Hi, I'm Ike 👋

Technology Executive • Platform & Infrastructure Engineer • Security-Minded Builder

I lead and build reliable systems that strengthen security, improve operations, and create durable foundations for growth.

About Me

I'm a technology executive and hands-on engineering leader focused on infrastructure, security, software delivery, and technical operations.

As Vice President of Technology at Esquire Advertising, I lead the systems and platforms that support the business across network management, security, platform reliability, and digital infrastructure. My work centers on resilience, lower operational friction, and systems that scale.

I don't treat technology leadership as separate from execution. I set direction, but I also build, troubleshoot, automate, and improve the systems behind the work.

What I Do Best

  • Technical leadership with implementation depth — bridging executive ownership and hands-on engineering to make sound, practical decisions.
  • Infrastructure, security, and resilience — hardening environments and turning fragile or high-friction systems into maintainable platforms.
  • Platform and backend engineering — building services, automation, deployment pipelines, data tooling, integrations, and developer infrastructure.
  • Pragmatic problem solving — bringing clarity and stability to complex environments where execution matters more than hype.

Career Snapshot

My background combines executive leadership with founder-style technical ownership. Previous roles include:

  • Chief Technical Officer at Eclatech
  • Information Technology Director at The Circle Group
  • Director of IT and Online Marketing at KorKat
  • Owner of Jessup Web Design

Earlier systems support and technical service work—leading virtualization efforts, managing IT assets, and supporting enterprise operations—shaped my bias toward secure, scalable, and practical systems.

Open-Source & Technical Work

My public work is production-focused and grounded in real infrastructure and platform problems.

  • Infrastructure & systems: Microsoft Graph SMTP relay infrastructure, Docker and Kubernetes deployment paths, OPNsense and Proxmox automation, InfiniBand and low-level networking
  • Developer tooling & platforms: Deno tooling, modular UI systems, backend and data-platform engineering, PostgreSQL gateways, SQL abstraction, and developer workflow improvements
  • Data & integration: analytics and ETL orchestration, DuckDB bindings, enterprise integration patterns, and operational pipelines
  • Standards & libraries: standards-aligned media-format libraries and systems utilities designed for reliability and maintainability

The pattern is consistent: find the friction, understand the system deeply, and build something simpler, safer, and easier to operate.

Technical Focus

Leadership & Operations: technical strategy, infrastructure ownership, security, resilience, operational improvement, and cross-functional execution

Engineering: platform engineering, backend services, systems automation, cloud-native deployment, data integration, and developer experience

Core Technologies: Python, TypeScript, SQL/PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Deno, Linux, Microsoft Graph, Proxmox, and OPNsense

How I Lead

I'm most effective where reliability matters, security cannot be an afterthought, technical debt is slowing execution, and teams need clearer systems and better tooling.

I build systems that are not only technically sound, but also understandable, supportable, and useful to the people who depend on them.

My operating principles are straightforward:

  • choose safe defaults
  • reduce unnecessary complexity
  • improve maintainability over time
  • keep human impact in view

Good technology should help organizations perform better without increasing chaos for the people operating it.

Connect

I build secure, pragmatic systems with a bias toward reliability, operational clarity, and long-term value.
