Hey ya'll!

Here's an update to CAIN with my rough and ready notes:

General goals:
fix small errors
make exorcists less durable to up the tension and decision making of the game
tweak some standout powers and give others better scaling
export a pages version

General
fixed many general spelling or grammar errors
updated recommended talismans to be slightly longer
removed 'magic pixel' stress concept - stress now overflows after taking an injury
exorcists now take an injury when stress fills up to 6, not when it's full and they
take stress again
defy fate now only heals 1 injury
defy fate no longer heals afflictions
briefing scenes explicitly never increase tension
fixed text on Authority notes
removed xp bonus for two or more bolded agenda items, felt like it was a little
gamey
many abilities that triggered off afflictions or injuries now trigger off hooks
filling out
reword on beast's rules of nature
small reword to beasts's bare teeth
Loner's Dust to Dust now grants the old 'magic pixel' effect.
moth's rapture now triggers on hooks and injuries but only erases 1 stress
shadow's shadow seed is max cat 0 now

Blasphemies
tension's iron soul reworked
tensions' Statis now scales targets with CAT
tension's aegis now only grants another use if an ally takes an injury
tension's Fortress talisman now scales with CAT
ardence's Sabre lost its 'charge up' ability completely, I feel like this was
uninteresting or too gamey
ardence's Fury made more dangerous
flux's temporal instability lost the ability to randomly gain extra hook segments
flux's quickening can no longer bring exorcists off the brink of death but now can
heal CAT number of humans
flux's stutter now scales with CAT range but its cost increase lasts until rest
vector's Fling now gains CAT+2 combo size and range
vector's Fling gains the ability to remove velocity and stop moving objects
vector's Lift now affects CAT people
vector's Current increased to CAT+2
vector's Finesse now allows rolling a relevant skill instead of PSYCHE
gate's Tear now allows objects and beings up to 1/2 CAT
gate's Pinch can now move things up to combined CAT+2 size and distance
gate's Bloom now creates CAT+1 limbs
smother's Blind now affects CAT people or CAT area
smother's Smooth can now affect CAT people
whisper's Shiver now works up to CAT range and its bonuses have been reworked
somewhat
whisper's Dissect works up to CAT range
whisper's Precog now requires you to mark KP for gear (made more explicit)
Edit's Utility must now create objects on a surface
Edit's Utility always makes the Admin choose one
Edit's Filter disassemble ability now explicitly only works on loose objects or
furniture (as originally intended) - not things like walls
Bind's Horde spirit can now be bigger and accommodate more passengers, so you can
make Catbus
Bind's Forbidden spirit is now an instant effect, can now grow bigger and rolls
PSYCHE for its effects but bigmode is limited to one action, in line with other
abilities
Bind's Prison talisman now scales with CAT
Palace's Cellar can now set up 1/2 CAT allies and has explicitly infinite range,
parameters have been tweaked slightly
Palace's Library stress is now nonlethal
Palace's Bar now grants you the ability to manifest your bar physically
Palace's Foyer's tulpa now grants a better effect on its rolls
Palace's Parlor can bring more people in and affects the whole investigation
Jaunt's Geist can now go at CAT speed and has improved range
Jaunt's threads wording fixed - can't see NONliving matter
Jaunt's Passenger now works with multiple people and has improved range. Get the
polycule in your body.
Sympathy's Bond weapon now has a super strike so you can kill a sin with a coffee
mug

relaxed grooming guidelines now limited to CAT 3+ exorcists


driver kit's car talisman increased to 10 and cost of kit reduced to 6
Admins are able to write their own trauma questions

Sins:
many sin domains now explicitly scale more with CAT
many sin domains adjusted to deal either more stress or nonlethal stress

Ogre's hostile door patterns scales with CAT


Ogre's The Unseeing of Things now lasts until pressure increases and causes
increased nonlethal stress
Ogre's Grinding of wheels causes nonlethal stress and now permanently adds agenda
item
Ogre's Where you Belong now lasts for the rest of the mission and affects a CAT
scaling area
Ogre's the Inevitable Place of meat auto-inflicts Rotting
Ogre's Crusher now scales talisman with CAT and inflicts Rotting on a '1'
Ogre's the Agony auto-triggers at mission start

Idol's The Want affliction renamed to Ring


Idol's Apostles now scale with CAT
Idol's Slumbering, I Saw a Shape in the Door now inflicts nonlethal stress
Idol's Taking the Ears now inflicts 2d3 stress if successful

Hound's severe attack has the correct # of dice


Hound's annihilation of the wicked scales with CAT

Centipede's Centipede bite inflicts +1 stress and sin


All centipede traces increase in power at pressure 3+ now (instead of 4)
Centipede's Blinding Ague has an increased chance to permanently blind exorcist

Toad's Grand Finesse now also fills your KP


Toad's Greasing the Palms now scales with CAT
Toad's Sticky fingers no longer allows stress avoidance

Added a 'small army' group size to Lord's Guards


Lord's Pain of Loss affliction is now nonlethal
Lord's Stricture of Manifestation now scales more with CAT
Stricture of Superiority readjusted
Stricture of Control now deals 2d3 stress for breaking rules
Stricture of Alignment now triggers every time pressure increases instead of being
a tension move, and additionally gives you a funny little outfit
Increased lord's Guardian's speed and stress inflicted on '1' reaction

Adjusted some talisman lengths and reactions for additional mundane opponents
Imago inflicts +1 sin and stress on (1) result
added a note that the controlling player controls the Imago, not the GM
Titan drifter execution talisman and stress reactions increased
Readjusted Binder execution talisman and stress reactions
