No samples.

Love samples to check a product out. Never have containers to give anything. I think I'll be going to sephora.

Bad service

My husband bought Black Opium for me because I wear Opium. They are not the same. I tried to return the totally unopened package. Nope...not without a receipt even tho their sticker was still on the pkg. Not even store credit. Said I needed my husband's charge #. Called husband from store & got his charge info. They then said he needed to be there in person with his card. The next day my husband took the perfume & his charge cards. Store could find no record of his purchase. We went home to the papers on his desk. Found the receipt where he had used 1 of the chg cards he had taken in earlier. We will NEVER take our business there again Last night we joined 7 friends for dinner. Guess what I told them?! Bad word of mouth will kill a business Manassas, VA store

Horrible service

My sister and I are frequent shoppers at Ulta in Gulfport, Ms. Today my sister went and had a very horrible experience. She had my 1 year old niece with her and had her in a shopping cart and went into the store with it and was told by an employee that she was not aloud to have the cart in the store that she would need to to carry my niece. I have never been infuriated in my life. The reason behind the story was that a shopping cart is dangerous because if a fire were to break out it could be dangerous to her and the other shoppers!! I will be contacting the corporate office first thing Monday Morning.

Customer Service Disconnect!

It's unreal! I have had and continue to have payment processing issues that are due to issues with the ulta.com website and when I call customer service for assistance, I get 'we will send this to corporate for review' from the Customer Service department. This goes back to December 9 and I am still waiting for assistance on January 3 so I can make some purchases. How can it be that it is almost a MONTH and no contact after at least 3 calls? Do I need to beg them to give them money??? Does Ulta not care to retain a good wanna be customer? I have almost $500 in my basket and yet, I'm still waiting. This is my very first review ever, just so fed up!

It's okay, but not the best

I've had it happen to me twice now that i order something and i try to use my points and it freezes and then kicks me off the page and i have to go back in and my points are no longer available. The second time i placed an order the same thing happened.

Online Order Frustration

I wish Ulta would let their customer service reps know how to fix payment processing errors. I've called 3 times within the last month trying to get help to place an online order. Still no resolution. I've been given different reasons each time I call about why I'm getting a payment processing error. The customer service reps seem to be just guessing & hoping to move on to the next call because they don't know how to help. It doesn't seem right that I'm practically begging to fix this issue so I can give Ulta money & nobody seems to care. I have absolutely no issues ordering online with any other company. I'm at the point of giving up & moving on to another beauty supply company. I'm finding it's too frustrating & time consuming to be an Ulta customer!

I order from them often products I use consistently, but when deals occur I am able to try new products or different products from the same brands name. the buy 2 get 1 free for certain hair products was amazing. I order one item I was running low on and another that I needed an extra of, for when I run out, and the product I had never tried but wanted to was free, basically, the lowest priced item is the free one but I was going to purchase the 2 either way. but I rec8have had issues of packages being taken while I'm gone, no fault to ulta or my mail carrier but they were helpful in helping me get what I needed and the ability to have a signature provided. high quality process that I love like kenra, cosmetics brands, and for dermatology so I can care for my face and prevent the aging process the best I can. high quality and much more affordable than getting product from a dermatologist, or skin spa. my products are always sent fast and if I have any issues I can return in store. whereas some companies panties don't have stores just online. I love ulta biggest fan!!! best quality and expectations on pricing are surprisingly low versus a salon, for the same product. they also have quite a large variety of salon product brands!!! always will be an ulta fan :)

Never get back to you, will not resolve issues

Ulta associates are rude in the stores at best, but if you purchase online expect even more hassle. If you need a return, just keep it, they will put you through a lot of hassle and you'll have to endure stares and whispers by associates at the store. If you email them about your online order they say they will get back to you in 72 hours. They actually do not return emails. If you call their service number, the phone agents are not allowed to handle anything and therefore tell you someone else will call you within five days. Sephora blows them out of the water. If Sephora doesn't carry it, it's not worth trying to purchase at Ulta!

Displeased

I purchased an online order. It was processed twice. I called to cancel one of the transactions & they will not cancel. They said I have to call my CC company to get them to do it and of course that means it actually has to clear. The amount of the transaction will put that CC over the limit for that card before I get paid to pay it off & will now cost me a fee for going over my limit. I will never purchase an online purchase from ULTA again. Wasn't worth it.

Extremely irresposible customer service

Ulta does not care about its shipments. Though I provided my correct address, I did not receive the package due to insufficient address. And ULTA's response was - I DONT CARE.
Customers BEWARE. Do not order anything from ULTA

Fine unless you actually need customer service

For the most part, the online experiences I've had with Ulta have been good. They ship my items quickly. I've only returned to the store but that was easy enough. (And it's the closest thing I've had to a positive interaction with anyone working here.) They do lots of good "premium sample" promotions. I'm pretty sure I'll never actually have to buy Urban Decay's All Nighter spray because they keep offering freebie trial sized ones.

