Hi, I'm Gabriel A. Devenyi (@gdevenyi)

🧠 Research Computing Associate β€” Cerebral Imaging Centre, Douglas Mental Health University Institute, McGill University πŸ”¬ Neuroimaging Infrastructure β€’ Reproducible Pipelines β€’ Research HPC πŸ“ MontrΓ©al, QuΓ©bec, Canada Β· @CoBrALab Β· @DouglasNeuroInformatics

🌍 About Me

I build and maintain the computational backbone of a neuroimaging research lab β€” turning messy multi-modal brain-imaging data into reproducible, automated, and scalable analysis. My work sits at the intersection of systems administration, scientific software engineering, and high-performance computing, so researchers spend time on science instead of fighting their tools.

  • πŸ” Building reproducible neuroimaging pipelines and the HPC/workstation infra behind them
  • 🌱 Currently working on local LLM inference and GGUF sizing tooling
  • πŸ‘― Open to collaborating on open, FAIR, reproducible research software
  • πŸ’¬ Ask me about neuroimaging pipelines, Ansible, containers, or Slurm

🧭 Research Focus

  • βš™οΈ Reproducible pipelines β€” versioned, containerized neuroimaging workflows
  • πŸ–₯️ Research HPC β€” Slurm clusters, standalone workstations, storage
  • 🧰 Automation β€” Ansible-driven, one-command lab infrastructure
  • 🧠 Image processing β€” registration, segmentation, atlasing (ANTs, MINC, ITK)
  • πŸ“¦ FAIR data β€” BIDS-organized, portable, share-ready datasets

πŸ§ͺ Active Development Topics

  • One-command neuroimaging workstation/cluster provisioning (Ansible)
  • Native execution of tools inside Apptainer/Singularity containers
  • Local LLM inference sizing β€” memory/perf calculators for GGUF models
  • Reproducible LaTeX toolchains for theses & CVs
  • Subcortical atlas remapping and QC tooling
