ASSEMBLY

ABOUT
PREP
First, take some time to make

ABBS
sure you have all the parts and
they all fit together. I like to
attach all the parts to the body
with knitting needles, as in pic.

INTRO
TAIL
If you chose to make a weighted dragon - add some
weights to the tail now, otherwise skip this step.
Put the body flat on its stomach, place the tail to the

PATTERN
end, so it also lays flat and sew them st to st together.

FRONT LEGS VIDEO Open ends

While the dragon is laying on its

NOTES
back, place open end of the front
paws around R33 of the body (while
the toes are facing the body, slightly
turned in, and reaching R25) about 7
TAIL
st apart, if looking from the belly. R33
Sew the open ends of the paws along
R33 first, and then a little more down
the leg, so the leg is not wobbly.
R25 HEAD
BACK LEGS

ABOUT
First, sew the open end of the
paw onto the thigh, as in pic, toes
facing the thigh.
Now, sew more down the leg to

ABBS
make sure that the leg is not
wobbly.

The back legs will be

attached to the body

INTRO
between R39 and R51, about
10st apart, if looking from
the belly.
Before starting to sew, place

PATTERN
the dragon flat on the belly
and make sure the paws
align nicely with the surface
and also with the front legs.
I like it when the front toes

NOTES
are slightly turned in
towards the body, and the

R39 back toes are slightly turned

out from the body.
Sew the thighs to the body
and don’t forget to stuff

R51 them right before you close.

VIDEO
WINGS

ABOUT
Make sure that the wings are
already decorated and all the
yarn is tucked in, except for
the one we will sew with.

ABBS
HEAD
Point A should always look
towards the head.

The two Points B will be

around R38 of the body and

INTRO
2-3 st apart. The two AE sides
should be on a straight line.
Once everything is aligned,
you can sew the wings to the

PATTERN
body around Points B (if your
yarn happens to stick out
from Point E instead of Point

B, just pull it through the
inside of the wing to the

HORNS

ABOUT
The horns will be curved out
and attached between R12 and
R16, 5 st apart.
You can sew them on with the

ABBS
left over yarn, if you use the
technique as in the video, don’t
forget to stuff them before VIDEO

closing the last stitches.

INTRO
PATTERN
EARS
The ears will be attached directly on the sides from the

NOTES
horns, as shown in the video.
VIDEO
EYE SHAPING

ABOUT
VIDEO

This technique is optional but very much recommended

because it makes a big difference in the look of the head.
This is done with white yarn that is thinner and stronger
than the one you used for the dragon.

ABBS
Mark some points below the chin of the dragon as your
starting points, as in pic. Pull yarn from the start point to
the eye, and back (on the way back your yarn should come
out one st away from the start point), tighten and make a
knot, make another knot and hide the yarn. Repeat on the

INTRO
other side.

PATTERN
EYEBROWS VIDEO

Take the thinner ends of the

NOTES
eyebrows and sew them on
starting between R5 and R6 of the
head (about 3-4 st apart), slightly
curving around the eyes and
finishing sewing right between the
horn and the ear (I recommend
sewing on both sides of the
eyebrow)
BACK SPINES (FUR)

ABOUT
VIDEO

This is done with furry yarn.

Starting right between the
eyebrows, as shown in the picture,
sc across each round all through

ABBS
the body and to the very end, you
may want to mark the line with
pins before you start to help
guide yourself.

INTRO
Then starting from one side of the
tail, sc through the middle of the
tail and to the end of the other
side.

PATTERN
Optional: You could make the
spines fluffier and spikier (like in
the last picture). For this, you will
be working on top of the single
crochets that you made in the

NOTES
first step. The following will be
repeated as many times as
necessary to get back to the other
side.
Sc, (hdc, dc, hdc) in same st, Sc,
Slst
Once, you are done, you can also
brush it, so it becomes even
fluffier.