It's worth knowing that they really jack up the prices on their drugstore brand items. Even if they're buy one get one half off, you're still paying more per item than if you just went to Target.

Here's what I've learned shopping with them:

1) Try to avoid paying them via PayPal because that is prone to issues. I've had PayPal swear I've placed an order but Ulta won't get it. This is the ONLY retailer where I ever have issues with PP.

2) I am not sure what sort of titles their employees have but I am certain there is no way on this green earth that any of them include the words "customer service" because I'v never received anything resembling that in their stores or online.

3) On that note, their "24 hour response time" to customer service e-mails is actually somewhere between 3 days and never.

Moral of the story: If you pay with a credit card, chances are you'll get your order fairly quickly. It's just god help you if there's some problem because no one at Ulta will.

Excellent!

My hair was thin and unmanageable. I was diagnosed with Thyroid disease and then put on medication. So new hair was coming in and it was really curly when my remaining hair was fine and straight, making it really hard to style. I had gone to other salons but nothing helped. I was in Milwaukee visiting my daughter in college. She suggested we go to the Ulta in Milwaukee just to ask some questions. (She had someone at the Ulta Salon fix her bad hair color job she got at Aveda and was very pleased) The salon manager invited me to sit down in her chair and she analyzed my hair. She told me about a Keratin treatment. I have heard of Keratin treatments to straighten hair but she told me this would give me body. It would relax the new really curly hair but not straighten it and will last 3 months. I asked if she had any openings later that day. She was finished working at 5:00 but offered to stay later to do my hair! It turned out fabulous! I am so happy! She also put some highlights in my hair and trimmed it. I asked her for shampoo, conditioner and style product recommendations. I absolutely love the products! I will drive the extra distance to have my hair done there every time (which is 5 hours)!

return

Nancy was awesome at Hodgkins ulta. She was compassionate and kind with a very sensitive issue. I was losing my hair...and my mind. But she helped me feel better and was willing to take back product that didn't work. She's the best!!

Ulta.com associates cannot change or cancel on line orders

Received an email offering 6 hr Beauty Break 4pc Benefits sampler with any purchase of $60.00 ...my purchase was for 67.00, however the 4 pc Benefits gift was not automatically added in my cart. Called the "Guest Services" number to inform them of the issue, only to find out that they cannot help you by adding, cancelling or doing anything to your order except explain what they cannot do! Most on line services are able to make this type adjustment or even cancel an order!!! Terrible customer service from one of the largest retail cosmetic companies....Not a good experience.. Unhappy and upset.

Decent

Ulta usually doesn't disappoint me whenever I order online. I love their rewards point system, and they usually ship on time and arrive at my door within 4 days. However, it seemed like this good service was only limited to my big orders. Whenever I order small orders (less than $40), my boxes never get shipped until 4 days after I order, so I never receive my boxes within the week. I also never get my free samples in my small orders, even though I clearly checked for them before checkout. I also never got my order form in one of my small order boxes.
They never tell you a product is out of stock until you checkout, which really is inconvenient since most companies tell you it is out of stock before you even add it to your bag. Also, they don't provide free return shipping unlike the *other* beauty company.
Returning is such a big pain though - at least returning through shipping. It doesn't take too long to get a refund, but rarely do I ever get the right refund. The first time I returned 2 items in the same box, I was supposed to be refunded $18, but only got a mere $9 back. So I was like, "Okay maybe it's cause I used some of my reward points in this order, and I also got the coupon dollars off." And plus, it was only $9, so I didn't bother to threaten them. The second time I returned 2 items once again, I should've got $42 back, but ended up only getting $21 back. So I sent an email to customer service, and they came back with a $20 gift card. Okay...that may be enough to shut some people up, but I want my cash back, not another sneaky way to get me to spend more money only on your site. And also, if I was being pesky, I would've emailed back and said, "You're missing a dollar from that gift card." And besides, what if I wanted to get $21 back to spend on food or toiletries; not on Ulta?! Maybe it's their new way of getting more people to spend money on their site, or their new way of refunding, but not actually giving back your money, but I am not pleased with the returns, and I can read and comprehend the return policy, and it says that it gives FULL refund to all products you are unsatisfied with. I would most definitely take my returns to a physical store if I had a car and the nearest ulta wasn't on another island.

Horrible customer service

I was charged for items on my credit card that were out of stock. They were never mailed to me and I got a surprise when I opened the box and one item was in there. I've been calling and emailing ulta for over two weeks and still didn't get a refund! The worst company I have ever placed an order with! Don't ever order from ulta.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
