Double D & Altenew Collaboration Challenge

Good morning friends~ I'm tickled pink to be joining in on a collaboration challenge with Altenew, along with the entire Double D Challenge design team!  This is truly a challenge you won't want to miss, as there are multiple prizes to be won.  You'll find more details at the end of my post.
The theme for Double D Challenges is "Stencils".

We were generously "gifted" the choice of one of the Build-A-Garden collections to work with, so I chose Build-A-Garden:  Morning Asters.

Each Build-A-Garden collection includes stamps, dies, stencils and a mini blending brush.  I used colors from Altenew's Spring Bouquet Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set to stamp and stencil the flower colors.  I splattered on a bit of the Magenta colored ink over top of the flowers and then die cut them out using the coordinating dies.

I cut the white background using the Mix and Match Frames Die Set to create the focal point, stamping the sentiment in the center and then attaching the flowers over the frame.  This was then mounted to an A2 sized card front with a panel of yellow gingham printed paper, to bring out the yellow in the centers of the flowers.

You can find all the products I've listed below at Altenew

Cosmos ~ DRU Challenge

Hello friends ~ There's a new challenge starting up over at Dies R Us and the theme is "Summer"  What's more beautiful than the flowers that bloom in summer.

I have a card and matching gift tag for your viewing pleasure today!

I started by cutting the pretty Impression Obsession Cosmos flowers out of white cardstock and sponged on some color using Distress Oxide Ink.

I layered the cosmo flowers together and added a touch of Silk Microfine Glitter, randomly to the edges of the flower petals.  I colored the smaller flowers from the Cosmos die set in the same manner, and once they were attached to the card, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower centers.

The birthday sentiments dies are from Spellbinders.

The tag was made using Impression Obsession Plaid Tag die set.  I like having the option of adding the plaid layer to the tag.

Happy Birthday Sunshine! ~ DRU

Hello folks!  I have two great nieces that are enthralled in everything fairy-tale-ish right now.  They love unicorns, fairies and magic wands.

I made today's card for the new Dies R Us challenge, where the theme is "anything goes", featuring Marianne Designs Unicorn.  You can purchase Marianne Designs Dies as well as hundreds of other European dies, during Special Order Events, offered at Dies R Us.

Dies R Us has a number of rainbow dies available in the store.  I colored each strip using Distress Oxide Inks and sponge daubers.  Pair a cloud die with a "Sunshine" word die, and you have the makings of a very magical card!

The Unicorn die can be made as a unicorn or a horse, making this versatile as well.  Some star shaped sequins finish this card of perfectly.

Here is a list of links that will bring you directly to the products listed at Dies R Us:

Magic Mat ~ Scrapbook.com

Hi friends~  I've never written this kind of post before, but this was too amazing not to share.

Do you ever struggle with intricate dies cutting cleanly through your die cutting machine?  I have a few cover plate dies that are so pretty, but they don't get used because this is how they cut.
I ran this die cut through my die cutting machine, with new cutting plateswith shims, several times and this is the result I got every time!
Scrapbook.com released the Magic Mat over a year ago and I'm always hesitant to jump on board just to buy the newest tools because they tend to be a bit pricey.  Hey, it took me almost 2 years before I bought a MISTI!
Well, Scrapbook.com has recently marked the prices way down on the Magic Mat's so I thought I would try one.

They come in several different sizes to fit in different machines.  I bought the Extended Cutting Pad (6x14 1/2") that works with the Sizzix Big Shot.

I'm not joking with you, but this is how it cut after running the die through my machine just one time!

I seriously could not have been more amazed at how well it cut!

I cut a couple of these intricate dies out and made two cards, simply because I wanted to try it again.  I'm totally sold on using the Magic Mat for intricate dies!

You can find all the Magic Mat sizes HERE!

Make sure you scroll down and read the description and details of the Magic Mat to make sure it fits the machine you're using. This is not a sponsored post by Scrapbook.com.  I just wanted to share my honest thoughts about this truly amazing cutting pad.
