog, Slow, Daze, Deprotect, Deshell, Curse, Poison, Dispel, Imperil, Doom (enemy only), Wound Damage. You can have up to 8 buffs and/or debuffs applied to one target at once. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=ABBREVIATIONS IN STATUS CHARTS -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=STATUS - name of status EFF - effects of status change/ailment CUR - how can the status change/ailment be removed PRE - equipment that prevents the status change/ailment INF - magic and equipment that bestows the status change/ailment -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=POSITIVE STATUS CHANGES [BUFFS] -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=BRAVERY EFF | Increases target's STR by ??% for a period of time, increasing | physical damage done to enemies. he's the main antagonist of the game. ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------ACTIVE TIME BATTLE TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------In lower left corner of battle screen you have the following: a) ATB gauge which has 6 segments - the maximum amount. All other characters and monsters start with three ATB segments. b) List of commands. Currently you only have three: - Auto-battle will have AI choose the most appropriate action. - Abilities lets you choose commands you want to use. - Items lets you use available battle items. ATBG slowly fills from left to right. Once it is full, your leader will execute inputted commands in the order listed above the ATBG. Most commands cost one segment of ATBG, though you will also access commands which take 2, 3 or all segments of ATBG. Once you choose Auto-battle, you will have to choose the target you want to attack. Currently there's only one enemy, so choose its name and let it rip. If you choose Abilities, you can then choose which commands you want your chr to execute. Each command is added to ATBG, and you can add as many commands as there are available segments. Greyed out commands cannot be added to ATBG. Once you've selected your commands, the game will provide you with a list of possible targets. There's only one enemy, so choose its name and let it rip. Maximum amount of segments you can obtain is six. Two are obtained by upgrading Crystarium nodes, and one is obtained by purchasing chr's weapon with [ATB+1] passive ability. In a) b) c) lower right corner of battle screen you have several pieces of info: Chr's name Chr's current HP (if it drops to zero, chr is KOed) A green bar representing ratio of chr's current to MAX HP

There are a couple of variations of how can enemies forbid or inhibit your movement. - knock your chr to the ground, after which he/she will stand up - launch your chr in the air, then he/she comes crashing down, and will stand up after a few seconds - Daze status prevents your chr from moving, and causes next attack received to inflict greater damage - Fog status prevents your chr from using attacks of magical nature - Pain status prevents your chr from using attacks of physical nature - when hit, your chr will often stagger a little, but not enough to be knocked on the ground -------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! -------------------------------Lightning faces off VS Bahamut. Advancing the game will add nine more submenus for a total of 14 entries - however, I'll include them now (but the explanations will come when required!). a) c) c) d) e) f) g) h) i) j) k) l) m) n) PARTY PARADIGMS (edit paradigms and your paradigm pack) CRYSTARIUM (enhance character parameters and gain new abilities) MONSTERS (adorn, name, infuse, or release members of captured monsters) EQUIPMENT (select weapons and accessories worn by your chrs) CHANGE LEADER (switch between Serah and Noel as leading protagonist) STATUS (view detailed chr status info) INVENTORY (view and sort items, weapons, accessories, etc.) DATALOG (view various info on areas, chrs, terms, enemies, etc.) BESTIARY (view info about monsters you have defeated) FRAGMENTS (view the shards of time that you have collected) FRAGMENT SKILLS (view your fragment skills and their effects) MAP (view the map of current area) COSTUMES (change the appearance of Serah and Noel) SETTINGS (change various options)
Both Serah's and Noel's starting roles are Commando, Ravager and Sentinel. Your prearranged paradigms are: COM/COM, RAV/COM, COM/SEN, SEN/SEN. The enemies you face are no threat so destroy them with extreme prejudice! ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------LIBRA SCREEN TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------By pressing R1 you can access Libra screen of all enemies you're fighting and haven't been defeated yet. The screen is setup like this: a) Top left corner has: - Enemy's name - Enemy's current / MAX HP (by reducing current HP to zero enemy is KOed) b) Upper right corner lists negative statuses enemy is immune to. From left to right you have: - Deprotect (take more physical damage) - Deshell (take more magical damage) - Slow (enemy's ATBG fills 50% slower) - Poison (continuous damage over time) - Imperil (fire, water, thunder and ice resistances down by 1 rank) - Curse (enemy's attacks interrupted easier, own attacks interrupted harder) - Pain (cannot use physical abilities) - Fog (cannot use magical abilities) - Daze (cannot move, receive double damage from next attack) - Provoke (cannot be provoked by SEN) - Dispel (remove the latest buff/debuff applied [rightmost one]) c) On left side of the screen you have the following: - CHAIN RESISTANCE (how resilient the enemy is against chaining) - STAGGER POINT (amount of Stagger you must inflict before enemy staggers) - COMMON DROP is item which is dropped most of time - RARE DROP is item which is rarely dropped d) On right side of the screen you have enemy's vulnerabilities to four elements, as well as physical and magical attacks. There are six types of affinities the enemy can sport and they are: a) WHITE - none (takes full damage of the attack) b) BLUE - weakness (takes double damage from such attack) c) YELLOW - half (takes 50% less damage from such attack) d) ORANGE - resistant (damage from such attack is reduced by 90%) e) RED - immunity (takes no damage from such attack [word GUARD appears]) f) PURPLE - absorption (attack heals enemy - 30% of the usual damage) recovery) e) On bottom of the screen you have four lines of enemy information, which may provide hints as to how to battle the enemy efficiently, or warn you of enemy's special abilities. Whenever you press R1 and you access Libra screen of the enemy you haven't fought yet, everything will be filled with question marks. You need to fight this enemy a couple of times before the entries fill up with relevant information. Alternatively you can use Libra Scope item which scans all enemies in battle and reveals all info. -------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! -------------------------------In the main menu new entries have been added: Equipment, Status and Bestiary. ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------ATTACK CHAIN TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------Now let's talk about chain and Stagger. a) By continuously attacking the enemy, thus chaining the attacks together, you're increasing enemy's Chain gauge (evident by yellow bar being filled from left to right). b) Physical attacks add little % to CG, but they also cause CG to decrease slowly, allowing you ample time to chain together next series of attacks. c) Magical attacks add a lot of % to CG, but they also cause CG to decrease
And here are options in Settings menu. - 1st option is CAMERA. rapidly, not allowing you to string together attacks easily. d) Every enemy in the game has its own CG and it starts at 100% once battle commences. e) Once you add enough % to enemy's CG, that enemy enters STAGGER STATE. For example, an enemy you fight has CG of 300%. When battle starts, its CG begins at 100%. This means that you have to keep chaining attacks together for so long until you accumulate additional 200% towards enemy's CG. f) In Stagger the enemy is extremely vulnerable, more susceptible to status changes, takes much more damage from attacks, and cannot respond well to your attacks. Additionally, sometimes attack and/or status affinities may change in Stagger. g) Once the enemy is Staggered, bonus 100% is added to CG. In aforementioned case, CG would become 400%. h) Maximum value CG can reach is 999,9%. i) % on the CG has another effect. All of your attacks will inflict higher damage affected by the amount displayed on CG. In aforementioned case, your attacks would inflict 4x greater damage than usual. j) Once the enemy is Staggered, its CG will start to slowly deplete from right to left. Until the bar is completely gone, all additional attacks by you will keep adding % to CG. Once the bar is empty, enemy's CG returns to 100% and you have to Stagger it again. -------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! -------------------------------There is a big commotion on the beach, so run into few enemies roaming around to get to know them better in the afterlife. ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------PARADIGM SYSTEM TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------Your chrs have roles assigned to them and they are as follows: a) ATTACKER / COMMANDO - excels at physical combat b) BLASTER / RAVAGER - excels at magical combat c) DEFENDER / SENTINEL - draws enemy's attention and acts as a tank d) JAMMER / SABOTEUR - pesters enemies with negative statuses e) ENHANCER / SYNERGIST - protects the party with positive statuses f) HEALER / MEDIC - excels at healing the party and reviving KOed allies In lower portion of the screen you have two additions: a) PARADIGM can be accessed by pressing L1. What does it do? It allows you to change chrs' roles in battle on the fly by choosing one of predetermined setups (you can have a maximum of six setups). b) Between chr's name and numerical HP display you'll see a shortened name for chr's role - COM for Commando, RAV for Ravager and so forth. You can assign characters the most effective roles for a given situation by changing your party's paradigm. You can switch between paradigms as often as you like. Each paradigm assigns specific roles to the members of your party. These roles define the spells and abilities available to a party member, as well as their general behavior in combat. There's a wide variety of paradigms to choose from. Offensive paradigms concentrate on dealing damage to enemies, while defensive paradigms focus on party protection and healing. It is very important to shift paradigms to suit your situation. You can press left analog to scan the paradigms available and see the list of roles that each comprises. For example, the paradigm Relentless Assault is an offensive paradigm in which multiple attackers coordinate their efforts. The paradigm's two Ravagers target whichever enemy Commando attacks, with the goal of quickly filling the enemy's chaing gauge in order to stagger it. If you wish to continue using the Relentless Assault paradigm, press Circle to close the paradigm deck. If you wish to change paradigms, select a new paradigm with left analog and then press X.
