Set in the Ozark Mountains, Lucas Frost is an honest man brought up in a crime family whose only legacy is violence. Despite its cliched plot its aesthetic holds this tragedy together very well. Violent Ends could have been a classic if the audience had a chance to spend more time with the characters both before and after the inciting incident. Billy Magnussen tries his best but isn’t completely successful in this attempt. However, this pulpy kind of filmmaking just works for me.
