I brought an item over $100 worth it turned up damaged and then they wanted me to post it back just so I can get a refund but the postage will cost more than the item is worth and they won't refund my postage back which is a joke the product is defective and cannot be used under the consumer guarantees act in New Zealand they have to provide a return policy that has not gonna cost me to return because of their negligence I wouldn't trust them with a badge poll

I’ve been ordering from AliExpress for years and have never had a problem. The items I’ve ordered have always been of great quality and very reasonably priced. Their ‘free delivery over £8 spend’ offer is great, as sometimes the postage can sting when buying a smaller item on its own. I usually wait until I want items that will exceed £8, and the delivery is always quick with regular updates. On the very rare occasion I’ve had a non delivery (not happened in at least 2 or 3 years) they have refunded without question. I’m so surprised to read the bad reviews, I felt I had to try & level the balance!

Ali, Ali, Ali… you only see what is shown in the virtual system, LOL.
Absolutely terrible service. I will never use AliExpress again.
I would rather pay more in Europe and have my rights protected!!!
My €20 parcel was lost by GLS.
But of course, Ali, Ali, Ali believes that the parcel was actually delivered!!! But it WAS NOT!!!
I have no money and I have no parcel.
I opened a DISPUTE so that the seller would contact GLS Netherlands and report the problem.
But what did the genius seller do? He simply sent proof of delivery!!!
And what does Ali, Ali, Ali demand from me? That I send the parcel back!!!
HELLO?! I DON’T HAVE THE PARCEL!!!
I asked the seller to contact GLS Netherlands, but of course, apparently they “don’t have time.”
Instead, it is easier to ask me 100 times whether I have the parcel.
!!!!! All you had to do was open an investigation with GLS!!!!!
What is the point of this whole process if nobody is willing to investigate what actually happened?
Never again, AliExpress. Not even if it were free. Stay away from this company, people!
Order no: 3076731992544952 only lamp by lucky not higher price
Edit 20/9
Stop it!!!! Contact the seller!!!! He’s the one who needs to sort this out and claim compensation from GLS, not me!!!! I’m not going to worry about this. Your service has been poor for a long time—you’ve been going downhill. There are other services where I can spend my money; maybe they’ll treat a person better.
Edit 21/9
I don't know what you don't understand!!?? I called GLS three times, and all I heard was "we're sorry," but they just insisted the package was delivered—period—even though I don't have it!!!!! Go ahead and call GLS yourselves; I just don't have the energy for this.
I can't do anything without the lost-package procedure being initiated. Go after the seller; if they don't know English, they shouldn't be selling items on your site.
Do you think I care about the 20 euros I won't get back, or even a package with a stupid bike light?! I just wanted to let people know how your service operates and how you treat customers—that’s all I have to say, because I feel like nothing more than a piece of trash, just a number. Goodbye. I won’t spend another cent on your site; I’ve already deleted my account and won’t be creating a new one.

Poor experience after so many good ones. One item is faulty that I purchased so seller initially offered me a little refund but then decided to replace the item.....all good so far....then, the tracking she gave me showed the item as delivered but no one knows where?! Seller has still not given me the courier and delivery address and it is now 3 days later than when I aske dher. Avoid seller You Out Le Woman Store. She messes you around.
After receiving reply from Ali (below)... No email received yesterday.

An AI - robot? Defect plastic. Only says "hello". "I'm not disputing the amount – NOK 500 is nothing to me. I'm disputing the attitude. Asking a customer to 'prove' a defective product, as if the default assumption is that I'm lying, is not customer service. It's a way of making people give up. I won't. Either you understand your own product, or you're hoping I don't. Neither is my prem to solve."
After nonsense feedback I prefer to boikott Ali!

