They said that my bill should be lower a couple of months ago and it actually has been even higher, might change soon

This was the first time I used the website and I had a question. Less than 10 minutes I received an email from Christine. That is great service and staff.

Worst service. They will come to your place and say that we offer less price than duke energy and later they increase the 3-4 times more than duke energy. Currently duke is 10.6 cents per KWH whereas IDT is charging 24-26 cents per KWH which is completely illegal. Please don't go to IDT.

No complaints , Mae sure you read the current policy, it changes annually.

These people showed up at my apt building this morning ringing everyone's buzzer stating that they were from "the county" and they needed entry to the building to inspect the meters and see every tenants electric bills. They were told numerous times that they were not getting access to the building and needed to leave the property. They refused over and over again until the door was shut in their face. Even after, the guy continued to talk thru the door saying that they will get access to the building and they will be back! Utterly unprofessional and disgusting behavior. Scam scam scam

My experience with IDT Energy's representatives was extremely negative.

Two individuals identifying themselves as IDT Energy representatives entered our condominium building and refused to leave after being told they were not authorized to remain on the property. As a condo owner and board member, I repeatedly asked them to leave, but they continued soliciting until I called 911.

After leaving the building, they later initiated another conversation with me outside and accused me of harassing them. They also challenged my status as a property owner, claimed I did not own property or pay property taxes, and made comments about my appearance.

I was especially concerned by the personal comments about my appearance and the repeated assertions that I was not a property owner. While I cannot know their intentions, I am left wondering whether those remarks would have been directed at me if I were a man.

The issue is not that they were soliciting. The issue is how they behaved when asked to leave and how they treated a resident afterward. I found the interaction unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate.

The salesperson representing IDT Energy at my residence failed to disclose the risks inherent in a variable rate plan, including the potential for substantial cost escalation. He also failed to follow the company’s stated protocol requiring him to leave the premises and allow the customer to complete the enrollment independently. Instead, he remained at my doorstep, continued to pressure me to finalize the enrollment, and instructed me to tell the verification operator that he had already left the property, which was untrue. Had he followed proper procedure, I would have had the opportunity to ask clarifying questions, review the terms, and evaluate the risks before making a decision.
The salesperson then entered his personal phone number into my phone under the pretense of providing a contact for questions. He immediately called his own phone from mine, thereby capturing my personal number. I interpreted this as an intimidation tactic, leaving me concerned that he—or the company—might contact me in a threatening manner if I reported the incident or attempted to cancel the account. This interaction caused significant discomfort and concern for my family’s safety.
Following enrollment, I was informed that I would receive a promotional gift card. After meeting all stated requirements, I contacted IDT Energy on May 12 to cancel my account. During that call, I was told that the gift card had already been mailed that same day, and I was offered additional gift cards as an incentive to remain enrolled. I declined and proceeded with cancellation. I was then told that my account needed to remain active for the gift card to be activated—despite the company’s prior claim that it had already been mailed. When the card arrived, it was time stamped May 18, 2026, clearly contradicting the company’s earlier representation. This indicates that IDT Energy knowingly misrepresented the mailing date and withheld the card until after my cancellation request, seemingly to prevent activation by ensuring my account would no longer be active.
Additionally, I was informed that my service would terminate at the next meter reading cycle. That cycle has already passed, yet my termination has been delayed until the second meter reading, contrary to the company’s stated policies. I believe the disconnect request was intentionally delayed to keep me enrolled for an additional billing cycle.
Taken together, these actions demonstrate a consistent pattern of deceptive, unethical, and predatory conduct. IDT Energy misrepresented promotional benefits, provided false information regarding the status of the gift card, failed to disclose material pricing risks, and appears to have manipulated the timing of my service termination to extend billing beyond what is contractually appropriate.

illegally signed us up,try to say we signed up thru a door to door Rep which we did not. never knew we were signed up till our gas and Electric bills came in from Peco. big hassle to cancel it. also had a email account we never heard of saying thats how the sign up was done.

This service is not only appreciative & appreciated ,It’s a blessing to most.
Most people can’t afford things because of bills gotta be paid .
If anything IDT Energy should be considered family to our family for the services they provide.