-------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! -------------------------------Once you clear the beach completely, there will be some scenes. Afterwards follow Noel towards N and talk to him for LT. ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------MOG CLOCK (ENCOUNTER) TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------When not in battle mode, a minimap is displayed in upper right corner. While prancing around, enemies will randomly spawn next to you and Mog Clock will pop below your protagonist. Enemies are also marked on minimap as red dots. Mog Clock comprises of two segments, green and yellow. While the counter is still green, the spawned enemies are unable to move, and you can easily secure Preemptive Strike by hitting them with chr's weapon. However, if the counter enters yellow zone, the enemies begin to move and wil try to engage battle with your chrs. If they manage to touch you, battle initiates with no advantage for either side. If MC runs out while you're still in enemy's field of encounter, battle starts as well - you will also be unable to restart the battle. If you secure the PS, a few of the enemies will get 20% bonus to their Stagger Gauges, and the party begins the battle with Haste buff in effect. Few more pointers for battles! - After the battle is won, you get: a) items, which are dropped by enemies (there's no Steal command) b) CP, which are used to purchase upgrade nodes in Crystarium c) Gil, which is dropped by enemies (huge improvement over FFXIII) - After battle is won, you will be given a star ranking. Star rank depends on: TARGET TIME - time alloted for taking out all enemies BATTLE DURATION - how quickly you defeated all enemies ENEMY POINTS - self-explanatory PREEMPTIVE BONUS - self-explanatory Points awarded depend on how quickly you took out the enemies, damage incurred/taken, and some other factors. - Star ranking has two uses: a) beating last boss with five stars gives you a trophy b) it influences drop rate of spoils obtained after battle - Your HP is completely recovered after each battle. - There are only three chrs' stats - HP, STR, and MAG. - There are only two types of equipment - weapons and accessories. - You can store a maximum of 999999 CP, the rest is then wasted. - If your leader is KOed, the game switches over to Noel/Serah. But if both protagonists are KOed, then the game is over. Choose top option to restart the battle by being returned to the map just before entering the battle. If you choose bottom option, you will be returned to title screen. - If the battle at hand proves too tough, simply grind out for CP. You're not restricted by some silly Crystarium levels, like in FFXIII. -------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! ----------------------------------------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------ITEM USAGE TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------When in a pinch, items can save your day. Items can be used instantly, and using items does not affect ATBG in any way. Some items are used on all party members, and some can be used only on one. Choosing Item command will bring up a list of available battle items. Choose the one you need at the moment and then select who you want to use it on. AI can assist you by automatically putting the cursor on the one that needs it the most.

YOU ARE SERAHTORIOUS! ------------------AF003 NEW BODHUM FRAGMENT - Gogmagog Fragment Alpha (01/04) obtained! There's a total of 160 frags in the game - some are very easy to obtain, some are very hard or annoying (say hi to casino for me). Collecting all of them is required for secret ending. New entry has been added to main menu - Fragments. Follow Noel to the fallen meteor, open two TBs for 300 gil and 2x Gysahl Greens, then examine the meteor... Serah wakes up in a new day inside NORA's, with a couple of new additions to main menu - Party Paradigms and Crystarium. ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------CRYSTARIUM TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------The members of your party can now develop their powers, learning new abilities, or improving attributes such as Strength, Magic, and HP. Crystarium is chr's and monster's growth chart, on which you can buy various upgrade nodes. When it comes to Noel and Serah, you can purchase nodes by expending CP, which are obtained by winning battles. CP cost is small at start - only 100CP per node. But as you progress over the Crystarium, the cost for purchasing nodes increases every so often to a staggering amount of 3000+CP per node. Each node awards you a bonus to HP and/or STR and/or MAG. If your chosen role reaches an appropriate level upon purchasing a node, that role will also learn an ability. Both Serah and Noel learn only a limited amount of skills per role. And ability XYZ on Serah's Ravager role may not be at Noel's Ravager role at all. To give an example, only monsters can come with Haste spell.
