11. (4 sc, inc) x 6, 12 sc= 48
12-17. sc in each st around
Place eyes between rounds 9 and 10, leaving 12 holes between them. 1st eye is placed before
the 2nd increase. Count 12 holes after the first eye and place the 2nd eye. If you want the
sunken eye look, do not place the backs of the eyes on until round 21.
TIP! You may have to adjust the eye placement depending on yarn and hook size you use.
18. (6 sc, dec) 6= 42
19. sc in each st around
20. (5 sc, dec) x 6= 36
21. (4 sc, dec) x 6= 30
Now for the eyes. Stuff the head well. Cut a long piece of yarn and remove the eyes. Place the
needle in the hole where the first eye was and thread the needle into a hole next to the eye
hole. Go back and forth between each eye hole repeating the process from the first eye. Pull
slightly on the yarn after going through each hole. Do this about 3 times on each side until you
reach the look you want. Follow the pictures for help. There is also a youtube video I have for
extra help on this process.

To place the backs of the eyes you will need to remove most of the stuffing to place the
washers on the eyes then re stuff it.

                          Assembly
Head and Body:
    1. Thread the needle with a long strand of white yarn. Insert the needle into a hole in
between the eyes. Bring the needle to a lower corner on the eye. Wrap the needle
around the outside of the eye. Insert the needle into a hole on top of the eye. Pull a
little tightly. Repeat for the 2nd eye. Weave in any tail ends.
    2. Mark 4 spots with pins approximately between round 4 and 5. The pins will be
approximately 1 hole apart from each other. The sets of pins will be approximately 4
holes apart. Thread your needle with a long strand of yellow yarn. Insert the needle into
a hole on the head. Bring the needle up to a pinned spot. Embroider a nostril. Repeat for
the 2nd nostril. Weave in any tail ends.
    3. Pin the head to the body for extra support. You may need to add more stuffing as you
    sew.
    4. Sew the head to the body.
                                                                           Sweet Oddity Art 7

Arms:
    1. Pin the arms into a forward angle on the side of the body underneath the neck. There
are no certain round placements as I just try to decided based on look where the arms
    should go.
    2. Sew them onto the body.
                                                                          Sweet Oddity Art 9
Legs:
        1. Turn the body upside down with the nose facing away from you.
Pin the legs onto the bottom of the body approximately between rounds 4 and 5.
        2. Sew the legs onto the body
Horns:
        1. Take one pipe cleaner and cut it in half.
        2. Take one half of the pipe cleaner and fold it in half. Twist the pipe cleaner and fold
the sharp edge down. Insert the pipe cleaner into the bottom half of the horn. Cut the
pipe cleaner to size if you need to do that.
        3. Pin the horns approximately between rounds 14 and 16.
        4. Sew the horns onto the head.
                                                                                Sweet Oddity Art 10

You can use different eye and nose sizes. You might have to adjust the placements if you
change the sizes.
You can use different hook sizes and weights of yarn. It will just change the size of your giraffe
and you might need to adjust eye and nose placement.
How you stuff matters! The type of stuffing you use, how you stuff, all this matters on how your
giraffe turns out. I prefer Polyfil stuffing but you can use other types.
