Harris To Announce Soviet-Style Price Controls On Food

As one would expect from someone coming out of the Bay Area (i.e., San Francisco) of Commiefornia would propose, Kamala Harris will be announcing Soviet-style centrally administered price controls on food today.

At least, that's according to Breitbart.

They wrote:

Her address will mark the first time Harris offers a policy focused speech since she was anointed as the Democratic candidate in July and been roundly accused by critics since as being a policy-free zone, as Breitbart News reported.

The Democratic nominee is promising to institute a first-ever national ban on price gouging and price-fixing within her first 100 days in office in an effort to deflect many voters’ low marks for President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy.

Kamala Harris Voted To Allow IRS To Track Tips

Earlier in this campaign, former President Donald Trump came out with a campaign promise to eliminate taxes on tips.

Now, all of a sudden, Kamala Harris is copying Trump's promise.

We should all take that with the proverbial grain of salt. She was the one who cast the tie-breaking vote on a bill to allow the Internal Revenue Service to track service industry workers' tips.

Vice President Kamala Harris — who on Saturday copied a campaign promise first announced by former President Donald Trump to eliminate taxes on tips — voted in 2022 to pass legislation that allowed the IRS to track down workers’ tips so that they could be taxed.

On August 7, 2022, Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act that provided $80 billion in additional funding to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which then got to work cracking down on the service industry’s reporting of tips so that they could be taxed.

This is all a bunch of B.S. on her part. She is not to be trusted.

Interstate 40 Still Closed

Interstate 40 west of Gallup is still closed due to the train derailment. The derailment took place about three miles east of the Arizona-New Mexico border near Lupton, Arizona. This is 40 miles away from my residence.

According to the New Mexico State Police, no time has been given for when it will reopen:

Train Derailment and Interstate 40 Closure Update: Westbound Interstate 40 will be closed to all westbound traffic at milepost 126 and diverted onto State Road 6 South. All Commercial Motor Vehicles and non-local residents traveling west on Interstate 40 are instructed to take Interstate 25 south at Albuquerque to Interstate 10 in Las Cruces to continue to travel west.

Local residents of Laguna, Acoma, Grants, Gallup, etc., will be allowed to continue west past the road closure on Interstate 40 with proof of local residency.

This derailment has made the news around the country. Even Breitbart has an article on it.

Gov. Grisham Pushes Lawsuits Against Gun Makers

If there were any doubt as to how bad New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is when it concerns our Second Amendment rights, the following ought to lay to rest those doubts.

Breitbart has posted an article on what we're up against during the upcoming legislative session in Santa Fe.

They begin with:

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) introduced a gun control package Friday, which includes an “assault weapons” ban, the ability for New Mexicans to sue gun manufacturers, and a two-week waiting period for gun purchases, among other things.

The Los Alamos Daily Post noted that Grisham’s push will ban “guns in parks and playgrounds,” which will “make it illegal to carry a firearm in county or municipal parks, playgrounds, and their accompanying parking lots.” This would give the force of law to a ban that Grisham issued via executive order on September 8, 2023.

Lawsuit Filed Against L.A. County Sheriff On Concealed Carry Permits

The Los Angeles County Sheriff has apparently been dragging its feet in issuing concealed carry permits in violation of the Supreme Court's Bruen decision.

In response, a lawsuit has been filed against the Sheriff Department.

Breitbart reported:

The California Rifle & Pistol Association (CRPA) filed suit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department claiming the department is not issuing concealed carry permits in compliance with Bruen (2022).

On June 23, 2022, Breitbart News reported that the Supreme Court of the United States issued the Bruen decision in which the court ruled against New York’s proper cause requirement for concealed carry permit issuance.

In addition to striking the proper cause requirement, Bruen made clear that the Second Amendment protects a right to carry a gun outside the home for self-defense. It also required that in cases involving challenges to gun control, courts are to weigh the controls by looking for historical precedents in American history and tradition rather than in claims that the controls serve a specific purpose.

The suit was filed December 4, 2023. Other plaintiffs joined with CRPA, including the Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, and Gun Owners of California.

The plaintiffs contend that the LA County Sheriff’s Department maintains “carry permit issuance policies and laws that make it extremely difficult, if not outright impossible or impermissibly time consuming [to obtain a permit].”

