Typing Tennis code is closed source, but I still wanted to have a way for users to submit feedback or post any news.
Typing Tennis is a game where you type words to move your character and hit the ball. The first player types HIT to serve, the returning player types HIT to ready themselves, then enters their return word (say, APPLE). The serving player has until the ball reaches them to type APPLE to reposition themselves to return the ball, then their own return word. Keep going until one of you fails to type the two words in the allotted time.
There are two primary modes:
- Daily: Every day a random dictionary of words is generated, and you type the word that shows up. The more you type the less time you're given for each word. See how many you can get, you'll only get one chance for the day!
- Versus: The classic Typing Tennis game mode. Facing off against either a CPU or FRIEND (human) you take turns hitting reposition and return words trying to trip the other player up.
I require character motivation and backstory to feel invested in the story of a game about typing and tennis, a Typing Tennis, if you will
The courts of Earth were silent and green...
Until the sky darkened with the shadow of Grandmaster Glitch.
A being of pure syntax, he challenged us to the Infinite Rally.
Our physical strength meant nothing against his verbal velocity.
Mocking our slowness, he bestowed upon us the Glyph-Racquet.
A strange device that fuses kinetic force with vocabulary...
Type with precision, and the flow of time itself will bend to you.
Your words become power, striking back with radiant energy!
Now, step onto the court. Defeat the Glitch, or serve forever.
