Project build as part of Hack The North 2019 at the University of Waterloo.
Safeway is an Android application that is aimed towards increasing safety for people while they are out and about. Leveraging the Toronto Police datesets on criminal reports, we aim to provide the following features to users:
- Map out all the criminal data for users to easily understand, analyze and become aware
- Navigation from Point A to Point B by mapping out the safest route based on crime data
- Providing SOS functionality for altering authorities
- Location awareness notifications to warn users if they travel to areas with high crime rates
- Crowd-sourced incident reporting
