If there is ever a reason to be grateful for moving out of Commiefornia, this one gets the grand prize!

Last year, the one-party state passed legislation making people's electric bills based on income rather than actual usage. Sounds like something out of a socialist/communist country, doesn't it?

A post in The Federalist blog today caught my attention. So I did some searching. It didn't take long.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

California governor Gavin Newsom is standing by the state’s soon-to-be-implemented "equitable" policy to base electricity bills on income, rather than usage, even as public and political opposition to the idea builds in the Democratic coalition.

A spokesman for the governor said on Tuesday that Newsom is looking forward to seeing a final proposal from the state's utilities commission "that is consistent with" the 2022 law that required the agency to devise an income-based billing system.

"California must combat climate change by rapidly expanding the use of clean electricity in our vehicles and buildings, while at the same time making it more affordable for low-income Californians," the spokesman said in a statement.

Newsom’s commitment to California’s income-based electricity billing plan followed a press conference by a group of Democratic lawmakers who want to reverse the policy, after they voted in its favor as part of a 2022 budget bill. Citing public outcry, they condemned the plan as another price hike for Californians’ astronomical energy bills that would punish conservation-minded households while also subjecting everyone to invasive income checks. 

See? This is what you get when a Marxist political party has total control of the state's government. They are using the excuse of "climate change" (which is total bullplop) as an excuse to impose this Marxist act.

New Mexicans Suffering High Electric Bills

I must be lucky or something. 

Last month, during the 90°-plus temperatures, I had to run my swamp cooler non-stop. I figured that would lead to an enormous electric bill. 

Well, I had a pleasant surprise! My electric bill was only $88.38. The electric company for Jamestown is cooperative (co-op), so that may have something to do with it. Maybe swamp coolers aren't as costly as air conditioners.

Others in the state are not so lucky.

High electric bills are taking a toll on New Mexicans amid hot July weather, driving up air conditioning usage. Customers of electric companies like PNM and Xcel Energy are witnessing unusually high bills, with air conditioners accounting for up to 50% of summer bills. PNM customer Peggy Abby expressed her shock at the substantial increase in her bill, telling KOAT 7 News, “I have never seen one this high! $453, it’s never even been $100.”

The high temperatures have led to increased electricity consumption, resulting in elevated bills for many households.

The left-wing energy policies also contributed to the high energy costs.

Lujan Grisham's EV and Gasoline Price Hike Scheme

The idiocy of the far-left is astounding. 

They think of themselves as our "lords and masters" and can decree anything they want on the citizenry. The latest is lunatic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's scheme to force people into electric vehicles. (Where is she going to get the power for recharging stations that currently don't exist? Does the San Juan Generating Station closure ring a bell?) She also wants to hike gasoline prices by over 50 cents per gallon.

She is trying to "Californicate" New Mexico. (Notice how people in Commiefornia are fleeing the state in droves?) Gasoline prices are over $5.00/gallon in Los Angeles. It is currently around $3.19/gallon for unleaded regular in New Mexico.

In her latest act to reach her so-called “climate change” goals, far-left Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham wants to mandate that nearly half of all cars sold in New Mexico be electric vehicles by 2027 (43 percent), she announced on Monday.

The proposed mandate would make the percentage increase to 82 percent by 2032.

The average cost of an electric vehicle is $64,000, while the average cost of a new vehicle in the U.S. is $48,000 — which is 33 percent higher for an electric vehicle.

Also on Monday, the governor demanded the state Legislature pass the extremist “clean fuel standard,” which would hike gas prices by over 50 cents per gallon, according to estimates. The bill has died three years in a row and is unlikely to get through with the makeup of the current New Mexico House and Senate. 

Larry Behrens of the pro-energy group Power The Future wrote of Lujan Grisham’s proposal, “This is another misguided proposal that begs the question if the governor’s electric vehicles are so popular,” adding, “why does she have to force them on us?"

Everyone needs to contact their state representatives and tell them to oppose these radical extremist proposals.

Democrats' Goal: Turn New Mexico Into A One-Party State Like Commiefornia

Democrats in New Mexico already had a stranglehold on the state government. To gerrymander the only conservative-leaning congressional district was just a move to make New Mexico into another "Commiefornia". It cost the only Republican member of congress from New Mexico her seat.

California is essentially a one-party state and look at the mess the Democrats have made the state. It is now a shithole. This is the goal of New Mexico Democrats, to turn it into another one-party state like Commiefornia.