Whenever you want to level up using Crystarium, you need to choose a role you want to develop. Serah's roles are COM lv2, RAV lv1, and SEN lv2. Choose to develop COM for 100CP - the next node will light up and you get a small bonus to HP and ATK, and COM is now lv3. The cost for next node increases to 120CP, and next node is bigger than the one we just purchased. Choose to develop RAV next to lv2 - expend 120CP and receive a small bonus to HP, as well as learn new ability for RAV. However, there's an additional bonus of +2 to MAG because you leveled up a role on a bigger node. Basically, depending on the role you level up when reaching bigger node, you receive a small bonus afterwards: - COM gives you additional +2 to ATK - RAV gives you additional +2 to MAG - SEN gives you additional +6 to HP - SAB gives you additional +2 to ATK (even level) OR +2 to MAG (odd level) - SYN gives you additional +6 to HP (even level) OR +2 to MAG (odd level) - MED gives you additional +6 to HP Next, once you're around the Crystarium grid, it levels up and you're offered up to six of the following bonuses (you can choose only one): - additional bar to ATBG (up to twice) - special battle ability (after purchasing both ATB bars) - +20 capacity to equipping accessories (up to twice) - +10 capacity to equipping accessories (after purchasing both +20 capacities) - unlock MED role - unlock SAB role - unlock SYN role - COM Bonus Boost (making it more effective) - COM Bonus Boost II (making it even more effective) - RAV Bonus Boost (making it more effective) - RAV Bonus Boost II (making it even more effective) - SEN Bonus Boost (making it more effective) - SEN Bonus Boost II (making it even more effective) - SAB Bonus Boost (making it more effective) - SAB Bonus Boost II (making it even more effective) - SYN Bonus Boost (making it more effective) - SYN Bonus Boost II (making it even more effective) - MED Bonus Boost (making it more effective) - MED Bonus Boost II (making it even more effective) However, to level up monsters, you need to feed them various monster materials, obtained from battles and other means. Each time you use a required amount of items to purchase a node, monster's HP, STR and MAG will increase. Also, each item bears a small additional boost to certain stat - that can be STR, MAG, HP or all three at once. Monster materials have grades, and the required grade of material increases as you level up monsters in Crystarium. Once you're around the Crystarium grid for a monster, it levels up and you're offered one of the following bonuses: - additional bar to ATBG (up to twice) - monster's role level up 1 (making it more effective) - monster's role level up 2 (making it even more effective) Serah and Noel can reach lv99 in any of the six roles they have available. But monsters are a different story - not all of them can reach lv99, and they only have one role at any given time. For example, Pulsework Soldier's role will always be SEN. Abilities can only be used when in the corresponding role, but attribute bonuses like +4 to MAG apply across all roles. -------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! -------------------------------Here's how I chose my roles and level up bonuses. SERAH: On bigger nodes I leveled RAV for extra MAG. At Crystarium level ups I chose RAV Bonus Boost, RAV Bonus Boost II, Unlock SAB role, Unlock MED role,

If you make poor choices, you'll get something crappy as a Potion. However, LTs have no effect on the overall story at all. Talk to Lebreau for LT, and then head outside. ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------MOOGLE HUNTER TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------Whenever an important item or whatever else is nearby, Moogle's bobble will light up, alerting you to it. So just follow the furball and press X (in some cases R1 is required). However, there are several concealed treasures which have a ring around them. While you're able to see these, you cannot uncover them just yet. You have to progress further in the story to unlock SP version of Moogle Hunter. -------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! -------------------------------Go S and Moogle's bobble lights up - he darts over to some cat, so talk to it. Cat tries to escape, but Moogle keeps up just fine, so follow him to SW corner and talk to the cat again for LT, then Noel for LT. Also in SW corner are remains of the house where some vegetables are being grown - examine those for LT. A bunch of kids have gathered nearby and they appear chat with them for LT. There are four things you can do in Monster menu: - add decorative items on the monster (serves no purpose whatsoever) - rename the monster (serves no purpose as well) - infuse the monster with other monsters (this is what I'm talking about) - release the monster You'll likely spend a lot of time in Infusion submenu, trying to make that perfect monster. Let me give you an example of how you can improve your favorite monster. - You have a lv40 Flanitor, MED, 4000 HP, 250 MAG. - You want to increase Flanitor's HP. - Go to Flanitor's Infusion submenu and look for a monster with passive ability HP+15% or similar. - Infuse Flanitor with selected monster and Flanitor's HP will increase. A monster learns battle/passive abilities as you level up its Crystarium by having the monster reach certain level. For example, the monster gets HP+10% passive ability upon reaching lv10, and can cast Haste upon reaching lv20. Single monster can have up to 10 passive abilities at any given time. -------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! -------------------------------At this point I went back to AF003 New Bodhum and captured Pulsework Soldier. Its SEN role kept me cruising for a bruising all the way to the end of the game. For other alternative you can capture Pulsework Knight - though it's max is lv20, it learns Mediguard, a very useful SEN ability which recovers HP while SEN is guarding. For MED I kept Cait Sith (increase its lv a few times so it learns Esuna), which was later replaced by Flanitor. And for COM I have Meonekton, which is later replaced by Kichu, a special Ochu monster found in Archylte Steppe which we shall visit in near future. ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------PARADIGM PACK TUTORIAL ---------------------------------- TUTORIAL! ---------------------------------Upon entering Paradigm Pack menu, you're greeted with following choices. - 1st allows you to add captured monsters to one of the three slots. - 2nd allows you create paradigms as you see fit by choosing roles for Serah and Noel. Monster can only have one role, and it cannot be changed. Pressing Square on chosen paradigm will make it a default paradigm, meaning that you begin the battles with that paradigm. Pressing Triangle allows you to save your paradigm selections in one of three slots (which can later be loaded via Triangle again).*1 - 3rd allows you to auto-create paradigms based on preference of attacking power, defensive positioning or well-balanced. - 4th allows you to delete paradigms (default paradigm cannot be deleted). *1 note: By choosing Tune option you can select how your party members behave in chosen paradigm. Will everyone focus on leader's target? Or will each member choose his/her/its own target? It's up to you to decide. -------------------------------- TUTORIAL END! -------------------------------Proceed up next set of stairs, get scared by giant hand and turn left to find an orange warp gate near lots of pillars (this is best way to describe locations of warp gates). Examine it for LT, then follow Moogle to its glowing bobble position and talk to nearby soldier. You gain Moogle Hunt ability! When you find an invisible TB, TC or something else floating in the air, but still barely visible, press R1 in its vicinity to have Moogle reveal it, allowing you to claim it for yourself. There's Chocolina's shop nearby (she will often times be in your way, allowing you for easy access to her shop, so that you don't have to backtrack) and she now sells monster materials (Potent Droplet, Potent Bolt). You have obtained WILD ARTIFACT (01/10)! Wild Artifact allows you to activate
