Based on a personal experience with We Buy Any Cars in Lawrenceville, GA, here's what potential customers should know:
Online vs. In-Person Discrepancy:
Initial online appraisal was $885 for a 2008 Honda Pilot (368k miles)
In-person offer drastically reduced to $300, showing significant bait-and-switch tactics
Vehicle Condition:
Car was in functional condition with working AC, lights, radio, and decent leather Had a dent and mismatched hood color (note: Honda hoods can typically be painted professionally)
Red Flags:
Located in an isolated-looking building at 248 East Crogan Street
Company made follow-up calls after negative Google review
Failed to honor online appraisal value
Planned to recondition and resell through buy-here-pay-here financing
Recommendation: Avoid this location and seek alternative sellers. This appears to be a classic case of deceptive pricing tactics.

Hi Brian,
We hear your feedback and take your review seriously. We’re sorry to learn we missed the mark delivering a positive experience for you. Our Lawrenceville, GA location has a 5-star rating from our customers, so our leadership team is eager to connect with you 1-on-1 to better understand how your experience differed and most importantly, restore your trust in our service.
First, we’re sorry if our location came across as isolated or intimidating, that’s not our intention. It’s true we are in the building behind the bakery and salon. We don’t sell cars; therefore, we don’t need a large showroom or tons of space. We keep things simple, and it allows us to open locations that are in local neighborhoods and towns. While the other guys may have one or two locations scattered about, webuyanycar.com has 12 locations serving local Atlanta communities.
I understand there is a park across the street, which if the pickleball courts aren’t lit up, could be dark at night. I have asked the Area Manager to review the branch to see if there are any improvements that can be made to make the area more inviting to our customers. Our mission is to provide a safe, comfortable atmosphere for everyone.
Regarding the valuation of your 2008 Honda, first we want to say that bait and switch is an illegal and immoral business practice and does not happen at webuyanycar.com. Our online valuation tool is great for getting an idea of what your vehicle is worth, but it’s based off the information provided to us by our customers. It is not a firm offer to purchase your vehicle. We have that listed on our website’s disclaimers, FAQs and in emails you receive about your valuation.
Like any reputable buyer we need to run a vehicle history report and perform a physical inspection of the vehicle to confirm the reported condition. If we identify issues, we were previously unaware of, we need to take them into consideration when making our firm offer. Unlike car dealerships who take your vehicle around back, we invite our customers to join us during this process so they can see what we see. It’s all part of our commitment to transparency. You should have been invited to join our Branch Manager and our leadership team will investigate to understand if our process was followed.
Reviewing the detailed notes for the Honda Pilot, I see when the online valuation was completed a dent to the rear bumper was disclosed online, however, our Branch Manager uncovered additional reconditioning concerns. These issues included multiple dashboard lights illuminated, poor previous repair to the hood, and the vehicle was reported in six separate accidents. I have included the information below for full transparency.
• 06/04/2008 – Right front impact with another vehicle • 08/02/2009 – Damage to the right front corner • 07/03/2011 – Vehicle damage reported • 10/14/2011 – Left rear impacted reported • 07/01/2022 – Accident reported • 07/21/2022 – Accident /Damage reported
Unfortunately, this newly discovered information is well outside typical wear and tear. With the rough condition and the odometer reading 368,493 miles, we needed to modify what we could offer for this vehicle.
We take customer service seriously; it’s why our leadership team is calling. We believe in going above and beyond to deliver a positive outcome. We want nothing more than to connect with you directly and address your concerns. We know you have many options when selling a vehicle, if we can listen to your feedback and tackle your concerns, we’d love the opportunity to restore your faith and buy your car.
Kind Regards, Kevin, on behalf of webnuyanycar.com
I was skeptical about the process involved. Josh made me comfortable right away. He was very professional and knowledgeable about buying my vehicle. I am grateful for his sincere desire to help me and make the process easier! I would encourage anyone looking to sell their vehicle to use WBAC. If you are fortunate, you will have Josh assisting you!
Dorian made me feel comfortable, and he was very informative about the process. Dorian was very hands on, and explained why I might see a price drop in the offer that was given to me in the beginning. I was satisfied with the whole experience.
Gabriel was honest and very easy to do business with. She was clear about the process and very transparent throughout the assessment. I would always recommend coming here if you don't want to deal with the hassle of private sale.
Overall, The service was good and the rep was professional, but the offer for my car was definitely not good. I'm sure I could have done better but my situation limited my time.
I believe Lou was the representative that helped my wife and I, along with his trainee. They were both very genuinely friendly and helpful. Lou explained the process and made everything clear. Overall we would highly recommend this location to friends and family.
Ryan and Chase were super friendly and very professional. They did a great job. I think the most important thing for a seller to remember is to be realistic when bringing a vehicle in to be evaluated. Decide before you go what you are willing to accept.
As soon as we parked, we were met at the door by Terri. She was welcoming, friendly, and sympathetic. My niece is in FL attending school and had worked all summer long the previous summer to purchase a car. Unfortunately, she purchased it from an unethical, dishonest dealership in OH and within 3 months, the engine was no longer working. We reviewed a few different businesses that purchase vehicles and chose this one because of the stellar reviews. Terri showed us the additional issues the car had that we were unaware of and put our minds at ease knowing we made the right decision to sell vs repair. She made the process easy and turned a not so great day into a better one. She got my niece the maximum amount she could for her vehicle. I hope you never have to deal with purchasing a lemon, but if you do and the repairs exceed the value of the car, I FULLY recommend this company! Terri is a cherry on top!
Gabriel and his colleague showed up exactly when expected. They were courteous and expedient. Everything was completely taken care of in the time it took me to have a couple of cups of coffee. I would definitely use the service again if I needed to do so.
We were told exactly what the procedure would be to get the vehicle sold and also an approximate time it would take to complete the process. Also, the manager was very knowledgeable and his customer service was excellent.
They were super friendly amazing easy to talk to. I didn’t feel pressured at all was a great experience will definitely be using them again in the future!
The experience with Danny Munoz was very good. He was clear, straightforward, and made the process very easy and seamless. Highly recommend dealing with Danny, I believe his assessment of the car was very accurate.
At first I was disillusioned by the price on the website and reality. The reasons for lowering the price is a joke ($500 because the car is financed, $399 for fees) Once I saw that all the sites similar excuses I just chalked it up to poor marketing. You should tell people what to expect. Asking if you have a clean title is confusing. You should ask if the car is financed instead. To me, a clean title means the car wasn’t totaled and then rebuilt. Once I got to the location, Bob was way to deal with and knowledgeable. Getting the check at the end was a bonus. I was expecting to hear it would come after Capital One was paid.
We sold another car several years ago at the same location and they had the best price. Jon is great to work with. Got dinged in the quoted price for some very minor paint chips on the hood but he accepted a counter offer from us to get us close to the original offer.
Jeff was great and made the entire process easy. Not happy with the higher quote over 1,000 but ending up with only $300. I understand it was because of the damage from the hot and run accident. Should have been able to send pics for a more accurate quote than needing to travel from home. I could have had someone come to house and pick it up for same amount.
