This Chrome extension widens github content to display as 1200px (~1000px for the new github). This is useful if one has to view project with code lines that are long.

Visit chrome://extensions in your browser (Chrome of course!)

Ensure that the Developer Mode checkbox in the top right-hand corner is checked.

Click Load unpacked extension… to pop up a file-selection dialog.