blue warp gates, leading you to other time zones. The warp gate you just passed is orange, so Wild Artifact won't work on it. Note if you return to Alyssa in starting area, there's invisible TB near her with Librascope. You can choose to take the tunnel on the right, or path on the left. To the left of the tunnel is concealed TB containing a Capsule (needed for a quest in this timeline) - take the tunnel for it leads to orange warp gate in the cavern and some treasure - Capsule, 8x Potent Droplets, Rune Bracelet (concealed). Examine orange gate for LT, and then go W from orange gate. When you exit the tunnel, proceed N (that giant hand will smash the surroundings again), and then turn E, collect 2x Gysahl Greens, find another shop of Chocolina's, and Phoenix Down nearby. There is a big giant Atlas LT... Let's take care of it immediately. ------------------------ HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER! ------------------------No??? Atlas (full power) T: ??? But it's unlikely you're able to do so on first visit, so you need to grow stronger. Return to this area later in the game with help of Time Reversal and become the girl with absolute power who takes down bigass giant. OK, retry. Turn around and enter the tunnel on the right. When you reach a cavern (nab TB with Orange Newsboy Cap) with paths branching E, W and another corridor connecting the cavern with outside area (Chocolina's shop is in this corridor as well), hike W to dead end with LT (grab Star Pendant from concealed TB), and then E to find a special device... Enter Temporal Rift, a mess of synhronizing the timeline. There's three different types of rifts. - Collect all crystal fragments in the area, while the panels you step on disappear when you get off of them. - Connect the star system of shown monster by linking together two crystals when they're of the same color. - Clear all numbers on the clock. For clock puzzles download the Shockwave app. It will help you amazingly. And for the record I DID NOT MAKE IT. I found it: http://www1.axfc.net/uploader/He/dl.pl Pressing Square resets the current stage of the puzzle, and pressing R1 + L1 at the same time quits the puzzle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fellow GameFAQs user DarkSist sent me the following: The clock puzzle has many solutions, so from the moment you find one of them, you may stop, 'cause you have solved the puzzle. To solve it, you have to follow the following steps: 1) Number the nodes (see between the brackets) f.i. 1[1] 2[6] 1[2] 3[5] 1[3] 1[4] 2) Write down for each node the nodes that can follow it. In this case, there are 6 follow-ups. so, [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [1] -> -> [1] -> [2] -> [3] -> [2] -> [2] [2] or [6] or [3] or [4] or [5] or [4]
can't go any further. For every continuation, you repeat step 7a until you can't go any further. If you have made a chain that goes through every node, great! You may stop now, 'cause you have found a solution. If you haven't go to step 7b. 7b) Longing the chains of step 7a on the left side. You can see in step 3 how many follow-ups end in the left node for each of your chains of step 7a. And you can see in step 2 what those follow-ups are. Like in step 7a, if the node is on the right side in step 5a or 5b, you may only use that follow-up. Our chain in 7a was [4] -> [5] -> [2] -> [1] -> [6]. The left side of it is [4]. In step 3, you can see that 2 nodes can be followed by node [4]. These are [3] -> [4] and [6] -> [4]. There isn't a follow-up in step 5a and 5b with [4] on the right side, so node [4] may follow both nodes. But because [6] is already in the chain, only node [3] can be put before the chain. So we have found a solution for our puzzle ([3] -> [4] -> [5] -> [2] -> [1] -> [6]). You may stop now, but for the sake of our example, we will continue and suppose we haven't found one. For every continuation, we will repeat step 7b until we can't go any further. If you haven't found a solution by now, go to step 8. 8) Try doing 7a and 7b all over, but starting with another chain than in step 6. Repeat this for every chain in step 6. f.i. suppose [2] -> [1] wasn't a follow-up in step 5b, then you could make 2 chains in step 6 (chain [4] -> [5] -> [2] and chain [1]->[6]). The longest chain would have been [4] -> [5] -> [2]. We would have started with it in steps 7a and 7b. If we wouldn't have found a solution, we would now repeat steps 7a and 7b, but now starting with chain [1] -> [6]. 9) If you haven't found a solution by now, that means that one of the followups in steps 5a or 5b isn't used in the chain. So either the whole chain begins with a node on the right side of the arrow in step 5b (see step 9a) or ends with a node on the left side of the arrow in step 5a (see step 9b). 9 a) In the first case, you start with that node (i.e. on the right side of the arrow in step 5b) and then try longing the chain on the right side by repeating step 7a. f.i. for node [1] -> [2] -> [1] -> [6] -> [1] -> [6] -> [1] -> [6] -> So now if you nodes [5] and [1], you will [3] -> [4] -> [2] -> [3] -> [4] -> [3] -> [4] -> [5] -> wouldn't have [6]. end up with the following chains: [5] (not a solution and you can't go any further) [4] -> [5] (a solution) [2] (not a solution and you can't go any further) [2] -> [3] (a solution) found a solution, you could repeat it starting with
3) Write down how many times a node is on the right side of the arrow in step 2 [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] 1 4 2 2 1 1
4) If one of the nodes in step 3 has a 0 next to it, then you know you have to start with that node. (That isn't the case in this example). When that's the case, then after step 5, you only have to do step 9a, but start with the node that has a 0 next to it (in step 3) instead.
5 a) Write down all nodes that can be followed by only 1 node (see step 2) [5] -> [2] 5 b) Write down all nodes that are only once on the right side of the arrow (see step 3) [2] -> [1] [4] -> [5] [1] -> [6] 6) Now you know that all the follow-ups in steps 5a and 5b must be in the solution. (This isn't always the case, but most of the times it is. In the cases where it isn't, see step 9). Now make the longest chain you can make with the follow-ups of steps 5a and 5b. here: [4] -> [5] -> [2] -> [1] -> [6] 7) Try longing the chain as far as possible by going through all possible continuations. 7 a) Longing the chain on the right side. You can use the follow-ups in step 2, but if the node, that you're on, is in the left side in either step 5a or 5b, you can only use those follow-ups : [4] -> [5] -> [2] -> [1] -> [6] Because of step 2, node [6] can be followed by either [2] or [4]. There isn't a follow-up in steps 5a and 5b with [6] on the left side, so node [6] may be followed by both. But because both [2] and [4] are already in the chain, you
9 b) In the second case, you end with that node (i.e. on the left side of the arrow in step 5a) and then try longing the chain on the left side by repeating step 7b. f.i. for node [5], you will end up with the following chains: [1] -> [6] -> [2] -> [3] -> [4] -> [5] (a solution) [3] -> [2] -> [1] -> [6] -> [4] -> [5] (a solution) If you have followed these steps, you'll have found the solution for the puzzle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------Now with that out of the way, clear the three stages of crystallizing to obtain AF005 BRESHA RUINS FRAGMENT - Delicate Crystal (01/08). Examine the device to deal a slight shock to Atlas... oooh, ran outta juice? Return to Atlas to deal with it.