Would give a zero if I could.
AliExpress is the only company I've ever dealt with that seem to think they're above the law. My parcel was stolen from my front doorstep over night because it was too much effort for the delivery driver to knock or press the doorbell. Several times now I've contacted AliExpress about this, and every single time my appeal has been 'rejected', so I'm being called a liar. Instead, I've been told to check that my neighbours and family members haven't taken the parcel and to get in touch with the courier for 'proof of a missing parcel' in the form of an official document. Since when was this ever a thing when you're parcel has been stolen. AliExpress must be living in some fantasy world making up their own rules as they go along. The contract is with you, AliExpress. Not the courier, not my neighbours, not my family members, not my dog, so stop passing the blame and sort this out. Under Section 29 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I quote:
(1)A sales contract is to be treated as including the following provisions as terms.
(2)The goods remain at the trader's risk until they come into the physical possession of—
(a)the consumer, or
(b)a person identified by the consumer to take possession of the goods.
Stop passing the blame and send me my refund, AliExpress.

A structural flaw in AliExpress's return process — not just my bad luck
I want to share this less as a complaint and more as a heads-up about how the return system is built, because I think it affects anyone doing an international return.
Timeline:
Defective item confirmed (2mm dent on piston rod, documented with photos/video), "Return and Refund" approved
I shipped it back and submitted tracking (CA315000362UA) on time, along with Ukrposhta receipt and customs declaration
One day later, the system demanded "proof of delivery" — despite Ukraine-to-China shipping normally taking 2–5 weeks
Separately, a support agent had told me reimbursement would be reviewed "after warehouse receipt" — implying they expected a normal wait
6 days after submitting tracking, the case was auto-closed: "No refund — insufficient evidence"
I filed an appeal with full documentation and a clear explanation of the timeline contradiction
The appeal was rejected too — citing that the request "exceeded AliExpress's protection period." The same physically impossible timeline that caused the original wrongful closure was used again to deny the appeal.
The problem isn't that a human made a bad call — it's that the automated timeline is mathematically incompatible with real international shipping. Any buyer returning an item internationally would hit the same wall, no matter how carefully they follow instructions.
I lost both the cost of the defective product (~$21.58) and the return shipping fee (777 UAH, ~$18) — despite doing everything AliExpress asked, on time, with full documentation.
I've exhausted the internal appeal process and I'm now pursuing a chargeback through my bank. Wanted to document this clearly in case it helps others recognize the pattern — or helps AliExpress actually fix the logic.
Update 21.09.2026:
Thank you for the response. The return package has reached China customs. I will follow up once it is delivered as instructed by email. Keeping this review updated to help other buyers facing automated dispute closures on international returns.

On a number of occasions (and very much more so in recent times) items have simply not turned up. Because I couldn't provide photographic proof of the items not arriving (which was impossible because how can a photo be taken of something that's not there), my refund request was denied. On no condition (unless you like to gamble) buy electronic components because, all too often, they're fake and Aliexpress won't refund. E.G: I purchased some BU323Z and despite my providing a photo of them breaking down at 150V Aliexpress wouldn't refund me; Some low ESR capacitors are not low ESR; Inverters rated at 2000w shut down at <500v.

Slightly negative reviews regarding misleading product descriptions are instantly removed by an automated process and you are left with a "punishment" where they bizarrely accuse you of self-harm.
They are also heavily reliant on AI product descriptions, so you have little legal standing if the product is incorrect/misleading.

AliExpress customer support is a total scam. Yesterday, their media team replied to me here on Trustpilot, promising to investigate my case and asking for video proof of the defect. I contacted their internal chat immediately, opened a high-priority urgent case (№ 2053808787926546), and provided a public Google Drive video link showing the completely broken magnetic brake system on my fishing reel.Today, their "higher management" blindly closed my case again with a robotic, copy-pasted reply claiming "insufficient evidence"! They didn't even bother to open the Google Drive link that their own team requested! The reel is 100% broken, it creates huge line tangles on every cast, and its real value is ZERO.Returning it via Ukrposhta is impossible because international shipping costs more than the reel itself. AliExpress is forcing me to suffer pure financial loss to protect a scammer seller. I demand a manual review by a real manager and a full refund for Order #3075245857082144 to my card or balance immediately! UPDATE (September 22): Still NO solution! I sent the Google Drive video proof directly to your email (AEbuyerservice) as requested, but your team is completely ignoring me. Case 2053808787926546 is still not resolved. Stop ignoring your customers!

