I am a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with an MSc and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Human Genetics) from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and a Junior Researcher recognized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colombia. I currently serve as a researcher and university professor affiliated with the EPILAB – Epigenetics and Transcriptional Regulation Research Group at the Institute of Human Genetics of Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, working at the intersection of molecular biology, epigenetics, and bioinformatics.

At EPILAB, our research focuses on understanding how epigenetic and transcriptional regulatory mechanisms contribute to human disease and how environmental exposures influence them. I have worked on projects investigating epigenetic dysregulation in disorders of sexual development, host susceptibility to COVID-19, and the effects of airborne fine particulate matter (PM2.5) on the human epigenome and transcriptome, particularly in the context of respiratory diseases. By integrating molecular biology, epigenetics, and bioinformatics approaches, our work seeks to identify molecular mechanisms and biomarkers that improve our understanding of disease susceptibility and progression.