Hint: Make sure to unlock Serah's SAB role and learn Poison spell ASAP. It's very useful for taking down some tough enemies and bosses. A good leveling spot is [The Pass of Paddra] in the dark area where Feral Behemoths exclusively appear. One drops 300 CP, 360 gil, and you can get a good monster with Feral Link (Feral Behemoth is a poor COM with slow attack speed). Serah learns Poison once her SAB role is lv9. Walk forward, jump the gap in the road and press R1 near dark space to reveal time rift, leading into temporal rift. In this type of labyrinth, you will be shown a star system of a monster or object from world of FFXIII-2 (in first case it's Cait Sith). Stand in a spot where a crystal is, then hold X and connect the crystal with one of the connecting crystals. At the time of being connected both crystals have to be of the same color. And some crystals are connected to more than one crystal, which causes them to switch colors. Since this is just a warm up, the systems are not hard to connect, but they get progressively harder the further you are in the game. Complete this puzzle to get AF200 OERBA FRAGMENT - Time's Stardust (01/05). Continue down the road and drop down the ledge thru opening in stone fence to the right. Proceed SE, then around the house (this used to be Vanille's house if you played FFXIII) - now you can go down the slope on the right, or enter the plaza in front of the house. On lower level you can nab TB with map of Oerba, and on top of stairs collect TC with 'Visions' Gate Seal (enables Time Reversal on AF010 Yaschas Massif). NW from Vanille's house is Chocolina's shop - she has some new acc, and new special items. all enemies onscreen in this timeline. You'll also fight an insane amount of battles, cos new foes keep spawning all over the place. From starting position go E, then examine the panel to change the color of nearby escalator from red to blue. Go up the escalator and then dash N for a scene. Currently you're in a safe zone where enemies cannot pursue you. Examine the yellow terminal to get the map of Academia and notice about defeating robotic enemies in order to clear the barriers further on in the city. Turn left around the corner and check in with Chocolina - she sells new weapons, new acc and lv2 monster materials. Talk to the blonde girl tending another of yellow terminals to take on the quest of covering all game maps 100%. We already have New Bodhum covered, so that gives AF400 ACADEMIA FRAGMENT (01/13). Near the girl is TC with 'Farewells' Gate Seal that unlocks Time Reversal in AF300 Sunleth Waterscape. The next point of interest is located after twists and turns with lots of enemies blocking your path - we shall attempt the shortest route. From Chocolina go W and bash up some enemies that have surely amassed just beyond the barrier. Further E is 3x Koboldroid Yan - dismantle them to remove the yellow barrier they've been protecting. Now follow my instructions to the letter - go S over short catwalk, then turn E again to spot Fencer, a big silver robot guarding another orange barrier. With the robot gone so is the barrier - there's a set of stairs leading N which you should take... and fall into an event battle. Afterwards proceed E downstairs near the escalator. At the bottom turn left onto the main street and make a beeline straight W, fighting off waves of enemies. There will be another scene with Soul Edge - after it rolls continue going W and go down blue escalator. A scene of bridge collapsing plays, and the enemies stop bothering you for a while. Dash N and then W across broken bridge, then turn N again and blitz thru enemies for the panel, which changes nearby escalator from red to blue. Take that escalator up, turn W into the alley, and then turn S. Here's info on great spot for CP and gil Grindaga, though you will need a controller with turbo function. - From the last turn you made S you soon spot a red escalator going down to the W. You'll have to continuously jump in order to make it to the bottom. - Head W, and then N to spot a panel which changes the color of escalator behind you from red to blue. - Ride that escalator up and you find yourself near TB. - Slightly more S from you is an orange barrier with a big silver robot on other side. - Stand as close to the barrier as you can, and now tape down X button. - As soon as you win a random battle, the Mog Clock for next one will appear immediately. - All you do is stand still and let X button do the work. - Watch CP and gil roll in while you do nothing. If grinding to be powerful isn't your game, then ignore the last paragraph and continue from here... Anyway, you're S-bound now - ignore the red escalator branching off W, and take the next road W. Then turn N and engage big silver robot that guards a barrier. Dismantle it and barrier is kaputt, then ride the blue escalator up. If you need supplies, Chocolina's is to the right. If your acc capacity is at 100, you can equip three acc that increase ATK by 10% to gain synth-ability (3% of damage incurred is absorbed as HP recovery). Note - in this area you can capture Flanitor, a very good MED monster. Exit to middle walkway, and a robotic voice will say a number [1]. Go S, check next terminal to rotate SE room and walk thru it to outer walkway. Robotic voice will say number [2], walk W and examine next terminal twice to rotate SW room. When you step out of it to middle walkwa, robotic voice will say number [3]. An elevator descends in middle of the floor, so board it and fiddle with the terminal to go to floor 14. FLOOR 14 Here we have three circular walkways with W and SW rooms. Step off the elevator and breeze W to middle walkway with Chocolina's (sells new acc). There is also a scene of another elevator being lowered near outer walkway. Check the terminal S from Chocolina twice to rotate W room. Walk thru W room onto outer walkway into SW room (robotic voice will say number

PARADOX ENDING - After you beat the game, visit the Serendipity timeline. Enter the leftmost building and talk to the girl dressed as chocobo to unlock Grand Cross fragment skill. MAKE SURE TO TURN IT ON! Use Time Reversal on AF200 Augusta Tower timeline and proceed to the place of boss encounter. When you begin the battle, words "GRAND CROSS" appear on screen, and you fight stronger version of the boss. Defeat it for paradox ending (04/08). More details shall be added later. Nab AF200 AUGUSTA TOWER FRAGMENT (01/04). With the boss gone and dusted, check the terminal to free up the access to orange warp gate nearby. Using the warp gate unlocks AF4XX Academia timeline.
Now to hunt for graviton cores' locations! a) ALPHA - Warp to AF003 New Bodhum. Walk over to the E part of the middle of the map. There are two metallic platforms, and one of them is raised a bit. Hop on the raised platform and there's a concealed item. Use R1 to reveil it and nab AF003 NEW BODHUM FRAGMENT (04/04). Leave to HC. b) BETA - Warp to AF005 Bresha Ruins. Grab a chocobo, and from central orange gate ride E to the staircase leading down to S. Jump over the staircase's stone fence to the left and moogle's bobble starts glowing. Hidden in the grass is a concealed item. Use R1 to reveal it and nab AF005 BRESHA RUINS FRAGMENT (03/08). Leave to HC. c) GAMMA - Warp to AF200 Oerba. From big tree in middle of the map walk briefly SE to spot a pile of sand against the stone fence. By choco-jumping from this pile of sand you can land on nearby roof of the of the building next to Chocolina's shop. There's a concealed item floating around - Use R1 to reveal it and nab AF200 OERBA FRAGMENT (04/05). Leave to HC. d) DELTA - Warp to AF400 Academia (great). Make force to Chocolina's shop in W district. Going N from Chocolina's is red escalator leading N to a dead end. Go down the escalator to find a concealed item. Use R1 to reveal it and nab AF400 ACADEMIA FRAGMENT (03/13). Do not leave the timeline yet! Also next to Chocolina's shop is a blue escalator leading down to the S - jump down it, and then make an immediate 180-degree turn to find next escalator leading down to N. At the bottom again make a hard 180-degree turn and walk as far S as you can to discover a blue gate! Use one unit of Wild OOparts to activate the blue gate, which unlocks AF100 Yaschas Massif timeline.
EPISODE 4 =========================================================== EPISODE 4 WLK19 AF4XX ACADEMIA EPISODE 4 =========================================================== EPISODE 4 There are two warp gates here: a) Orange gate along E side b) Blue gate near Chocolina's shop Quite a vast improvement over the hellhole we had to walk thru several hours back... if you somehow missed getting the map of Academia in previous timeline, you can get it again by examining orange panel bit N from your position. Ride the long escalator N to find Chocolina's shop (no new warez), then fiddle with nearby orange terminal for a scene about 13th Ark. Navigate the city all the way to the N and enter the large building. Inside toss the moogle at TC behind the counter to get Reverse Clock (unlocks Time Reversal in AF200 Augusta Tower). Then look for a man with white hair, graywhite sweater, and blue jeans. Talk to him to initiate the monster data quest defeat at least one copy of every enemy in the game to obtain the fragment (DLC foes do not count). Also inside the same area look for a concealed image of a man - use Moogle Hunter nearby to reveal a man named "Daddy Bear" (if you played FFXIII, you'll recognize him as being Lightning's captain). Talk to him to initiate a quiz quest - answer correctly to get a fragment... or fail like I did to get nothing, except initiate the quest. Regardless of the outcome, Daddy Bear will ninjawarp to one of 10 different locations inside AF4XX Academia - three locations are within W district, and seven are within E district. Daddy Bear holds five fragments in total - to get first fragment, you have to answer one question, two correct answers for second fragment, and so on until five questions for fifth fragment. Note that each time when you get a fragment, or answer incorrectly, Daddy Bear ninjawarps to a new location (but never again inside the large N building you first met him in). Enter the oval room at extreme N and talk to Alyssa or Hope to move things along, then Hope two more times for LT, then Alyssa two more times. You learn of five graviton cores that need to be collected. Hoppalongcassidy to E district, SE corner and look for a concealed image of something floating in the air. Press R1 to reveal the hidden item and then nab WILD OOPARTS (06/10).
