This fun digital image from Polka Dot Orchard is great for so many different occasions, and it's now available in red rubber from Unity Stamps as well. I  was happy to find some map themed paper in my stash to go along with it.

God Made Us Friends

As soon as I saw this sentiment, I knew which friend I needed to make a card for. We've had plenty of serious conversations, but she also knows how to have fun and be crazy! My daughter always knows when I'm reading a text from her because I'm usually grinning before I finish.

Jesus Loves You

Ahh spring...I love when everything starts turning green, buds appear on the trees, and the earth "comes back to life" after winter is over.  It reminds me of what my favorite holiday, Easter, is all about -- New Life! Not only did Jesus rise from the dead on Easter morning, but He offers us a fresh start when we give our life to Him. Happy Easter my friend - Jesus loves you!

Today's card features a sweet digital stamp from Polkadot Orchard called "The Lamb of God."

Penguin Love Collaboration

Hello friends! Today my friend, Helen, and I are collaborating using Polka Dot Orchard's "Penguin Love" digital stamp set.  I created this mini cut-away-front Valentine card, and Helen made an adorable penguin shape card. (click here to see her sweet card)
Instead of coloring the heart the penguin is holding, I die cut one from red card stock and using my xacto knife I carefully cut this little guys flippers so I could tuck it in behind.  I created a second (smaller) one to decorate the inside of my card (pictured  below).

Home for the Holidays Collaboration

Hello friends! Today I have something FUN to share with you. Polka Dot Orchard has started a Collaboration Wednesday feature on their blog. Basically, anyone on their team can choose a friend to craft with! Our friend receives a digital stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard, and then creates something fun and unique to share with you.  I chose Helen Gullet and we used the "Home for the Holiday's" set for our projects today. Be sure to stop by Helen's blog and check out the beautiful card she created with this fun set!!

To create my truck shaped card I:
  • printed the digital image FIVE times
    • Two full sized images on blue cardstock
    • One of the tree on mixed media paper and
    • One of the fenders
    • One of the headlights
  • cut out the windows with an X-acto knife
  • inked the edges of BOTH full sized trucks with salty ocean distress oxide
  • colored the tree with Prismacolor pencils, added snow and a sparkly star and glued it to the back of my FIRST truck
  • cut two black circles and two white circles with Spellbinders nestabilities  -- glued them over the tires of the FIRST truck
  • added the white headlights and a fence to the bed of the SECOND truck
  • adhered the second truck to the first one using foam mounting tape to pop it up
  • inked the fenders with salty ocean ink and popped them up over the tires
  • die cut a wreath for the door and added a baker's twine bow
Supplies and tools:
  • Home for the Holidays digital stamp set (Polka Dot Orchard)
  • Prismacolor Pencils
  • Aleene's Glitter Snow
  • Star die (Firefly)
  • Farm Fence Die (Honeybee Stamps)
  • Pine Wreath die (Memory Box)
  • Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
  • Golden Rod Glitter Embossing Powder (Ranger)
  • Baker's Twine
  • Foam Mounting Tape
  • These colors of distress oxide (Ranger)
    • Walnut Stain
    • Salty Ocean

Holiday Cheer

Hello friends. Today I have an oversized Christmas tag to share with you that includes lots of layers and plenty of texture!

To make my sweet vintage girl stand out a bit more, I layered a piece of white card stock on cardboard and embossed it with a lace embossing folder before die cutting, distressing the edges, and adding it to the center of my die cut doily.

To add fun texture to my tag I embossed my flower with blizzard baked texture, distressed the edges of my sentiment, and added jewels, pearls, and a baker's twine bow!