New Mexico Democrats are already enacting California leftist policies including electric vehicles, "Green New Deal" crap and energy policies (wait for the brownouts to come, just like California's).

The Democrat mastermind of the gerrymander got raked over the coals on Twitter when he tried to defend it.

According to Piñon Post:

On Friday, leftist Sen. Joe Cervantes (D-Doña Ana) took to Twitter to claim the far-left Democrat gerrymandered maps passed in the Democrat-dominated legislature were not gerrymandered but rather were “competitive” maneuvers. The conversation came after GOP Rep. Yvette Herrell narrowly lost the seat to far-left Democrat Gabe Vasquez following the November 8 midterm elections. 

He wrote, “To those charging me with gerrymandering – we did the opposite. We created a competitive district rather than a seat assigned one party. This is how we restore Congress to the founders’ ideals, and turn back tribal extremists entirely beholden to parties.” 

It is unclear what Cervantes meant by “tribal extremists.”

The districts rip away the old one northern, southern, and central district approach, and force communities that have little common factors into adjoining districts. The maps plunge the South Valley of Albuquerque into the southern district while chopping Hobbs in half and splitting it between the Second and Third District. The formerly northern district now snakes down the eastern part of the state to Roswell, while Albuquerque is now adjoined with Lincoln, Chaves and other counties.

After his defense of rigging the map by drawing out the only conservative-leaning district to a Democrat one by an 18-point partisan swing, New Mexicans took to the comments to call him out for his leftist hackery. 

One commenter wrote, “Lying piece of s**t… south valley is not part of the souther[n] portion of the state.”

Why didn't he make the two other congressional districts in the state also "more competitive"? Those have been "assigned to one party for years". 

Let's not forget that Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed the gerrrymander bill.

His Fraudulency Joe Biden is back to begging foreign oil producers to increase production. That is falling on deaf ears. They have no respect for the weak old man at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

While he and his party threatens our oil industry with destruction and trying to force people into electric vehicles, the country is in disarray.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal has an excellent editorial on the mess Biden has put the country in.

They begin it with:

Gasoline prices are heading skyward again, and President Joe Biden is back to begging foreign interests to keep pumping even as the White House threatens to drive domestic producers out of business. And so, once again, we see on full display the economic confusion that has characterized the first 21 months of this foundering administration.

The average price of gasoline in Nevada stands at $5.51 a gallon, up more than 40 cents in the past week. Washington, Oregon, Arizona and Alaska have experienced similar increases. Californians are now paying an average of $6.38 a gallon.

When gasoline prices declined steadily for three months during the summer, Mr. Biden was eager to take credit for the improvement. Now? He’s pointing fingers in a desperate attempt to shift blame with an election on the horizon. 

If anyone needs a reason to vote the Democrats out of office next month, this is it! Remember, elections have consequences!

Don't Jump Off The Cliff With The Flag Flying

People who get butt-hurt over primary election results when their favored candidate doesn't win and then vote for someone with a snowball's chance in hell of winning in the general election are stupid. 

Case in point: there are those who feel Mark Ronchetti, the GOP gubernatorial nominee in New Mexico, is a RINO and does not deserve their support. Granted, Ronchetti was not my first choice, but he is the nominee and has the ONLY chance of kicking Michelle Lujan Grisham out of office. (If it makes you feel better, hold your nose while voting for him!)

Some are preferring to vote instead for Karen Bedonie. But she is only registering 6% in the polls. She may be more ideal to your way of thinking, but is it smart to subject everyone to another four years of Lujan Grisham? Then we'll end up with radical polices of the kind California's Gavin Newsom has subjected Californians to, turning the state into a shithole. Ronchetti may not be perfect (who is?), but he's our only chance.

If you think Lujan Grisham was bad in her first term, a second term would be worse. Already, the Democrats in New Mexico are salivating that if they retain the governorship and majorities in the legislature, they will hike taxes on New Mexicans. They are trying to force people into electric cars. They are trying to destroy the oil and gas industry. They are after our gun rights! Ronchetti has the NRA's highest rating! 

If she wins re-election, you can only blame yourself for not voting for Ronchetti and have no business bitching and whining when things turn to crap!

