A list of tools and resources I use.
I categorize by tools, solutions, and other. Tools are generally software that is regularly used to create something. Solutions are generally project-specific, and usually a SaaS website or app. Other is a collection of themes, plugins, and other killer tools that aren't really stand-alone solutions or tools.
I have a Macbook Air that I use for the majority of my design and development work. But, I also use my personal computer on Windows 10 from time-to-time. I'll list apps I use that are either software for a specific OS [Mac] or [Windows], or if it's an online app [Web].
I recommend and advocate anything I've listed here, but will also mention tools I prefer to use if there's multiple.
- Byword [Mac] preferred
- WriteMonkey [Windows]
- atom [Windows] [Mac] preferred
- Sublime Text [Windows] [Mac]
- Adobe Photoshop [Windows] [Mac] - usually used for making graphics or editing photos, sometimes UI work
- Sketch [Mac] - a modern UI design tool for Mac. has a lot of frustrations, but overall pretty handy.
- github - for code management, issue tracking, sprint planning (via "projects")
- Slack - chat application for team discussion and real-time chat. easy and free.
- blot - for blogging. super minimal, pulls markdown from dropbox, great themes, huge focus on typography. made blogging fun again.
- oh-my-zsh - an upgraded terminal experience for osx.
- 0.1.2 - Graphics and UI editors added.
- 0.1.1 - Added blot. Love this guy.
- 0.1 - Added Word Processors, Text Editors, and some Project Management still. Still need to add a lot.