EPISODE 4 =========================================================== EPISODE 4 WLK20 AF100 Yaschas Massif EPISODE 4 =========================================================== EPISODE 4 There is one warp gate here: a) Blue gate on very S in one of dead ends The sole reason we came here is to collect one specific fragment, and then we're outta here. You start in the camp to the NE of the map, and your objective lies in SW portion of the map (in the area with searchlights). Grab a blue chocobo for riding - while these birds behave exactly the same while yellow ones, blue chocies continuously drain your reserves of Gysahl Greens. And they tend to run away from you once you dismount. Now to hunt for the last graviton core's location! e) EPSILON - Once you make it to the searchlight area, look at the map. There are three triangular cracks in the ground, and the piece you're looking for is near the largest crack. Moogle's bobble also lights up when you're in close vicinity. Sniff for a concealed item, use R1 to reveal it and nab AF100 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (01/07). All graviton cores have been collected! Return to AF4XX Academia.
EPISODE 4 =========================================================== EPISODE 4 WLK21 AF4XX ACADEMIA EPISODE 4 =========================================================== EPISODE 4 Return to Alyssa and talk to her five times to hand over graviton cores Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon. After Epsilon being given, a scene plays, in which you get OOparts that activate orange warp gate along E side. PARADOX ENDING - After you beat the game, visit the Serendipity timeline. Enter the leftmost building and talk to the girl dressed as chocobo to unlock Grand Cross fragment skill. MAKE SURE TO TURN IT ON! Return to AF4XX Academia and do Time Reversal. Replay the map up to the point where you give Alyssa graviton cores. DO NOT SKIP THE EVENTS DURING THIS TIME. Eventually you're offered Live Trigger choice! Press Triangle for paradox ending (05/08). More details shall be added later.

After getting the OOparts, talk to Noel who's standing near the door. Exit the building completely and grab a chocobo, ride it S, turn E and up the ramp. Next walk inside NORA's house to find somebody important... everybody's gone. Walk to the pier opposite of NORA's house and talk to *THE WOMAN* (swoon) standing there for LT (Triangle). PARADOX ENDING - This is the first of paradox endings you can get without beating the game or becoming very powerful. At the offered Live Trigger press Triangle to get paradox ending (07/08), as well as AF00X NEW BODHUM FRAGMENT (01/03). After you nab the fragment, you're returned to "Between time and space" area. A new area gets unlocked in middle node, AF00X New Bodhum. When you return, your gameplay resumes just before LT, but this time choose X in order to advance the game. Hey, whose voice is that I hear? Walk aaaall the way E to the crates and talk to the... hm, spoiler? When the scene concludes, look along crater's edges to find AF00X NEW BODHUM FRAGMENT (02/03) and AF00X NEW BODHUM FRAGMENT (03/03), then step in the time warp.

Valhalla again, though this time you control Serah only, and moogle is kinda out of commission too (can only do Moogle Hunter with R1). Walk E until you spot a familiar figure... Talk to her for LT and BETWEEN TIME AND SPACE FRAGMENT (01/05). She moves further E, and upon discussion gives you LT, as well as parts with BETWEEN TIME AND SPACE FRAGMENT (02/05). Now she moves SW between two sets of stairs - chat with her for BETWEEN TIME AND SPACE FRAGMENT (03/05)... stop moving so much. Walk back downstairs to the E and slap her for BETWEEN TIME AND SPACE FRAGMENT (04/05), and finally walk upstairs to talk to the girl one more time for BETWEEN TIME AND SPACE FRAGMENT (05/05). There is one warp gate here: a) Blue gate on S end of W section of the map. Moogle is totally unavailable for a while. Walk W for a scene with Noel and Behemoth, then E for a scene with Noel and Censor Bypass, talk to Censor Bypass for a scene with Noel, and then moogle comes back (enabling Moogle Hunter again). Go SE to enter the settlement with a lot of shadows of the people - if you use R1 next to the person's shadow, that person falls to the ground and disappears. I'm not sure if it has any consequence story-wise, but I still advise not using R1. About 20 steps from entering the settlement you should spot a concealed TB floating in the air. Use R1 nearby and loot the TB for map of Dying World. In an alcove N from this TB locate concealed Chocolina - give her a push with R1 and check hew warez, for she sells new weapons. Shortly before exiting the village a shadow of Noel is standing (moogle's bobble light up as well). EPISODE 5 =========================================================== EPISODE 5 WLK25 AF700 NEW BODHUM EPISODE 5 =========================================================== EPISODE 5 There's one warp gate here: a) Orange gate at the pier. Moogle's functions have been fully restored. From the start walk W until you can run again, then return all the way E to where you started and moogle's bobble lights up. There's a concealed TC in SE corner just out of reach, press R1 to uncover it and then toss the moogle to recover AF700 NEW BODHUM FRAGMENT (01/05). Check the time warp in front of the pier and *THE WOMAN* appears. After the scene is over, Moogle Hunter ability is upgraded. You will find a couple of concealed treasures with rings around them, and the upgrade you just received allows you to open such treasures. On W side of the map you can find concealed Chocolina's shop. R1 it to discover she sells nothing new. Directly S from Chocolina in SW corner moogle's bobble lights up again - there's a concealed TC just out of reach. Press R1 to uncover it and toss moogle at it to recover AF700 NEW BODHUM FRAGMENT (02/05). Directly N from the pier there's a concealed item - use R1 to uncover it and claim OOparts which activate S orange gate. SE from Chocolina's is a concealed TC - uncover it with R1 to claim AF700 NEW BODHUM FRAGMENT (03/05). And lastly, NE from the pier is concealed TC that hides map of New Bodhum. Now go to S orange gate and activate it to leave the place and return to HC. Next area unlocked is AF500 Academia... but return to AF700 Dying World for now. You start in S section, N side. Schlepp S towards the image of the bridge, press R1 to form the bridge and walk across to the SW for 15 or so steps. Next to red chocster is a concealed TC, press R1 to uncover it and bag AF700 DYING WORLD FRAGMENT (02/04). Get to the bridge connecting W and central sections of the map, press R1 to form the bridge and now walk all the way thru the settlement towards the monument on N side of E section of the map. Once there, press R1 near the pedestal, then examine it for LT (Triangle). Your reward is WILD OOPARTS (07/10). Leave for HC. Drop by Serendipity timeline to unlock two more fragment skills. You get 3rd skill Deflation (can buy items at reduced price), and 6th skill Gravity Jump (hold Circle while jumping to slow your descent). Now onward to AF??? Archylte Steppe. With Gravity Jump it is now possible to jump the gap separating E and W sections of Archylte Steppe. Actually, you can reach earlier by using the gold Cactuar statue as a warp, but I did not focus on completing many subquests while I'm writing the main walkthru. Anyway, blitz your Serah all the way W and then walk along the edge looking into the ravine, until you spot another ledge with something floating on it. Toss the moogle down there to recover WILD OOPARTS (08/10). Now leave for HC and depart to AF500 Academia.