New Mexico Utilities Forced To Buy Out-Of-State Power

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and her toadies on the Public Regulation Commission are trying to decimate New Mexico's utility companies, forcing them to buy out-of-state power. This is all under New Mexico's "Green New Deal" (Energy Transition Act).

This will turn into the same debacle as California's energy problems under Gov. Gavin Newsom. Citizens of New Mexico will have to endure brownouts and higher energy costs if they succeed.

The Piñon Post reported:

New Mexico’s Green New Deal (Energy Transition Act) is continuing to harm New Mexico by creating a vast power shortage. Utilities are buckling for a full-blown power catastrophe next summer as they are forced to “transition” to solar and other “renewable” energy sources. 

During a special Public Regulation Commission meeting Thursday, Public Service Co. of New Mexico (PNM) said it is being forced to PNM executives said the utility will fill “quite a hole” next summer due to “green” replacements taking longer to materialize as the San Juan Generating Station is set to close next week.

According to PNM spokesman Ray Sandoval, PNM “generally has a 2,000-megawatt system with about 500 megawatts provided by the San Juan Generating Station.” 

With the closure of the San Juan Generating Station, it has purged countless jobs, with only around 80 employees able to retire. “For the rest of the employees, though, they’re going to have to go find some other form of employment,” said plant manager Omni Warner. 

If Lujan Grisham is re-elected, she will be able to appoint more leftists to the Public Regulation Commission.

Dow Falls Over 800 Points On Ukraine

This comes as no surprise.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and other markets are reacting to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

From CNBC:

U.S. stock futures fell sharply Thursday as Russia attacked Ukraine, causing global energy prices to jump and sending investors fleeing for the safety of fixed income assets.

The invasion comes as global equity markets were already reeling because of decades-high inflation stemming from the pandemic.

S&P 500 futures were down 2.5%, set to plunge the benchmark further into correction territory. The index closed Wednesday 12% off its record high. Dow Jones Industrial average futures fell 810 points, or 2.4%. The blue-chip measure closed Wednesday more than 10% off its record. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 3%. The Nasdaq Composite is teetering on bear market territory, down just less than 20% from its high through Wednesday’s close.

I anticipated this. I transferred most of my investments to the safety of money markets last week. They don't pay much in interest, but at least I won't be losing anything.

Navajo Nation Opposes Biden’s Drilling Ban At Chaco Canyon

His Fraudulency Joe Biden always manages to screw things up and piss off constituents.

He has done so again. This time, he has pissed off the Navajo Nation just a day after he hosted a Tribal Nations Summit. 

This is part of his efforts to destroy the energy infrastructure of this country in order to force people into "green" vehicles.

Breitbart reported:

Nov. 16 (UPI) — The Navajo Nation said Tuesday that it disagrees with the Biden administration’s proposal to ban oil and gas drilling within a 10-mile radius of Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, and instead prefers a smaller buffer.

The Navajo Nation’s Council — the legislative body of the government — called on the administration to work with Navajo leaders regarding the proposed 20-year ban on drilling around the Chaco Culture National Historical Park.

“The Biden administration bypassed previous requests to Congress for field hearings and for leaders to hear directly from our Navajo families affected in the Chaco Canyon region,” a statement from Speaker Seth Damon said.

“The position of the Navajo Nation Council is for the creation of a 5-mile buffer within and around this sacred site. It is important that the federal government consider and work with our Navajo allottees to further advance development.

“The administration must respect our tribal sovereignty and what the government-to-government relationship entails.”

Pretty soon, if we were to look up the word stupid in a dictionary, Joe Biden's picture will be next to the word.

High Energy Costs Are By The Democrats' Design

Do you really think that the high energy prices we're experiencing is some accident or unintended? 

It is not. It is by design by His Fraudulency Joe Biden and the Democrat radicals who want to force us into "green" energy. If you think otherwise, then you're fooling yourself.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) alleged that the Biden administration is creating the conditions for high gas prices to push Americans into adopting green energy technology such as electric cars.

Cotton told Breitbart in an interview published Sunday that “it’s not unintended or some accident” that gas prices are rising across the country. Since his first day in office, President Joe Biden has taken steps to tamp down on future oil and gas production in the United States by restricting lease sales and shutting down pipeline projects.

