Hi, I'm Vitor Oliveira

Director of Engineering at OutSystems, leading the Web & Mobile Apps Value Stream, the group responsible for the frontend runtime, UI, and the Mobile application-lifecycle platforms developers use to build and deliver web and mobile applications, including the cloud service (a mobile compiler, essentially) that processes thousands of application builds every day.

My teams also steward three open-source projects you might have in your package.json:

Balancing community investment with product priorities is hard (we are far from perfect at it), but keeping these projects healthy is something I care about a lot.

Background

I started as a mobile engineer building Android and iOS apps (some with 5M+ downloads) and grew into leading engineering organizations. Over the last three years, much of my work was integrating Ionic, the first acquisition in OutSystems history. I designed the strategy while working in the Strategy team in the office of the CTO, then moved into the organization to execute it across product, technology, and teams. Through it all, the group kept shipping: the new mobile platform, plus continuous delivery across the frontend, mobile, and the mobile build stack.

AI is where I spend a lot of my time now. I build agentic systems for my own leadership work (planning, preparing 1:1s, keeping track of commitments and organizational signals), and building them gave me back two things a Director role tends to take away: time, and the passion for hands-on work. I'm interested in where AI genuinely improves the system, not in adoption for its own sake.