Elon Musk Calls For Impeachment and Removal of NM Governor

Calls for the impeachment and removal of New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham are starting. This is in reaction to Lujan Grisham's executive order suspending Second Amendment rights of Bernalillo County citizens.

The highest profile call was by Elon Musk, the owner of X, formerly known as Twitter.

Elon Musk responded to New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s (D) order banning concealed carry by asking how soon the governor can be removed for violating the Second Amendment.

Breitbart News reported that Grisham issued an order Friday suspending state residents’ rights to carry guns for self-defense in Albuquerque and other cities.

Musk responded with a post on X, which said, “At risk of stating what should be obvious, deliberately violating the Constitution is next-level illegal. How soon can this person be removed from office?”

I totally agree, her actions yesterday go beyond the pale. She should be impeached and removed from office. The sooner, the better.

The mantra of the far left of the Democrat Party is hell-bent on gun confiscation. But thanks to the constitution and recent Supreme Court decisions, they have been effectively thwarted. They keep trying, though.

One Democrat recognizes this and a Breitbart article points him out.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. used a townhall in New Hampshire to explain he is not going to take guns and the approach of trying to do so would not stop school shootings.

National Gun Rights Association’s Will Fite tweeted about the townhall on Saturday after RFK Jr. stressed that he is not going to take away guns.

Moreover, he pointed to the Supreme Court of the United States Bruen (2022) decision and noted it is not possible to “do anything” to secure gun control, even if someone wanted more of it.

MLG's Unhinged Rant Fact-Checked By Breitbart and NRA

It never ceases to amaze me at how such a total nincompoop as New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham ever got elected, much less getting re-elected despite her loony policies, living lavishly on the taxpayers' dime and her groping scandal.

The latest is her rants last Friday on the Second Amendment. She made such ridiculous statements that she got herself fact-checked by both the National Rifle Association and Breitbart News. They have been brought to us in living color by Piñon Post. 

She claimed that AR-15 rifles are "automatic weapons". They're not. They are semi-automatics. Big difference.

Piñon Post starts with:

On Friday, far-left Gov. Michelle Lujan (D-NM) Grisham said she would continue her attacks against the Second Amendment — going further to say no one in America should personally own an “automatic weapon” while appearing for an interview on MSNBC. 

She said, “Frankly, no one that isn’t in the military — this is a weapon of war — or, uh, the trained police department. In my view, no one in America who isn’t in one of those two situations should own an automatic weapon. There is no reason to own one of those…. There is no reason.”

She also said she is “looking at” legislation that died in the last legislative session to “go after gun manufacturers. This is an all-of-the-above approach. Every single thing. I want fewer firearms in the street, I want no more gun trafficking, I want people held accountable, and what happened to Mr. Wilson? Did he reach out for help at the school? I’m going to need to know that. Was there a missed opportunity for a red flag high-risk protection order?”

But after making the unhinged statements, she got brutally fact-checked by Breitbart News and the National Rifle Association (NRA). 

Some of the proposed legislation that failed during the recent legislative session was due to being obviously unconstitutional. She needs to take a hard look at recent Supreme Court decisions before shooting off her mouth.

This comes from someone who won't secure New Mexico's southern border, thereby allowing drug & human traffickers, illegals and criminals into the state.

Murderer of 5 Hondurans Deported 4 Times

There's an $80,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the Mexican national who killed five Honduran nationals in Cleveland, Texas last Friday.

CLEVELAND, Texas — Immigration officers deported the Mexican man wanted in connection to Friday night’s alleged murder of five Honduran nationals on three occasions, according to the Texas sheriff leading the investigation. The most recent removal came in 2016.

UPDATE 5/1/23 11:30 a.m.: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials provided updated information on the suspected killer of five Honduran migrants. Officials report that an immigration judge first ordered Francisco Oropeza Perez-Torres, 38, to be removed from the United States on March 19, 2009. ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers deported the migrant to Mexico later that month.

Subsequent to this, Oropeza illegally re-entered the U.S. and was removed, once again, in September 2009. He was removed two more times in January 2012 and July 2016. 

In January 2012, a Texas court in Montgomery County (which neighbors San Jacinto County where the alleged murders took place) convicted the Mexican national for driving while intoxicated. The court sentenced him to an unreported period of incarceration.

FBI Special Agent in Charge James Smith announced they are assisting in the investigation and manhunt. They cautioned that Oropeza is considered to be armed and a danger to the community.

