First, the author attended the school assembly in the morning where grade 4 students had to redo an exercise as punishment for not completing it earlier. Second, the author enjoyed watching younger students play musical instruments during the UAE national song at the assembly. Third, the author's mentor teacher asked if they wanted practice teaching a math lesson to the class that day in preparation for being observed teaching math the next day.

Reflection 5

October 16, 2017

It was an enjoyable day and I learned many things about


teaching math. Also, I learned how to manage the student's behavior
while I'm teaching them. First of all, as usual, I attended the assembly
the morning they will do it again after the other classes finished. It was a
grade 4 they didn't do the exercise then the coach said to them
"grade 4 do it again". I think it was a punishment for them
because they should do the exercise each morning in the
assembly time. I liked when the students who may be they are
grade 4 and 5 playing with different musical instruments when it
is UAE national song. They were very active and they look happy
when they play. After that, I went with my MST and the class to the class
and she asked me " do you want to practice teaching math
with the students today?" then I said yes I would like to
teach them in order to practice for tomorrow because I
will teach math lesson and my MCT will come and observe
me. I practiced teaching a math lesson using the student's
math books.
