I am one who would be wholly content living a quiet and peaceable life, raising a family, growing apples, continuing my work, and pouring into my community. Yet I am compelled to run for political office because our state is increasingly embracing ideas that will destroy our way of life if left unanswered.

I address issues head on, respectfully and humbly. I am driven to learn, innovate, and work with others to develop creative and effective solutions.

I am a fighter. When I believe in something - as I do our founding principles - I stand firm. I am tenacious, akin to that slow but constant water drip that wears through even the largest of boulders.

I am committed. I want to see people released to live the good life, to pursue the true, the right, and the beautiful. I believe government was made for man, not man for government, and as a legislator, I will remind the ruling authorities of this.

Most importantly, I am a follower of Christ who strives to love God and love others.
  • Every life is inherently valuable, worthy of protection, and endowed with unalienable rights. These rights include, among others, the right to believe freely, speak freely, own property, and defend oneself.
  • Government has limited authority; it cannot solve every problem. People should be empowered to decide what is best for themselves, as well as what's best for their families, businesses, and communities.
  • Those who govern need to abandon personal agendas and political gamesmanship. They should work to develop principled solutions that will help the people of Colorado thrive.
I am passionate about building a state:

-Committed to good governance under the rule of law; where corrupt actors are replaced by just leaders; where decisions are made with the long-range good of the citizen in mind, not just the results of the next election; where our unalienable rights are upheld.

-Whose people value life; where suicide and abortion are no longer commonplace, and where the elderly, infirm, and disabled are embraced fully into community and not left forgotten in nursing homes.

-Where families are whole and healed; where the right of parents to direct and control the upbringing of their children is protected in every setting, including the classroom and doctor's office; where drugs no longer devastate relationships or steal the hope of our next generation; and where those struggling with mental illness can find healing.

-Where our infrastructure is maintained at a level of excellence; where taxes are stewarded well and often reduced or returned to the taxpayer; where the federal, state, and local governments recognize their jurisdictional limitations and respect the 9th & 10th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

-Where people with a dream can start a business without having to overcome countless barriers to entry and can run that business unburdened by unnecessary regulation and according to their consciences; where rural communities are honored, listened to, and preserved; and where children are taught how to critically think.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Colorado

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of Colorado scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