At one point remaining Paco starts a chant to revive the one you already dispatched, so hurry it up before that happens. If the Paco you're still fighting has for example 20000 HPs when the chant is complete, revived Paco will also have 20000 HPs, so use this info to your advantage. -------------------- CONGRATULATIONS! Jump on the block to S, wait for E L-block to connect you with platform to SE, then cross the L-block to SE platform. Cross the E I-block to E platform and examine Cactuar stone for a checkpont. Board the stairs to N when they're properly aligned, and then use L-block to N to reach platform to NE. Activate Cactuar stone for a checkpoint, use the stairs to N and touch purple cube to have it turn blue. Use the stairs to S, turn W and cross L-block to the platform to NW. Go W, touch Cactuar stone for a checkpoint and touch blue cube to have it turn purple. Hop on T-block to N, and ride it to the platform to W. Here examine purple cube to have it turn blue, then use T-block to the E to ride it to E platform. Here loot TC with Reverse Clock (unlocks Time Reversal on AF700 New Bodhum). Next board the stairs to E when they're properly aligned to reach another platform to E. Kick Cactuar stone for checkpoint, ignore the cube and hop on L-block to N. At the other end wait for T-block to W, jump on it and get off to the platform to W. Board another T-block to W, and wait until it connects to L-block to W. Cross the L-block to the platform to SW. Here examine both Cactuar stone for checkpoint and blue cube to have it turn purple. Cross L-block to N when its other end points E so that you wait on the tip of I-block. From here hop on T-block to E and have it carry you to the platform to NE. Use stairs to W, and cross L-block to W to reach the stairs to NW. Hop on platform to N and quickly dash for stairs to E to reach final platform before the last bosses of the game. Here you have Chocolina's shop, a Cactuar stone that is auto-activated, and a big red Cactuar stone which warps you to start of the dungeon. FIGHT! -----------------------------One of frontline Bahamuts sports constant Protect and Shell, while the other sports constant Bravery and Haste (you can't dispel them, cos they're immune to Dispel). Until you defeat both Gold and Red, you can't touch the main Bahamut in the backline. Now about their attacks - Gold mainly annoys you with status changes (Deprotect, Curse, Deshell) and minor Wound Damage, while Red swipes in front of it (if you're far enough, it'll miss completely), and tosses wind and fire magic.
Check to see which Bahamut has Bravery and Haste, and target that Bahamut. Inflict Deprotect at least, then switch to <4.> to Stagger it, and <3.> to finish it off. When both Bahamuts fall, Purple one steps on the scene. First it launches some stink cloud which debuffs everybody it hits with Slow, Poison and Curse. Remove these with <2.>, and then connect to <6.> to add Poison on sucker, while your monster SEN draws the attacks. Purple Bahamut has AOE attacks (similar to those of Paco bosses), can call reinforcements in forms of some crystals, and can summon a gigantic sword that falls on battlefield. When the boss charges up for its Gigaflare attack (countdown captions appear), switch to <1.> to greatly reduce the damage. Eventually, Purple retreats to backline and one of two frontline Bahamuts you defeated comes back for another asskicking. It's possible that other frontline Bahamut is also revived if you don't off destroy current one quickly enough. blue warp gate. This one wants an item from concealed TC, located just a bit S from Chocolina. Also, while near Chocolina, take a look down from top of the ramp to find another TC - toss moogle at it to collect Reverse Clock which enables Time Reversal in AF100 Yaschas Massif. Upon returning the requested items you receive AF100 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (04/07). Next red sphere you can talk to is located just a bit N from the area with searchlights. This one wants an item from TC located beneath one of the ramps in the encampment. Go down the ramp near Chocolina and then stop - to your left is a twisty ramp that leads up to the face of some statue. TC you seek is below this ramp - toss the moogle to it to retrieve the requested item. Upon returning you receive AF100 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (05/07). Finally, return to the blue "!" that popped up and enter the time warp. Oho, it's a clock puzzle. I explained those when you first entered time labyrinth in AF200 Oerba so please refer to that. Complete 3 stages of clockworking to obtain AF100 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (06/07), and WILD OOPARTS (09/10). There is one more time gate in Yaschas Massif - it is found just before S blue warp gate. Complete 4 stages of clockworking to obtain AF100 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (07/07). Now you can activate S blue warp gate to access AF400 Sunleth Waterscape.
at the TB to retrieve the item. Bring the item back to him for AF005 BRESHA RUINS FRAGMENT (04/08). Also in the same area one of the soldiers in yellow armor gives you a quest to kill a monster for fragment. To find this enemy, go to NW corner of the map and roam around for a bit. Terminate the enemy for AF005 BRESHA RUINS FRAGMENT (05/08). PARADOX ENDING ACQUISITION... Exit to HC, and do Time Reversal on AF005 Bresha Ruins. Proceed past the first boss battle and advance onto Atlas, WITHOUT fiddling with the machine that makes it weaker. Kick Atlas' ass to unlock AFXXX Archylte Steppe timeline on HC, which is where you also end up. Enter AFXXX Archylte Steppe, and view the paradox ending to receive AFXXX ARCHYLTE STEPPE FRAGMENT (01/01). Upon returning to normal HC timeline AFXXX Archylte Steppe already has Time Reversal unlocked. At NE dead end near the monument you can talk to a man who wants you to bring him a flower, which can be found in AF300 Bresha Ruins (but we haven't uncovered that timeline yet). Talk to the guard in front of a jail cell for a quest to retrieve an item. At this point I was able to unlock the prison gate leading to SW part of the map. Unfortunately I don't recall at this moment where I got the required item, but wait until the US version. Anyway, go past the gate and you enter the underground cavern (you can see the orange gate across). Before making left turn there's a concealed TB with the item requested. Return it to the guard for AF005 BRESHA RUINS FRAGMENT (06/08). Next, there's a girl roaming around on SE end of the map, around the fenced area with that giant hand. Talk to her to initiate a retrieval quest - the item is with concealed TC next to the jail guard. Bring it back to the girl for AF005 BRESHA RUINS FRAGMENT (07/08). Now all that's left is proceed past the prison gate you unlocked and activate SW blue gate, which unlocks AF300 Bresha Ruins timeline.

There's a plethora of Flans at start, which then run away to hide from you. You need to locate five sets of Flans - the set will always consist of three big Flans, and one little Flan who is concealed. At the beginning you immediately run into three red Flans... moogle's bobble lights up as well. Where moogle stops, there's hard-to-see little red Flan poke it with R1 for AF400 SUNLETH WATERSCAPE FRAGMENT (01/07). White Flan set is found on extreme S. Upon poking little Flan (moogle's bobble can help) with R1 you receive AF400 SUNLETH WATERSCAPE FRAGMENT (02/07). Blue Flan set can be sniffed out by taking left route via the vine. Upon poking little Flan (moogle's bobble can help) with R1 you receive AF400 SUNLETH WATERSCAPE FRAGMENT (03/07). Ride the beast towards N and reach 4waycross. Here's yellow Flan set... jump to a set of trunks to NW, and then get on the lowest trunk you can. Here's where little yellow Flan is concealed. Smash it with R1 for AF400 SUNLETH WATERSCAPE FRAGMENT (04/07). And for last one go SE from 4waycross, pass Chocolina and dark blue Flan set is in sight. Jump down on trunks leading SE to a dead end and moogle's bobble lights up. Set concealed little Flan on fire with R1 to receive AF400 SUNLETH WATERSCAPE FRAGMENT (05/07). Now proceed to blue "!" and kick the mucus of five Flans in event battle for AF400 SUNLETH WATERSCAPE FRAGMENT (06/07), and Reverse Clock which enables Time Reversal in AF400 Sunleth Waterscape. Return a bit S to the large clearing where you fought and above blue circle in the ground is a concealed item. Poke it with R1 to recover AF400 SUNLETH WATERSCAPE FRAGMENT (07/07).