Update: Two days after my post, I received another template response about an escalation and that I need to wait an additional 24 hours! A three-week wait is not enough? This is customer abuse! In the meantime, the seller answered that he would help but then disappeared and stopped responding. After a day, he wrote, "I can't help; it's the system."
‐-----------------
I returned a faulty item on 30 August using AliExpress’s prepaid label. The post office scanned and accepted the parcel. I repeatedly provided proof of return and the tracking number.
For three weeks, I have received copy-paste messages that do not even address what I wrote.
My case was supposedly escalated to senior management at least FIVE times. Every escalation produced the same canned responses. Not one addressed the evidence or resolved the problem.
Then AliExpress closed my case, claiming I had not returned the parcel, despite the proof already submitted.
I have no item and no refund.
This is disgraceful customer service. What is the point of “buyer protection” if proof is ignored and escalation changes nothing? I will never order from AliExpress again.

These people are crooks. I have not received one of my orders. After having submitted the proofs of this non-reception that they asked me to send them, they refused to reimburse me. No explanation given. This website has to be avoided at all cost, except if you like to be robbed by people who ask you, after your damning opinion has been published about them among thousands of the same kind, to give them more details about the problem. As if they care. The answer that you will receive will be an automatic response telling you that they are very sorry, and blah-blah-blah, but that the matter is closed. As is closed my account with them now, for ever. Never again.

My package has taken several months to finally be delivered.
Kept getting messages that due to high demand the item was delayed. But was waiting at both original and local airports. No item is left at the airport for months.
It appears they have huge problems with delivery.
I would think twice about purchasing again as I doubt they could deliver.
21 Sep 2026 AliExpress has requested more information so have sent the order number. Noted this item was ordered July 21 but not delivered till Sept 17.
I finally received the second order which was ordered 01 Aug and finally received 21 Sept.
There are two more items still not delivered 1st ordered 21 July and the second 31 July both have NOT yet been delivered.
Perhaps AliExpress could also look into these but their request for extra information only allows for one order number.
Again I will wait to see what happens

Notice!!! General problem AliExpress is charging You too much Tax for goods to Europe EEC - equal to 25%. €3.75 instead of €3.00.
AliExpress has answered me! And asked me to contact their Service Center?
I’ve contacted AliExpress customer service before their answer, but nothing is happening! That’s typical when dealing with their customer service: lots of polite phrases, and then the help just stops.

This is the latest response I received from AliExpress regarding my order 3074763084437121:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting AliExpress Customer Care. We are committed to providing you with the support you need for your order 3074763084437121.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. I’m sorry that we can’t give a satisfactory solution. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions afterwards.
We sincerely apologize, but we are unable to process your refund request at this time. Upon reviewing the warehouse documentation, we found the product you returned is different with the original item you purchased, which prevents us from approving the return.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us resolve this matter.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
AliExpress Customer Care
And this is exactly the problem: I have repeatedly explained that I returned the correct item and that the packaging shown in their warehouse photographs does not correspond to the packaging in which I sent my return.
Despite this, AliExpress has not opened an investigation with InPost to establish what happened to the parcel. Instead, they simply refuse the refund.
This is completely unacceptable. A serious company should investigate a discrepancy like this instead of simply refusing responsibility.
I strongly do NOT recommend AliExpress. What a disgrace.

I had to pay the return postal fee to China, despite a clear policy that AliExpress writes on their website for free return for first 5 shipments.
Basically, this website is selling low-quality goods for high price without a return policy. Just be careful.

I bought a product from "PACOONE Camp Store" on AliExpress. The item became defective within the legal warranty period. When I contacted the seller to claim my rights, they completely refused to help.PACOONE is hiding behind AliExpress's internal "15-day order protection rule". They deliberately ignore that under European Union law, they are legally required to provide a 2-year statutory warranty (Gewährleistung) on products sold to EU citizens.Their customer service is terrible, uses robotic phrases, and refuses any repair, replacement, or refund. They take your money but completely deny your legal consumer rights once the product breaks.Absolute warning: Do not buy from PACOONE Camp Store if you expect any post-purchase support or respect for consumer laws! I am now forced to escalate this case legally through the European Consumer Centre (ECC).