“Most notably, more and more people tell me that they’re not even able to fill their pickup truck tank up for the entire week,” Cotton said. “They’ve got to fill up half a tank and hope that the price comes down by the end of the week. That, in particular, is the intended effect of Joe Biden’s energy policy. It’s not unintended or some accident. They want gas to cost $4 a gallon because they want all of us to get out of pickup trucks and SUVs and get into small electric compacts or bicycles or scooters or whatever else Pete Buttigieg takes to work.”

Cotton stressed that high fuel prices along with historically high rates of inflation are hitting Americans’ pocketbooks hard.

Democrats Double Down On Destroying America's Energy Infrastructure

People are rightly concerned about energy prices. They are seeing gasoline prices skyrocket. They are seeing shortages with oil and propane, essential for home heating during the upcoming winter months. And, they are blaming the Democrat Party, and rightly so.

The Democrat extremists are in control of the party and government machinery. They are hell-bent on destroying America's energy infrastructure.

This is what a new article in The Hill is presenting.

Some snippets:

Voters just handed Democrats a crushing defeat in the most recent elections, and it appears that further setbacks may be on the near horizon. The party seems to have two clear choices: They could pause and reconsider, or they could double down.

Taking an even stronger position might embolden their team and bring on future wins, or it could turn into further setbacks as voters flee from their increasingly extreme views. Doubling down is a definite risk, but it’s clearly the hand many senior Democrats are choosing to play. In energy policy terms, doubling down means that, with winter approaching and energy prices skyrocketing, they were — even momentarily — considering plans to close down yet another major pipeline. 

He began his time in office by rejoining the Paris agreement and killing the Keystone XL pipeline, then moved on to helping promote Russian pipeline construction, and then to begging OPEC to increase production. Fellow Democrats are even pressuring Biden to consider shutting down oil exports and tapping the strategic petroleum reserve. 

Apparently, they have never seriously considered encouraging the American oil and gas industry to increase production and transportation of their products. In fact, we’ve even been treated to Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm’s guffawing when asked to consider the notion that she might be able to do something — anything — to help rein in energy prices by expanding domestic production.  

Even worse, while Granholm yucked it up on TV, she was also warning members of OPEC that “we need to increase [energy] supply at this moment so that people will not be hurt during the winter months.” Despite recognizing the protective value of more energy supplies, the Biden administration first acknowledged, and then rapidly walked back, reports that they were studying the costs of closing down the Line 5 pipeline, which supplies heating and transportation fuels to much of the Midwest.

Now you can see why the Democrats took a drubbing in recent elections and why Biden's approval numbers are below 40% in many polls. The Administration is full of lunatic leftist idiots.

"Grishy the Clown" At UN Climate Change Conference

If there's one thing New Mexico's citizens can count on is Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham's fondness for living "high on the hog" at the taxpayers' expense.

The latest is her little junket to Scotland to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference. To get there, Her Majesty left a nice carbon footprint from her flight there.

It's really pointless for her to be there. All they are is a bunch of elitists sitting around echoing each other with their climate change bullplop.

On Monday, scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham tweeted from Scotland of her participation in the globalist “climate change” summit being held in Glasgow, which is features elites from other countries who no doubt flew there in CO2-consuming jets, just like the embattled Governor.

Lujan Grisham wrote on Twitter, “I’m honored to be at @COP26 this week, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, representing New Mexico and the work we’ve done to achieve climate solutions on the world stage.”

“I am so proud of the work we have done in under three years, including nationally leading emissions reductions rules for the oil and gas industry, requiring 100% clean electricity by 2045, implementing new energy-efficient building codes, and so much more.” This is referring to Lujan Grisham’s Green New Deal, also known as the“Energy Transition Act,” which aims to completely wipe out the oil and gas industry by 2045.

Lujan Grisham’s attendance at the elite event comes as multiple crises are exploding in New Mexico, including a crime epidemic in Albuquerque, one of the highest positive virus testing rates in the nation, one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation, and a pivotal November 2 municipal election right around the corner. The Governor’s extreme pandemic orders still remain in place, including forcibly masking children at school and requiring masks at all times indoors, except when eating or drinking.

No, there's no truth to the rumor that "Grishy the Clown" is in Scotland to provide the entertainment.

Biden's Poll Plunge Reflects His Incompetency

His Fraudulency Joe Biden is seeing the biggest plunge in job approval ratings of any president since 1945.

This is, of course, not a surprise to me. Starting with the election, Biden is sitting in the White House under highly questionable circumstances, i.e., election fraud.