“We’re still out there trying to find this individual,” Smith said. “We consider him armed and dangerous and we’re not going to stop until we actually arrest him and bring him into custody.”

The Daily Caller reported that the suspect may have been arrested.

Authorities arrested the man believed to be responsible for the killing of five people, including an eight-year-old boy in Cleveland, Texas, Friday, NBC News reported late Tuesday.

San Jacinto County District Attorney Todd Dillon said a man believed to be Francisco Oropesa, 38, was arrested in Cut and Shoot, Texas, according to NBC. Police are still waiting to confirm the identity of the individual, who was put in Montgomery County Jail and charged with first-degree murder. 

Navajo Nation Rescinds Mask Mandate

When I took my little trip to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park within the Navajo Nation in October, I had to wear a mask whenever I was indoors in places like the Hubbell Trading Post. It was a good thing I had some in my motorhome.

That was understandable as the Navajo Nation was hit very hard with coronavirus.

All that has come to an end as the new Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren has rescinded their mask mandate.

The Navajo Nation has rescinded a mask mandate that’s been in effect since the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, officials announced Friday, fulfilling a pledge that new tribal President Buu Nygren made while campaigning for the office.

The mandate was one of the longest-standing anywhere in the U.S. and applied broadly to businesses, government offices and tourist destinations on the vast reservation, which extends into New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. The tribe at one point had one of the highest coronavirus infection rates in the country and among the strictest measures to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Nygren and Navajo Nation Council Delegate Otto Tso, who temporarily is overseeing the tribe’s legislative branch, jointly announced the lifting of the mask mandate on social media Friday evening.

The power elites in Washington, along with several banks, are plotting to devise a new dollar, one that they fully control. It involves digital currency.

Breitbart Takes Aim At Lujan Grisham's Release of 700 Convicts

Breitbart.com generally covers national news, so when they aim their sights on a state, you know it has to be big news.

New Mexico's gubernatorial race between Mark Ronchetti and Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham caught their attention yesterday after a Ronchetti ad focusing on the release of 700 convicts was released.

The Breitbart article begins with:

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) helped free 700 convicts in the state’s prison system in the last roughly two years, a new ad from Republican Mark Ronchetti details.

While locking down New Mexicans in the middle of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, Grisham signed an executive order in April 2020 that allowed her to easily free hundreds of convicts from state prison under the guise of slowing the spread of the virus.

As a result, Grisham freed about 700 convicts from state prison from April 2020 up until last month. Ronchetti, Grisham’s gubernatorial opponent, released an ad detailing the massive jailbreak agenda — noting that one of the convicts freed by Grisham was involved in the largest fentanyl bust in American history.

When this began happing, people in New Mexico wondered, How is releasing convicts aiding in stopping the spread of COVID-19?  Wouldn't people be better off if they remained incarcerated to contain the spread of the virus within the prison population?

Gun Control Group Wants Credit Card Companies To Flag Gun and Ammo Purchases

Gun control activist organizations are calling on credit card companies to flag gun and ammunition purchases. Obviously, they don't give a rat's behind about people's rights of privacy besides Second Amendment rights.

Gabby Giffords’ gun control group, Giffords, is calling on major credit card companies to flag gun and ammunition purchases.

Giffords posted a tweet Sunday, which said, “The shooters in at least 5 mass shootings have stockpiled guns & ammo using credit cards and killed 145 people. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express have the power to flag suspicious purchases and save lives. Call on them to act.”

The tweet linked to a campaign by another gun control group called GunsDownAmerica.

The GunsDownAmerica campaign says, “Between 2007 and 2020, the killers in at least five major mass shootings used credit cards to finance their deadly rampages. These individuals exploited the banking system to purchase large quantities of firearms and ammunition — and the financial industry has the power to stop them.”

At least one card company has resisted this in the past:

On March 9, 2018, Breitbart News reported that Visa refused to succumb to the pressure, noting that it is not the credit card company’s job to “[set] restrictions on the sale of lawful goods and services.”

Lujan Grisham has repeatedly thumbed her nose at New Mexicans and the governmental system for years,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “She has no qualms about her constant immoral and unethical behavior, whether it’s duping her constituents, taking public money for personal use or stripping New Mexicans of their rights and freedoms. Lujan Grisham cannot be trusted, and she cannot serve another term as governor.”

Nothing's Sacred: Popeye Turns Woke

In today's insane world, culture, along with a lot of other things, is being perverted by wokeness.

