Holiday Homework – Class VI (2025–26)
Dear Students,
This year, your holiday homework is centred around two exciting and meaningful themes:
⮚ “Keep the Earth Alive – Save Biodiversity”
⮚ “Save Water, Save the Future”
Through fun, creative, and thoughtful activities across all subjects, you will explore how life and water are
connected—and how you can become a real hero for our planet!
To help you stay focused and organized, each student has been assigned an activity based on their roll
number. These Activities are part of your Half-Yearly Internal Assessment and are to be done individually,
so give them your best effort!
Roll No. 1–10: Activity 1
Roll No. 11–20: Activity 2
Roll No. 21–30: Activity 3
Roll No. 31 onwards: Activity 4
Happy Holidays and Happy Learning!
ENGLISH Activity 1- •Create a stamp that highlights any one endangered species from
around the world.
•The stamp should feature a detailed illustration of an endangered species and include
a brief fact or conservation message.
Activity 2- Biodiversity Board Game :Create a simple board game (like snakes and
ladders) where:
•Good deeds (planting trees, saving animals) move you forward.
•Bad actions (littering, poaching) pull you back.
Goal: Reach the "Safe Planet" finish line.
Activity 3- Research Activity :
What is “Jal Shakti Abhiyan”?
•Collect the information about it and write a paragraph in about 100 words. Your
research should include the following :
•What is the aim of this initiative?
•Who gets benefits from it?
•How does it help the humanity?
Activity 4- Make a Water Conservation Bookmark with drawings and short slogans
like “Every Drop Counts!”
Instructions: •All holiday homework must be done neatly on A4-sized sheets.
MATHEMATIC Activity1. Observe few examples of diverse animals and plants that are found in your
S local area. This could include a bird, a butterfly, a tree, a flower, etc. Draw the chosen
animal or plants accurately, paying attention to their shapes and angles. For each
drawing, identify and label different types of angles.
Example:
● Animal: A bird
● Drawing: Draw a bird with its wings open and beak closed.
● Angles:
Right Angle: The corner of the wing when folded.
Acute Angle: The angle of the wing when fully opened.
Obtuse Angle: The angle of the beak when open.
● Explanation: The different angles of the bird's wings and beak are crucial for flight,
feeding, and defense.
Use colorful markers or pencils to make your drawings vibrant.
Activity 2. A flourishing life on land is the foundation for our life on this planet.
Promoting sustainable use of our ecosystem and preserving biodiversity is the only
key to our survival.
Let us encourage to explore the meaning and significance of this goal and make a
mathematical scenery depicting life on land by using geometrical shapes/ origami on
A3 size pastel sheet.
Activity 3 “Water = Life, Conservation = Future” Water consumption is an imperative
part of our lives. Life today is unimaginable without water. For our future generations
to avail the same benefits, we need to work towards responsible consumption. Let’s
begin from our homes. Water is widely used in every household
on daily basis.
Prepare a table showing the amount of water consumed on different activities
(Drinking, Bathing, Washing,
Cleaning, Cooking, Gardening, Miscellaneous).Repeat this process for a week and
calculate the total quantity of water consumed in 7 days. Also Prepare a pictograph/bar
graph for the above data and Suggest measures reduce and reuse the consumption of
water.
Activity 4. Imagine the “Life below Water” and Draw a picturesque scene from life of
underwater plants and animals using 2D and 3D shapes.
SCIENCE Activity 1: Create your own Microgreens
A fun and educational way to introduce Class VI students to plant life cycles
and food literacy.
Growing microgreens builds food literacy by connecting children to their food
source, encouraging healthier eating habits and nutrition awareness.

Activity 2: Biodiversity Bingo
A Biodiversity Bingo game is a fun, engaging way to explore and learn about
biodiversity and conservation in a local outdoor space. This activity encourages
observation, identification, and appreciation of the natural world.

Activity 3: Nature Paths: “Making Your Own Compost in a Cup or Bowl”.
Anything that was once living will decompose into compost. Composting is nature's
way of recycling things into soil.

What next to do?
Take a picture of your cup/Bowl and answer the following questions on A-4 sheets or
● What is composting?
● What can be composted?
● Can composting manage all our wastes?
● Is composting compatible with other waste management systems?
● What are the benefits of a successful composting program?
Activity 4: "The Underwater Realm: A Symphony of Life Below the Surface" .
Prepare a Science Magazine on the theme “Aquatic Biodiversity”. Use coloured sheets
to make your magazine attractive. Make a nice cover. Use your imagination and
creativity. The content should be of atleast 7-8 pages.
Some of things that you could put in the magazine are:
● Information about one famous biogeographer, his / her picture, and information
about his/her work.
● (2-3) News clippings and articles about the same.
