                                           PATTERN INFORMATION
The Thekla Scarf is worked back and forth in 6x6 rib with narrow stripes using two colors.
In each end, you will work 2x2 rib.
You will increase after the 2x2 rib edge at the beginning and decrease again just before the 2x2
rib edge at the end of the piece.
Be careful not to pull the yarn too tight at the color changes along the edge.
Finally, block the piece to the given measurements to smooth out the edges and rib pattern.

                                           PATTERN
                                           SCARF
Using the long-tail cast-on CO 26 (38) sts on needles 4.5 with color A. Work back and forth in
2x2 rib with 2 selvage sts in each side like this:
                                           Row 1 (WS): k2, [p2, k2] across
                                           Row 2 (RS): sl2 wyif, [k2, p2] until 4 sts remain, k2, sl2 wyif.
Work back and forth like this with 2 selvage sts in each side with a stripe pattern alternating
between 2 rows with color A and 2 rows with color B until you have worked a total of 5 rows.
Finish with a complete stripe in color A.
Be careful not to pull the yarn too tightly when changing colors along the side of your work.
Change to color B and 6x6 rib, while at the same time increasing from RS of work like this:
                                           Row 1 (WS): k2, p6, k2, p 6 (6), k 0 (6), p 0 (6) , k2, p6, k2.
                                           Row 2 (RS): sl2 wyif, k6, M1LP, p2, 6 (6) r, p 0 (6), k 0 (6), p2, M1RP, k6, sl2 wyif. 2 sts
                                           increased.
Row 3: k2, work sts as they appear until 2 sts remain, k2.
                                           Row 4: sl2 wyif, k6, M1LP, work sts as they appear until 8 sts remain, M1RP, k6, sl2 wyif. 2 sts
                                           increased.
Repeat Rows 3-4 a total of 3 times. You have now increased 4 times in each side = 34 (46)
                                           sts.
Continue back and forth in stripes until your work measures 182 (192) cm / 72 (76) inches.
End with the first row in a color A stripe.
On the next row from the RS decrease in each side like this:
                                           Sl2 wyif, k5, k1, sl1, psso, work sts as they appear until 9 sts remain, k2tog, k5, sl2 wyif. 2 sts
                                           decreased.
Decrease like this every 2. row a total of 4 times = 26 (38) sts.
Change to color A and work 2x2 rib, like this:
                                           Row 1 (WS): k2, [p2, k2] across.
                                           Row 2 (RS): sl2 wyif, [k2, p2] until 4 sts remain, k2, sl2 wyif.
Work back and forth like this until you have worked a total of 5 stripes. End with an entire
stripe in color A. BO sts as they appear on the next row.
                                           FINISHING
Weave in all ends. Wash according to the yarn label and block in finished measurements.
