Five roles of motivation are increase in productivity, increased efficiency and effectiveness,

increased loyalty of the employees to the organization, Better Organizational Image, and
Accomplishment of Organizational Goals.

Roles means part played by a person in a particular situation

Motivation means reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way.

Organization means an organized group of people with a particular purpose, such as a business
or a government department.

Increase in productivity

Motivators like promotions create a drive for employees to work to the best of their capabilities.
As such, motivation in an organization will lead to an increase in the productivity of an
employee. The increase in production will lead to more capital being generated which will lead
to the expansion of the organization. Production rate in a organization is vital or necessary for
the growth of the organization. Increased labor productivity in turn results in higher wages for
employees.

Increase in efficiency and effectiveness

All the members of an organization try to be as efficient as possible and to improve upon their
skill and knowledge so that they may be able to contribute to the progress of the organization as
much as possible because they know that they will get what has been promised and ultimately
they will be able to satisfy their personal as well as social needs. Employers should be motivated
enough to work at their level best so that efficiency and effectiveness will increase every now
and then. Motivation bridges the gap between the ability to work and the willingness to perform
wholeheartedly and thereby increases the efficiency and output.

Increased in loyalty of the employees to the organization

Attractive motivational schemes satisfy the need of employees. As a result, their commitment to
organizational work increases. Employees do their tasks loyally and enthusiastically. They are
not tempted to leave the organization. This means reduced employee turnover. Employees attend
to their work regularly and sincerely so as to earn rewards. The organization benefits because it
is able to maintain a stable workforce. The skill and competence of employees continue to be
available to the organization. This enhances the image of the firm and helps it to secure the
services of competent people.
Better Organizational Image:

Motivation helps in improving an image of the organization. Employees produce more when
they are properly motivated. Highly motivated employees try to maintain a self- disciplined and
productive internal environment in the organization. This creates a better impression to the
outsiders partnering with the organization. Motivated employees also treat customer with care or
offers better service to the organization, this creates a better image for the organization .If the
employees of the organization are satisfied then they would satisfy the customers of the
organization, which in turn builds the goodwill of the organization.

Accomplishment of Organizational Goals:

Motivation helps in shaping the working behavior of the employees. It channelizes energy of
employees for achieving organizational goals. Highly motivated employees are more committed
and cooperative for seeking organizational objectives. Motivation ensures achievement of
organizational goals by meeting individual needs through a satisfactory system of rewards.
Setting a goal that is rewarding encourages employees to put their efforts in the direction of
organizational achievements. Employees very well know that if they would attain their targets,
they would get rewards.

Conclusion

Motivation is necessary for the growth of the organization and employees should also stay
motivated for the goals and achievements of the organization to be accomplished.
