Indiana Jones and Doctor Fate in: "Self-Sacrifice!"

When these two last met each other on the blog in STF #4988, Indy was seeking out Dr. Fate's help. It looks like Fate is the one in need of assistance this time around.

Indiana Jones and Doctor Fate

Didn't anyone tell Fate that The Book of Nabu belongs in a museum?  I'll bet that Indy is going to!

Blackhawk and Indiana Jones

The Blackhawks are a DC team that I was not expecting to ever show up in live action.  The Sgt. Rock movie plans seem to me very much underway, however.  I've been hoping that such a project would include other classic DC Comics war stars.  Maybe those heroic pilots have a chance of appearing after all.

Indiana Jones Vs. Enemy Ace

I still haven't checked out the latest Indiana Jones movie.  What I saw did not fill me with confidence and the lackluster reviews have not been encouraging.  Still, I am at least curious about the flashback sequences with a de-aged Harrison Ford, so I'll check it out for that reason once it hits Disney+.

Indiana Jones and Sub-Mariner

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the latest big budget movie this year to underperform.  While it seems to be better regarded than the last Indy outing, I have seen only middling reviews.  I am definitely interested in the opening sequence featuring a de-aged Indiana Jones, though.  I'll have to check it out when it eventually hits Disney+ and see how it sits with me.

Indiana Jones and Challengers of the Unknown

Challenging the unknown sounds like a good description for the adventures that Indiana Jones gets into, so he would probably fit right in with these adventurers.  Of course, the real unknown is whether he can provide audiences with a thrilling adventure as he enters his 80's.  I guess we will all find out soon enough!

Indiana Jones on this cover is from an image by the very talented Jackson Guice.  I was lucky enough to pick up an original page of his several years back:

Indiana Jones meets King Kong

There's been a bootleg trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie floating around, but I'll wait for an official clean copy is released to watch it.  Still, it's receiving positive praise  and Harrison Ford's emotional speech to the audience at D23 about how proud he is of it have me cautiously optimistic.  The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull may not have been well received, but hopefully this final installment will give Indy the proper sendoff that he deserves.

The Bondsmen in: "Operation: Doomfall!"

This cover marks the fifth appearance of The Bondsmen.  Their live action movie was featured in STF #3170, They found themselves in a beastly situation in STF #3050, They had to temporarily replace one of their own in STF #880 and were first introduced in STF #564...

It took a bit of cleaning up of Latveria before I could add in our heroes on this cover.  Here's a peek at the process:

Indiana Jones Vs. Hela

Cat Blanchett's villainous turn in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was one of the redeeming elements of that movie.  I've mentioned before how her turn as Hela made for one of the best MCU villains thus far.  I can only imagine how much fun it would be to pit Jones against Hela.

This isn't the first time Indy has gone after an Asgardian artifact, as we saw in STF #1833...

Metamorpho and Indiana Jones in: "The Orb of Horus!"

Indy is of course referring here to his first outing with Rex Mason in STF #2923...

Reports are that the release of James Mangold's Indiana Jones movie has been pushed back a full year.  That's too bad, I am pretty interested to see how this fifth installment will be pulled off, but it looks like it will be a while before we learn anything more.  I've read that there may be flashback scenes with a de-aged Harrison  Ford, so perhaps the delay will provide enough time to get those effects just right.

Indiana Jones on The Planet of The Apes

It was announced yesterday that in addition to a fifth Indiana Jones movie, a new video game featured the character is in development as well.  There have been games featuring the character over the years, but I haven't played one since the 80's.  I've been revisiting Uncharted recently and I'd love to see similar kinds of gameplay in an Indiana Jones adventure.  They just have to make sure and include some cool action using his whip!

The Bondsmen (The Movie!)

The passing of Sean Connery had many of us revisiting his classic Bond movies.  He still hasn't been topped in the role in my opinion.  It's crazy to think that we will be seeing Michael Keaton and Harrison Ford resuming their iconic roles as Batman and Indiana Jones in the next couple of years.

This cover marks the fourth appearance of The Bondsmen.  They found themselves in a beastly situation in STF #3050, They had to temporarily replace one of their own in STF #880 and were first introduced in STF #564...

The Bondsmen in: "Beast Mode!"

This cover marks the third appearance of The Bondsmen.  They were first introduced in STF #564, and had to temporarily replace one of their own in STF #880... I just realized that Doc Savage is the only member of this team that has not regularly appeared on the big screen.  Why Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hasn't taken a crack at bringing him to the movies, I do not know, it seems it would be a natural fit!

Indiana Jones and Metamorpho

It always seemed to me that Rex Mason was sort of an Indiana Jones-type adventurer before his exposure to the Orb of Ra, so I figured it was only natural that they may know each other in a professional capacity at least.  Like most film projects, production has been pushed back on the next Indiana Jones movie, but it is still a go.  It's going to be interesting to see another director's take on Indy, and how he handles a hero nearing 80 years old.

Snake Plissken and Indiana Jones

I can still remember going over to my friend's house right after he saw Raiders of the Lost Ark when it first came out.  He was raving about how good it was, and told me, "There's more action in the first 10 minutes than in most other complete movies!"  I was a giant Stephen Spielberg fan since seeing Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, so I was already interested, and this  reaction really made me want to see it.  I did soon after, and it did not disappoint. It still has better action than most other movies out there, not to mention the great performances, score, sets and locations.

Indiana Jones and Sgt. Rock

It seems like Stephen Spielberg and Harrison Ford are serious about making one more Indiana Jones movie together.  It will be interesting to see what they come up with, given the fact that Ford is not quite a spry as he once was.  Kingdom of the Crystal Skull definitely had its issues, but there were still enough fun moments for me to enjoy it - which I can honestly say about all of the sequels.  Nothing comes close to Raiders of the Lost Ark, though.  That movie is just about perfect in my eyes.  Will they be able to recapture at least some of that magic?  I hope so.

Indiana Jones and The Human Torch

Are all Human Torches off-limits for Marvel to use in their movies, or is it just Johnny Storm?  We see a Jim Hammond-type robot at the World's Fair in Captain America: The First Avenger after all.  I always kind of preferred the original Torch anyway.  I'd love to see him in full blazing action, maybe in an untold adventure from Cap's WWII years.

The Phantom and Indiana Jones

This is a team up that I can actually see happening.  I can imagine Indiana Jones looking for an artifact in Bengali and getting mixed up in the conflicts of one iteration of the Phantom or another.  Is it too late to get Billy Zane involved with the next Indy flick?

Indiana Jones and Thor

I was pleasantly surprised by the teaser Trailer to Thor: Ragnarok.  I thought that Hela and The Executioner looked great, as did The Hulk in full battle gear.  Even Valkyrie, who I was unsure about, looked great in a fleeting shot with her blue cape and winged horse.  Plus, they finally get Thor in a helmet!  The film looks like a big piece of comic book fun and my interest has certainly grown, so the teaser did its job.

Indiana Jones Vs. Aliens

I have gained a great appreciation for the artwork of Dave Dorman.  His paintings of the characters from Alien, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, DC/Marvel Comics and more always seem to capture their iconic essences perfectly.  He has an amazing knack for likenesses as well as the ability to cinematically frame his scenes.
