A horrible mess of being passed around…

A horrible mess of being passed around to people who ask you to confirm who you are ("what was your high school mascot?), but can't help you. The voice activated system is infuriating.

I'm potentially investing a lot money with them and this is how they operate? No thanks.

Don’t give them your business

Don’t give them your business. If they have it, transfer out as soon as you can. I have Reshell on the line who was not helpful at all. Put me on hold just to tell me that they cannot help me. As much as I don’t like their business practices, Meryl lynch has way better customer service or Go with transamerica. Anyone except vanguard

Everything is bumpy and difficult with…

Everything is bumpy and difficult with Vanguard... to rollover my retirement took one year! First they were selling some branch of Vanguard to another business, Ascent - therefore they could not process the transaction. Then, the paperwork I submitted (by mail only!) was rejected because the form they sent me was outdated. Then another paperwork went in, this time they rejected the date. Then, when it all finally collided, they sent me the pay-off which never arrived. So we are still hobbling along, second check is being reissued - and we are at 13 months of moving the funds! - I am so glad to be ending my relationship with Vanguard.

Instituted a “new policy” of charging $100 to close any account per account (unless you have more than $5m in the account. I’ve been with them 20+ years. Over $2m in 5 accounts. I’m done with them. Cost me $500. I called to request a supervisor, put on endless hold. Never picked up. They said they have expenses to close an account. I asked what expenses, they said someone has to click on a screen to make the automated system close the account. Sure, that’s about a $100 expense per account right there! Go elsewhere.

I opened three new investing accounts…

I opened three new investing accounts for my husband and me. We later chose to close them all and Vanguard, by FAR, was the worst to close an account with. We literally had to call them 6 times. They make it extremely difficult to close and transfer your funds back. We will never use them again for future investing.

I wasted over 3 hours getting transferred from one department to another department regarding an easy request to update basis information. I spoke with well over 12 individuals and received conflicting information. No one even bothered to apologize or express any empathy for the issues that we experienced. I asked to get transferred to a supervisor or team lead, but none of the calls were escalated. Do NOT work with Vanguard. Horrible company!!

I live overseas and have had a Vanguard acct for quite a while. For the last year I have been unable to access the account online. The website says it is temporarily experiencing technical difficulties and have been assured this is not because I am not in the US. The only way for me to conduct any business with them is to call them from my US telephone number. Today it took 5 minutes for a rep to tell me why i had received an email informing me that I had a confirmation for a transaction. It turns out I had been charged a service fee. I'm done.

The absolute epitome of terrible customer service

Vanguard's customer support could not be worse. It's actually amazingly terrible - the epitome of bad customer service. First, 9 out of 10 times that you try to use their website to get an answer to your question, you get an error message that says "Your request cannot be completed. We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again later." Then, when you call Vanguard you get an absolutely antiquated automated system. After a few long minutes there, if you have the patience to get through all of the ridiculous prompts, you can be connected with someone who won't be able to help you but will transfer you to someone else. Then, you'll be put on hold listening to funeral home music until finally, after about 30 minutes, you get frustrated and hang up.

Vanguard has lost it's way

Vanguard has lost it's way. I've been a Vanguard account holder for the last 22 years & Vanguard seems to be more interested in raising it's fees than making sure it's website does not crash on 8/05/24 - one of the biggest down days of the stock market. Their customer service dept. overall has also suffered in the last few years & continues to go down. Do your homework before opening a new account with Vanguard.

Vanguard is great UNTIL you need…

Vanguard is great until you need customer support. The automated process to "get you to the right place" is impossible. It took 3 transfers to get to the correct person. They are not knowledgeable on inherited accounts and I have had to contact them multiple times to get the accounts opened. They refuse to help through the messaging system. I was messaged I have to call them. While I prefer not to sit on the phone telling the automated system and multiple people about my mother's unexpected death. Heartless and clunky customer service.

Poor fitment

Purchased a quickshifter for my Honda found cable to short to quick shifter and cable to battery was 200mm to short . Very disappointed having stripped the bike down .

Vanguard cheats retail traders by…

Vanguard cheats retail traders by giving favor to large investment firms. Outage for "maintenance" two days ago when the market was at it's lowest. Yet buying the big dip ensued anyway. I read that numerous retail investors said the same thing. They're cheats and will their user interface is garbage.

Do not choose Vanguard!

Vanguard used to be a good platform but for the past several years the customer service is abysmal, and they nickel and dime you and charge fees for everything. Stay away! There are so many other great brokerages out there!

called three times and after by on the line over 30 minutes never got to talk to a representative. The one time i did get through, they said I needed to talk to someone else and sent me to line that was shortly disconnected. Hire some damn people. Customer service should not be where you save money. What is sad, is that for years your service was excellent.

Good ETF costs

Good ETF costs, and selection of products.
Sometimes poor advisor support, and online site/tools have been degrading.
Impression, after 10 yrs., is that they are backing away from customer support.
They may be becoming a victim of their own success.

Worst experience possible

Vanguard customer "service" is an absolute joke. They can't do a single thing right at all, even when you're trying to do the most basic thing possible. If you want to be on the phone endlessly with someone who barely even knows what's going on and can't explain anything at all, this is the investment company for you! I wish I could give half a star, but they don't even deserve that. It's absolutely ridiculous that any company could be this utterly horrible at doing their literal job. You could put a literal 2-year old on the line and they would be able to do a better job, no question

Intentionally Bad Customer Service

I know this does nothing because they don't care or they would have already changed, but Vanguard's customer service is miserable. I'm trying to open an account with them and it takes HOURS to get ahold of a human, most of whom do not know answers and transfer to the wrong department repeatedly. They also don't offer the ability to schedule calls.

If in doubt contact Vanguard Support Team.

I could not work out how to invest into ETF ISA's so I phoned Vanguards customer support, and thank goodness I did.

I thought that I was doing everything correctly until I spoke with Dimitri who pointed out where I was making mistakes.

Dimitri was extremely patient and polite and he soon put me on the track that I needed to be on.

A great big Thank You Dimitri,

Kind regards Geoff & Tracey.
