Slack is the definition of Software…
Slack is the definition of Software En$hittification!
Slow, clunky, slow, unintuitive, slow, rendering as a web app which it is, hell to log in and slow.
Missing absolute basic functionalities and bloated with lots of redundant annoying slop.
Most definitely the worst software i used up to date. Cannot wait until someone comes in with a fast native app.
Basically a virus.
Basically a virus.
Once you sign it keeps spamming emails on emails, you opt-out, block the sender and they just keep spamming.
There is no way of deleting the account, just to " Deactivate" it, contacting the support was a nightmare.
Terrible interface.
For me Slack has one of the worst messaging interfaces ever. I'm a casual user forced to use it because one of my software suppliers uses it for support. It's just so non intuitive. I cant find the channels for my different projects easily, and I keep on getting alerted to messages that I haven't read but then can't find them. I hate the thread system when you've got multiple threads on the go and I don't like the fact that hitting the enter key sends your message rather than taking you to a new line. Email is soooo much easier to use.
Absolute hell to log into
Absolute hell to log into. Seems every week i asks me these excessive log in credentials to the point rather not. Every week it does this! My Swiss bank is easier
Messages getting stuck
Having constant glitches lately. Messages either don't send or show up hours later. Google Drive links also keep failing to load. It's really slowing down our team's work.
Not What I Expected
The interface is okay, but sometimes it feels clunky. Plus, I had issues with slow notifications.
The end of all communication and broken…
The end of all communication and broken 2FA… Stay away it will waste your time. 2FA brokenm loggikng issues, you will lose messages. Google Hangouts is free folks...dont fall for this scam
It keeps sending unsolicited spam…
It keeps sending unsolicited spam emails even after unsubscribing multiple times. Even blocking it via email provider is not possible, because they keep spamming from a randomly generated email each time. Absolutely scumbag company
Best messenger for work ever
Hands down, Slack is the best messenger for work for me by far. They have easy to use interface, great Threads and good automation features.
Furthermore, they don't show read receipts that is great.
Great Team Communication Tool with Some Room for Improvement
Slack is a very useful tool for team communication and daily collaboration. It makes it easy to organize conversations, share updates, and keep work discussions in one place. I like that most teams and clients are already familiar with it, so onboarding is usually simple.
The channels, direct messages, and integrations are helpful for managing different projects and keeping everyone connected. It works well for quick communication and helps reduce long email threads.
However, it can feel cluttered at times, especially when there are too many channels, threads, and notifications. The notification settings can also be confusing, and some messages may be easy to miss. Pricing can feel a bit high compared to other tools as well.
Overall, Slack is still a strong collaboration platform and a reliable choice for teams, but it would be better with a cleaner interface, improved notifications, and more affordable pricing.
terrible company with a terrible…
terrible company with a terrible product there are 100 other options and you would be better off with anyone of them
Cancelled the subscription the same day…
Cancelled the subscription the same day as renewal, they stop the pro featured right away even if I already paid for the month, kept the money and give me back £7 in Slack credit. What a joke!
Excellent webhook routing and automation.
We’ve integrated Slack as the primary notification layer for all our automated workflows, and it has been essential for maintaining visibility across our decentralized environment. By routing custom webhooks directly into dedicated channels, we’ve eliminated the need for manual status checks and reduced internal email volume by roughly 60%. The documentation for building custom apps is top-tier, and hooking it into our n8n workflows to monitor lead generation data was completely frictionless. The only drawback is notification bloat—if you don't aggressively manage channel triggers, the signal-to-noise ratio quickly becomes a distraction. However, the ability to trigger actions and standardize requests directly from a message thread has saved our team significant bandwidth. Solid, essential infrastructure.
All history just dissapeared in one single moment
We experienced a very serious issue with Slack that caused significant disruption to our business.
On April 1st, without any warning, our Slack workspace suddenly stopped working. We lost access to all our corporate communication, including years of chats and history. We had been using the paid version for over 5 years, so this came as a complete shock.
After researching online and contacting support, we were informed that Slack had stopped working with companies in Hong Kong. Support claimed that notifications had been sent in advance, but we could not find any such emails. Even if they were sent, it is unreasonable not to provide clear in-app notifications or pop-ups for something this critical.
We later discovered that many other companies faced the same issue, as widely discussed online.
After multiple attempts to contact support and escalating the issue through various channels, our company was eventually migrated to a European account. However, despite being restored to a paid plan, we still do not have access to our historical chats. Years of communication with clients and partners have simply disappeared.
What is most concerning is the lack of response from support. It has now been over two weeks since our initial requests, and the issue remains unresolved. Our messages are being ignored, and no clear solution has been provided.
This is unacceptable for a platform that positions itself as a corporate communication tool. A company cannot rely on a service that can abruptly lose all historical data and fail to provide adequate support afterward.
In our case, our entire communication history was effectively lost overnight, and no one from support has been able to help us recover it till now
Slack deleted our company workspace and now won't respond…
Slack deleted our company workspace without any clear in-product warning, no visible banner, and no notice that reached us in a way that actually prevented damage. From our side, it looked exactly like a compromise or malicious deletion. We lost access suddenly, team members lost contact, and we spent an entire day treating it as a serious security incident and locking down other systems.
After contacting support, we were told the workspace had been shut down because of a regional policy change. We explained that the Hong Kong side of the business had already been closed, that the business is now run from New Zealand, and that the relevant assets had been moved to the NZ company. We asked for restoration or at least a proper path to preserve the data and update the account details.
Instead of addressing the substance of the issue, support gave a generic response and then closed the ticket.
The worst part was not only the shutdown itself, but how it was handled: no effective warning, no meaningful help once the damage was done, and no real appreciation of the operational stress this caused. For a company of this size, this was handled in an extremely poor and unprofessional way.
If you rely on Slack for business-critical communication, be aware that sudden account disruption can happen in a way that is indistinguishable from compromise, and support may not help in a meaningful way afterward.
(Un) fair Billing Policy
I cancelled my Slack membership as I have not used the tool for a long time now, and the only way to get any benefit from the credits is by resubscribing to their services. Their policies do not allow refunds to the method of billing or transfers to other accounts. This should be investigated by the FTC.
Calling their billing policy "fair" does not make it fair.
Good luck getting them to stop billing!
Good luck getting them to stop billing!
I closed my account with Slack. Got a bill in the next month. Their "intuitive user interface" is a joke when it goes to trying to manage the account or understand what is going on, and they have zero customer service at all. Their chat bot points you to a customer service number for Sales Force which won't help you with anything relating to slack so it is actively trolling customers.
Good for teams but gets cluttered.
Good but too many notifications.
Smooth integrations and user-friendly UX/UI
I liked the way everything is organised in Slack. I mean the interface is intuitive and none of my team never complained about it. I also appreciate smooth integrations with tools like Google Drive, Calendar, Calamari, Zoom, which help to check status updates, requests, files without leaving one app. Perfect!