the small clearing to find a blue warp gate. Activate it to unlock AF110 Yaschas Massif timeline. Enter AF005 Bresha Ruins for now.
Deliver the two items we collected in AF010 Yaschas Massif to interested parties for AF01X YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (03/04) and AF01X YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (04/04). That covers this timeline at last.
POST-GAME STUFF =============================================== POST-GAME STUFF WLK31 AF005 BRESHA RUINS POST-GAME STUFF =============================================== POST-GAME STUFF Take the flower you collected from AF300 Bresha Ruins to the man in NE corner of the map for AF005 BRESHA RUINS FRAGMENT (08/08). Now depart for AF01X Yaschas Massif.
POST-GAME STUFF =============================================== POST-GAME STUFF WLK35 AF110 YASCHAS MASSIF POST-GAME STUFF =============================================== POST-GAME STUFF Have a word with red sphere in NE encampment, who wants you to find a concealed woman. The woman in question is walking around in the passage SW from searchlight area - kiss her with R1 and then talk to her before she runs away. You get an item, which needs to be delivered to red sphere to get AF110 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (01/06). If you climb the ramp leading to the face of some statue, you can nab TC with Reverse Clock (enables Time Reversal in AF110 Yaschas Massif). POST-GAME STUFF =============================================== POST-GAME STUFF WLK32 AF01X YASCHAS MASSIF POST-GAME STUFF =============================================== POST-GAME STUFF Enter the encampment. Near the ramp leading to the statue talk to the man who wants you to retrieve three items. First is in TC inside the triangular crack in the ground very close to blue warp gate (moogle throwing). Second is within concealed TC near 3waycross E from the blue warp gate. Third is hidden in TC below the T-junction bridge in S end of the map. Give all these items to the man for AF01X YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (01/04). In the encampment there's a guy with shield cap going around. He gives you a quest to kill a monster, which can be found in SW corner of the map. Squish the foe for AF01X YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (02/04). Now you can to the girl on elevated ledge near searchlight area. She wants an item from somewhere in AF010 Yaschas Massif. While we're here, let's take care of remaining fragments. Talk to the girl N from searchlight area for a quest - she needs some Behemoth Fangs. Just kill one Behemoth in the searchlight area and you get a Fang. Hand it over for AF010 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (02/05). Next, climb the ramp to statue's face. With the item in hand return to red sphere to claim AF110 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (02/06). Note - before he gave me an item, I did two more things. There is a concealed TC within Hope's tent - kick it with R1 and then claim the contents. There is also a concealed man in E dead end, which needs to be slapped with R1 and talked to. I'm not sure at this moment if the above two things influence anything. Next red sphere is on top of the ramp above Hope's tent. It needs an item, whic is hidden in concealed TC near the biggest ground crack in searchlight area. With the item in hand return to red sphere to claim AF110 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (03/06). Time warp has now appeared in SW corner of the map. Enter it, clear four stages of clockworking and claim AF110 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (04/06). Next, talk to the red sphere next to Chocolina's - it wants you to kill a beast roaming around the searchlight area. When it's history, bag AF110 YASCHAS MASSIF FRAGMENT (05/06). is finding all fragments] You'll also need a Gold Chocobo, which is found in AF700 Dying World in a concealed TC - north of the bridge leading to the western area, just follow the border and you'll find it. As for Kichu, it can be found in Archylte Steppe. Go S from nomad settlement and look for patch of red flowers in the grass. Once found, toss Moogle into the patch a few times and Kichu's yours. Now, let's begin. 1. Level up your Gold Chocobo until it's at lv45, which is its max LV. Maxed out Goldie has A speed and A stamina, making it a very good candidate to winning chocobo races in the Casino. 2. Keep winning races until you get to Fal'Cie class - here aim for race called "Dahaka's stake". If the race doesn't appear, you can use certain items to refresh the race list and see if it comes up. 3. Obtain 2x Collector's Catalog by winning the race "Dahaka's stake". 4. Obtain 4x Sunpetal, which is a rare drop from Microchu. These guys can be found in Archylte steppe, W region, during the rains. 5. Obtain 4x Phoenix Blood, which can be bought at the casino for 1600 chips (equivalent of 16000 gil). 6. Go to Archylte Steppe's Chocolina shop and buy two units of [Collector's Catalog "Heavy Formula"] for 40000 gil. 7. Properties of upgraded Collector's Catalog are: increased chance of getting rare item, more gil dropped by enemies (stacks!), and getting more items. Now for the bonanza. 1. Go to AF100 Bresha Ruins and equip both upgraded Collector's Catalog. 2. If you have them, turn on Master Encounter, Battle Mania and Master Clock frag-skills. Also play on Normal Mode. 3. Roam around and avoid unnecessary encounters by running from them. Wait for a black sphere to pop up, causing the screen to go black-and-whitish. This means that Don Tonberry has spawned. 4. Approach the sphere and whack it to get Preemptive Strike on Don. 5. Don is not terribly difficulty opponent to defeat, and can take you about 90 seconds to kick its ass (stronger you are, faster you can defeat it). 6. Now the battle spoils! If you get 5* ranking, you get [Rare drop 320% Up] and [Item drop 500% Up]. Don itself drops 18360 gil, Scarletite in 99% cases, and in rare instances Hermes Sandals. 7. Scarletite can be sold for 18700 gil, and Hermes Sandals for 11000 gil. 8. In the end, your net profit can be 48060 gil per battle.
dismounts the chocster, Yomi appears and battle begins. 4. I made poor decisions when upgrading the Crystarium of my characters, so my stats aren't terribly flashy. I require about 150-180 secs to smash Yomi, depending on how many times it protects itself. 5. Now the battle spoils - with two Collector's Catalogs equipped, you get a staggering 144000 gil! With one CC you get 96000 gil (tested and confirmed). 6. Battling Yomi will also yield the elusive Trapezohedron, which is needed for weapons with additional ATB bar. When Yomi's history, leave to HC, come back to the Steppe and flip either switch two times to return to stormy weather, causing Yomi to reappear.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------FARMING 144000 GIL IN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------Much of the preparations for this tip are the same as previous farming tip. The requirements: - AF??? Archylte Steppe unlocked - Reasonably well developed characters and a good monster with Commando role - Master Clock fragment skill is useful, but not required - 2 units of Collector's Catalog "Heavy formula" - Weapons with ATBG+50% speed up (won from Invincible) help immensely Now for the bonanza. 1.
