Delightful Dahlia's

Helloooo my friends~ I'm popping in today with a quick card to share in the Color Throwdown challenge.

I'm hoping this card counts for the challenge, as the colors are teal, green and white.

but if you look closely in the photo, you'll see splashes of mustard yellow.  So, I took some liberties here and added yellow to the centers of my Dahlia flowers from Papertrey Ink.

I added a bit of color to the petals using Copic markers and popped the layers of the dahlia's using foam dots.  I also added glitter to the flowers to make them sparkle.

The sentiment is from a pack of Foiled Sentiments from Pinkfresh Studio.
I'm pretty pleased with how cheerful this card turned out.

I've linked the products that I used on today's card, below:

There's plenty of time to play along in the challenge over at Color Throwdown.

Circle Illusion 3-D Embossing Folder ~ Spellbinders

Hello friends~  Spellbinders has recently released a new line of 3-D embossing folders and they are fun, fun!  They're made to work with the new Universal Plate System, but I discovered the right sandwich using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur.

For my first card, I embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Circle Illusion Embossing Folder.  I added a sweet slice of pie using Serve A Slice from the Pie Perfection Collection.

Look at the crips detail in the embossing.  I recently learned that if you lightly spray your cardstock before running it through the machine with the embossing folder, that will prevent the cardstock from cracking.

For my second card, I was inspired by the amazingly talented, Yana Smakula.  She recently made a video explaining "Analagous Color Schemes".   I've had a color wheel in my craft room for many months and rarely use it.  I was so intrigued, I just had to give it a try.

The flowers are cut using Petite Floral Potpourri.  The colors I used were Blue-Violet, Violet and Violet-Red.  What an interesting color combination, but I love it!

I also used the 60%, 40%, 20% theory of using color, which she also explained in her video.  You can watch Yana's video by clicking HERE.

For my final card, I turned to fall and one of my favorite die sets from Spellbinders to date.  It was such a joy to work with the Wagon Full of Fall die set again.  Mind you that I'm not rushing through summer!  But it's always good to think ahead.  As an added bonus, this die set is currently marked down to 40% off!

I've linked all the items I used below, for your convenience.  I am always incredibly grateful when you use my shopping links.  Thank you!!

Winter Scene Thank You Card

Good morning everyone!  I'm popping in with a CAS thank you card that hopefully is CAS enough for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge.

I recently posted about this soft, pastel Christmas card that I made, using Papertrey Ink's Winter Village.  I had stamped all of the buildings out using the same pastel colors and this house was left sitting on my desk, so I put it to work on today's card.

I used Spellbinders Fluted Classics Circles to cut the just the lined insert into an A2 sized Neenah Solar White cardstock panel.  Leaving the die in place, I then blended in a bit of Tumbled Glass DOX ink to the center of the circle.

After building the little scene, I added some Stickles Glitter Glue snow drifts and a sentiment cut using Layered Mix & Match Sentiments (also from Spellbinders).  This sentiment set seems to be my new favorite "go-to" set for sentiments.  I like the double layers and the font they used.

I struggle with CAS cards because I always want to keep adding more "stuff"! But I think this card came out sweet and hopefully fits the requirements of a CAS design.

There's still time to play along at the CAS Christmas Card Challenge.

Pastel Winter Greetings

Hello friends ~ I'm popping in today with a card that fits perfectly into the Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge.  They have the sweetest mood board to inspire you and it's right up my vintage loving hearts alley.
So much vintage goodness here!  I was inspired by the soft, pastel colors in each of the tiles above.

I started by making a mini slimline card using Spellbinders Mini Slimline Envelope & Nested Card Creator Dies.  I love all the layering options this die set offers.

I used Winter Village from Papertrey Ink to create the scene, using soft pastels to match the polka-dotted paper in the background, which is from Prima Marketing "Sweet Peppermint".

The sentiment is cut using Spellbinders Layered Mix & Match Sentiments, using gold shimmer cardstock, backed with a soft aqua cardstock.

Here's a list of links to the products I used:

Prima Marketing "Sweet Peppermint" (Currently on sale at Scrapbook Maven)

Be sure to visit the Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge to play along!
ETA:  I've also entered this card into the Four Seasons Challenge where the theme is "Anything Goes".

Giving Thanks with Coffee To Go ~ TSOC

Good morning, there's a new challenge starting up over at The Sisterhood of Crafters and we're "Giving Thanks"!  I've used this challenge as an opportunity to thank those that provide services, such as our news paper delivery guy, the sweet gal at the post office and my hair dresser.

I enjoy making these "To Go" cups using Honeybee Stamps Coffee Gift Card Holder dies.

They're the perfect size for tucking in a gift card.

The pumpkin label is made using a Market Fresh die from Spellbinders called Apple A Day.  The die is great, as it can be used as an apple or a pumpkin or even a peach!  The "For You" stamp and coffee mug are from Stampin' Up!

If you ever needed a Gift Card Holder Die, this is the one!  It comes with everything you need to create adorable gift card holders for any occasion!

Please come visit The Sisterhood of Crafters blog to join in on the fun.

Elegant Heartfelt Thanks ~ Amazing Paper Grace

I've been blessed this month with a wonderful opportunity to work with some new stamps and dies designed by the amazingly talented Becca Feeken, from Spellbinders.  I chose three products from her newest Amazing Paper Grace release to work with and I'm excited to share the first card I made using Heartfelt Thanks Vignette and Petite Floral Potpourri.

The Heartfelt Thanks Vignette Set is perfect for making elegant layered cards, gift boxes, and more in no time! This die set features 7 dies.  I started with the beautiful layered Heartfelt Thanks Vignette die, cutting the frame out of gold sparkle cardstock, and cutting the sentiment portion out of soft, teal blue cardstock.

I layered the frame onto an embossed base using a Blistered Embossing Folder and adding chipboard to the inside oval portion to give it some dimension.

I cut the flowers from the Petite Floral Potpourri set out of white cardstock and added a bit of Squeezed Lemonade DOX ink to the centers of each little flower.  I molded each flower on a soft molding mat using the Stylus Tips for Tool N' One.  The leafy spray is also from the Petite Floral Potpourri set.  I added a bit of Mowed Lawn DOX ink to the leaves and attached them up the left side of the oval and randomly added the flowers, using candy dots for the centers of the flowers.

Here's a list of the products I used, that can be found at Spellbinders:

(There are seven different flower styles included in the Petite Floral Potpourri set, as well as two different leaf choices and three centers for the flowers to choose from.  You'll see more of them in future posts coming up this week.)

I mentioned that I chose three sets from this new release to work with.
Come back tomorrow to see all three products in action!

Thank you so much Spellbinders for this wonderful opportunity to work with your products!

Bee Inspired ~ Giving Thanks ~ Double D

Good morning friends~  There's a new challenge starting up over at Double D Challenges and we want you to "Bee Inspired".

Here's what  I came up with for the challenge:
I used some older sets for today's card, pulling out things that haven't been used in quite some time.

Starting with the Hexagon Cover Plate from PTI.  I cut both solid and printed yellow paper and trimmed off the hexagons I didn't want, to give it the look of random honey comb.  The bees are incredibly old dies from Quickutz and the flowers are from PTI.

Here's the prize that's up for grabs when you play along:

I do hope you'll come join us by clicking here.