The latest is Popeye the Sailor.

As this morning's post in The Federalist blog reports, Popeye has been around for nearly 100 years. He began as a side character in Segar's "Thimble Theater" comic strip and ended up taking over the strip. Popeye became so popular that he has received several animated cartoon series, most notably (and the best) the Max and Dave Fleischer cartoons of the 1930s.

According to Breitbart (via The Federalist):

After nearly a hundred years in existence, the Popeye comic strip is reportedly getting a woke makeover, with the strip’s latest cartoonist promising more ethnic diversity and “more characters who aren’t heterosexual.”

Cartoonist Randal K. Milholland described the Popeye character as being “gender fluid,” citing old episodes in which the plot required Popeye to dress in drag.

“I [want] to bring in more characters who aren’t heterosexual,” Milholland said in an interview with the San Antonio Express-News. “I don’t live in that purely straight white world, and I don’t think a lot of other people do either.”

In one of the strip’s biggest changes, Olive Oyl’s sister-in-law Cylinda Oyl is now Afro-Latina. Cylinda has traditionally been portrayed as a white woman with dark, bobbed hair.

No doubt Segar and the Fleischers are spinning in their graves.

"Complaint" Has Lincoln Bust and Plaque Removed From Cornell University

The "cancel culture" has hit New York's Cornell University.

The University removed a bust of President Abraham Lincoln and plaque commemorating the Gettysburg Address from the library without any word as to the reason(s) why, except some malcontent apparently "complained" about it.

According to Breitbart:

A professor at Cornell University says the school’s library has removed a bronzed Gettysburg Address plaque and a bust of President Abraham Lincoln after somebody complained.

“Someone complained, and it was gone,” Cornell professor Randy Wayne told the College Fix, referring to a Gettysburg Address plaque and Lincoln bust that had been on display in the Ivy League university’s Kroch Library since 2013.

The professor said that he had noticed that the items were gone after stopping by the library several weeks ago, adding that when he asked the librarians about it, they were unable to give any details, other than saying it was removed as a result of some type of complaint.

The plaque and bust have been replaced with, “Well, nothing,” Wayne told the College Fix.

While it remains unclear as to why the plaque and bust have been removed from Cornell’s library, the call to remove U.S. historical figures on college campuses is a bizarre new trend among students in what is becoming an increasingly irascible society.

Navajo Nation Opposes Biden’s Drilling Ban At Chaco Canyon

His Fraudulency Joe Biden always manages to screw things up and piss off constituents.

He has done so again. This time, he has pissed off the Navajo Nation just a day after he hosted a Tribal Nations Summit. 

This is part of his efforts to destroy the energy infrastructure of this country in order to force people into "green" vehicles.

Nov. 16 (UPI) — The Navajo Nation said Tuesday that it disagrees with the Biden administration’s proposal to ban oil and gas drilling within a 10-mile radius of Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, and instead prefers a smaller buffer.

The Navajo Nation’s Council — the legislative body of the government — called on the administration to work with Navajo leaders regarding the proposed 20-year ban on drilling around the Chaco Culture National Historical Park.

“The Biden administration bypassed previous requests to Congress for field hearings and for leaders to hear directly from our Navajo families affected in the Chaco Canyon region,” a statement from Speaker Seth Damon said.

“The position of the Navajo Nation Council is for the creation of a 5-mile buffer within and around this sacred site. It is important that the federal government consider and work with our Navajo allottees to further advance development.

“The administration must respect our tribal sovereignty and what the government-to-government relationship entails.”

Pretty soon, if we were to look up the word stupid in a dictionary, Joe Biden's picture will be next to the word.

Biden Digging Himself In Deeper On Afghanistan

His Fraudulency Joe Biden's talk today on Afghanistan was disappointing on so many levels.

He actually said that he was unaware of any questioning of our credibility from our allies. How can he not be aware of the Parliament of the United Kingdom's contempt vote of Wednesday, as one example? (I was waiting for someone to ask him about that. Of course, nobody did.)

He said that basically everything was just ducky for Americans trying to get into the Kabul airport when there's reports of Americans trying to get to the airport being beaten. He said he has an agreement with the Taliban and they are allegedly living up to it. Reporters were incredulous over this, asking if he really trusts the Taliban as he was fleeing the room.

He is either delusional or just a big fat liar. 

He needs to resign now. He has no credibility.
