Campaign themes

2016

Jacobson's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Jobs and the Economy

The government at any level is capable of doing only one thing effecting jobs. That is they can create enough regulations to stop job growth. The government does not create jobs, it destroys them. I have used the slogan, “Bring commerce back to Commerce City,” as that is where I live. But, in the legislature I want to work to remove any and all regulations, and taxes, that are keeping businesses from coming to all of Colorado and especially Adams County.

Where are the children?

This is not something we should have to ask in a free society. But, it has gotten to the point that we do. I have been in touch through various social media with mothers and fathers, as well as grandparents whose children have been taken by the State of Colorado. Parents are forced to fight to take home their own children. And, as they are fighting, the children are being abused and mistreated by the very entity dedicated to their protection Child Protective Services (CPS). I will do all I can to put an end to these abuses by CPS, and bring those children home.

Education

I recently was speaking with several recent graduates from Adam City High School. Fine young people and all high school graduates. I put one question to them: “Name the three branches of the U.S. Government.” Few of them could. I believe that every high school graduate from Adams County schools, and of course the entire state, should be informed enough to pass the U.S. Citizenship Test. I do not think that is asking too much of our youth and their teachers.[1]
