All Rolls--Royce Model 250--C20 and --B17 series engines are affected by this bulletin.

B. Reason
Impellers (23058146) could have been modified without sufficient glass bead peening on the aft
side.

C. Description
This bulletin provides instructions to modify the impeller (23058146) by machining the pin off
that locates the 6th--stage compressor wheel. The impeller should be glass bead peened on the
aft side.

D. Approval
Technical aspects are FAA approved.

E. Compliance
Compliance Code 6. To be complied with no later than next overhaul or earlier at customer
option.
NOTE: Part obsolescence may require complying with this CEB.

F. Interchangeability -- Not affected

2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

A. Rework the impeller.
(1) Remove the compressor and rotor assembly (Ref. O/H).
(2) Disassemble the compressor and rotor assembly (Ref. O/H).
(3) Rework the impeller (23058146).
(a) Remove the indexing pin by grinding flush 0.000 to 0.005 in. below the surface.
(b) Do the fluorescent penetrant inspection, Type I, Method D for the impeller.
(c) Glass bead peen areas “AA” and “AB”.

(4) Reidentify the impeller.
(a) Reference AS478--7A2 to draw a line though the old part number (23058146). Make
sure you can still read the number.
(b) Reference AS478--7A2 to write the new part number (23058147) near the old part
number.
(5) Assemble the compressor and rotor assembly (Ref. O/H).
(6) Install the compressor assembly (Ref. OMM).
B. Record compliance in the Engine Log Book, Engine Assembly (white pages), Compressor
Assembly (blue pages), and Modification Record as applicable with the following:
