The product was renamed Sage → Juniper → Conifer. Install the current desktop and CLI apps from conifer.build.
This repository remains the release-distribution channel for Conifer desktop
builds: GitHub releases tagged desktop-v* carry signed installers and the
auto-update manifest (latest.json). The current releases/latest serves
Conifer 2.0.19. This is not the app's source code. Only the Sage-era root
scripts, branding, and old Sage_* release assets are historical; do not use
old Sage-branded release downloads.
Use the current installer for your platform:
- Desktop: conifer.build (macOS, Windows, and Linux)
- macOS shortcut:
curl -fsSL https://conifer.build/install.sh | sh - Windows shortcut:
irm https://conifer.build/install.ps1 | iex - CLI:
curl -fsSL https://conifer.build/install-cli.sh | sh
The Sage-era root scripts in this repository are compatibility pointers only. They redirect to the current Conifer installers and do not install the obsolete Sage app.
The following describes the Sage-era product this repository originally distributed. It is retained for historical context; current product details and downloads are on conifer.build.
Sage was designed around one idea: bringing performant AI to your machine and keeping it there.
It was a local inference engine built from scratch in Rust—not another UI wrapper. The engine, the agent, and the tooling were tuned for the machine they ran on.
The desktop application, inference engine, and agent runtime are proprietary compiled binaries. This repository distributes signed desktop builds and preserves documentation and release history; it is not the source code for the application.
