Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Case the Team

Well hello my lovely cardmakers out there, welcome to the
Blog Hop for March, this month we were asked to CASE each other.
To CASE in crafting community can mean different things - Copy and Share Everything, Copy and Selectively Edit, Copy and Steal Everything, obviously I prefer the first 2 to the last one.  I love to credit those who have inspired me.  As someone wisely said, "there is nothing new under the sun".  All our art and creations have been influenced and inspired by others.  Even when we think we have hit on an original idea, you may discover that someone else has too.

Anyway, on with the crafting.  I decided to CASE a card by Barry from Mitosu crafts.  It's called the Floating Side Panel card, and his tutorial can be found {HERE}

I took the measurements and created this.

I used the Thoughtful Expressions stamps and Dies 162822 that are in the Stampin' Up! Mini catalogue.  The whole suite is beautiful and a joy to work with.

I stamped the large floral stamp with Petal Pink ink on the same coloured card stock and used that as the background layers and stuck them onto the Gray Granite card base.  The bird was stamped with Coastal Cabana ink on Pool Party card stock and large flower clusters with Calypso Coral ink on the same coloured card stock.

I particularly like how the flower die can be placed on the flower image to add some dimension.

The hummingbird wings was layered to give an impression of flight, and the Iridescent Pearls 158987 were a lovely finishing touch to the flower centres.

To see how I made the card you can watch this tutorial

Thank you so much for looking at my card, here are the other hoppers, I am looking forward to seeing what they create.

Christmas Stampathon - July 2021

Who is up for some Christmas inspiration on the 25th of the month?
I know it's only July, and we have had some very hot days in the UK, but the theme for this month is

Baby, it's cold outside

please make 4 projects using this theme

to see the other participants and their creations please go to our Facebook group, where you can join in and share you makes HERE

These are the cards I made.

I used a new bundle that will be available on the 3rd August 2021 in the mini catalogue.
It is called Peaceful Deer and has some tree and deer images with a co-ordinating punch.

I decided to create a blended background and add some trees in Night of Navy, and then have the deer leaping through the laser cut snowflake that will also be available in August.

Here is the video of how I made them...

{HAPPY NEW YEAR and some Daisy cards from a stamped One Sheet Wonder}

Happy New Year!

Inspite of the challenges of 2020, my heart is full of gratitude for continued sustenance, friendships old and new, family and their development and Hope for the future.  I'm hugely aware of the deeper challenges and sorrows that have and continue to face each day.  Praying you will know peace and strength if this is you.

The next few weeks are likely to become quite busy for me as we move home (locally).  I'll endeavour to keep you informed of Stampin' Up news.  Please be aware that other platforms tend to get updated sooner than this, so follow my channel on YouTube here and my page on Facebook here.

In a few days there will be a new catalogue to feast your eyes on. Be aware that because of recent Covid restrictions there are delays.  Do place orders, however don't stalk your UPS delivery person to early!

Here are some cards I really enjoyed making last year.

Love this colour combo, the warm tones of the Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider with the cool blue of Coastal Cabana make a harmonious palette.

The other winning combination is the stamp sets, Beautiful Friendship and All Things Fabulous look beautiful together.

Here is how I stamped the paper

To see how I made them here is the video

Stamp Around Uk VLOG hop - Using a sketch

I know this blog post is a bit late (hangs head in shame).
I've been taking part in a video hop once a month, and this was the project I created for October's theme.

The lovely Janice gave us a card sketch to design around.  If you have never used a card sketch I highly recommend it.  It's a great help if you have lost your mojo a bit.

Here it is

When a sketch has a lot of detail on it, I approach it by trying to have a simple colour palette and use shades within it.

Here you can see I have gone for an aqua and purple theme.  I used Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party as they matched a stamped One Sheet Wonder I had previously created.

After choosing the colours I gathered various dies, I looked for tag and circle style ones and floral and leaves.  After I cut a whole load out I had fun assembling the cards,

I used some co-ordinating sequins to finish them off.

Here is the video that I filmed

{Christmas Stampathon August non Christmas COLOUR challenge}

Welcome to the...

8th Round of the
Christmas Stampathon 2019

Be inspired every month with a Christmas Challenge on the 25th of the month.

The challenge this month is to make at least 4 projects using a "Non Christmas" colour scheme.
Typically I associate the red/green/gold scheme with Chistmas and occasionally the pale blues and silvers.  It was really fun to try out a diffrent colour scheme.

When you have made your creation, please photograph it and add it to the Facebook group here.

I am joined by the 3 other demonstrators from around the world

Denise Kepple Garrison 'Lady Bug Stampin'  from America

Ellen Woodbridge  and Rosalie Desmond from Australia

These are the cards I made

Here is a video tutorial of how I made them

I really enjoyed using this new stamp set, it will be available to customers at the beginning of September.  It's called Snow Front, and it pairs beautifully with Water Front

Christmas Stampathon 2019 May - Card with Movement

Welcome to the...

5th Round of the
Christmas Stampathon 2019

Be inspired every month with a Christmas Challenge on the 25th of the month.

The challenge this month is to use the image below as inspiration to create at least 4 cards with an element of movement.

When you have made your creation, please photograph it and add it to the Facebook group here.

I am joined by the 3 other demonstrators from around the world

Denise Kepple Garrison 'Lady Bug Stampin'  from America

Ellen Woodbridge  and Rosalie Desmond from Australia

This challenge was a challenge to me, I had so many idea and ended up spending lots of time faffing at my craft table.  In the end I came up with this card.

I used the beautiful Winter Woods stamp set.  After having to say goodbye to Lovely as a Tree, this set is a wonderful alternative and addition to my craft supplies.  I love how it is suitable for non Christmas projects too,

Here is my video tutorial...