According to Fox News:

Former President Trump suffered from negative poll numbers during his four-year tenure in the White House, and now his successor is suffering the same fate, with a new national poll indicating that President Biden's standing among Americans remains well underwater.

Just 37% of Americans questioned in a Quinnipiac University survey say they approve of the job Biden’s doing as president, with 52% giving him a thumbs-down. The poll was conducted Oct. 15-18 and released Tuesday.

Adding to Biden's political peril, just 28% of registered independents give the president a thumbs-up on his job performance, while 56% do not. The Quinnipiac survey indicated that Republicans, by a 95%-3% margin, disapproved of how the president’s handling his duties in the White House, with Democrats approving 80%-11%.

Polling aside, his job performance has been a total disaster since day one (January 20) and people are clearly seeing it.

On energy, he immediately killed the Keystone Pipeline and put a moratorium on new drilling. We were either at energy independence or damn near close to it. Now, oil companies have to rely again on foreign oil. Gasoline prices have shot up with no end in sight. He has no solutions.

On border security, he stopped construction of the wall. He is basically allowing people to flow into the country unchecked. 

On Afghanistan, his pullout is a total disaster with possibly 400 Americans stranded, billions of weaponry are now in the Taliban's hands and killings of Afghans (including a female athlete who was beheaded, whose only crime was being an athlete) and so on.

The economy is in tatters. Inflation has exploded. The supply-chain is a gummed up mess.

I can go on. But you get the point. It seems he is purposely trying to destroy this country. People even have serious doubts he's actually in charge. Biden and the Democrat Party are trying to turn America into a socialist totalitarian state.

Biden has been an idiot throughout his entire career. He is obviously senile and can't even express a coherent paragraph. Contrast his blabberings with William Shatner's comments following his space flight. Shatner was more lucid at age 90 than Biden is at age 78. It is a frightening thing to see.

Plain and simple, he's incompetent.

During the Afghanistan debacle, I called for his resignation or impeachment. I still hold to that. 

Too bad, in this instance, we don't have a parliamentary system where he can be removed by a vote of no-confidence. 

This is why the poll numbers are not surprising. Actually, I believe his low approval numbers are even worse than what the polls are showing.

The United States is turning into a bigger version of Venezuela.

Joe Biden At The Flying J

After putting The Beast inside the GOCO Beast Barn and firing up the Jeep, I headed down to the Flying J to check my mail and gas up the Mustang. I am getting my booster shot tomorrow and the car needed gasoline.

The price at the Flying J is $3.20/gallon. It is generally cheaper in Gallup. The lowest price I found yesterday there was $3.18 at Maverik, with my two-cent-per-gallon discount card, I ended up paying $3.16/gallon.

Today, with my Good Sam five-cent-per-gallon discount, I paid $3.15/gallon at the Flying J. That's the most I've ever paid there. If the gas stations in Gallup are still lower, I'll top off the Mustang's gas tank.

When I stepped to the gas pump, I saw an interesting sticker on it. It was His Fraudulency himself, Joe Biden!*

These prices are all Biden's and the Democrats' doing and the sticker definitely reflects that. They all need to be voted OUT OF OFFICE during the off-year congressional elections next year.

Joe Biden Is The Cause of High Gas Prices

It is amazing that while lunatic His Fraudulency Joe Biden is destroying America's ability to produce energy, he is calling upon OPEC to increase oil production.

He is the direct cause of why gasoline prices are now soaring (note to the so-called fact-checkers).

Salena Zito, a political reporter at the Washington Examiner, said she was befuddled that President Joe Biden would call on OPEC to produce more oil while gas prices soar in the U.S.

Zito, who was a guest on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Wednesday, asked why the Biden administration was now sounding the alarm about fast-rising energy prices after the president "put his foot on the neck" of the oil and gas industry day one in office.

She said that the energy industry created jobs across the U. S., and called it "curious" that the Biden administration would ask OPEC to produce more oil while limiting its production in the U.S. 

Zito also noted that this was just the most recent example of Biden's history of harming the U.S. oil industry. 

"The energy industry, Joe Biden has put his foot on the next since day one and there is no exaggeration in that statement, from his executive orders on the Keystone Pipeline to halting and/or pausing production on federal lands with fracking in New Mexico and also oil production in Louisiana, he has impacted lives, American lives profoundly right there."

Remember, elections have consequences (especially rigged ones). Remove EVERY Democrat in next year's election!
