Garmin watches vary in how much power they use. This app runs efficiently, but some features use more energy than others. If you want to extend your battery life, consider these settings:
- Limit location updates if you stay in one city.
- Use a watch face that does not update every second.
- Check your watch settings to see if background processes impact battery.
- A Garmin watch compatible with Connect IQ.
- The Garmin Connect mobile app installed on your smartphone.
- An active Bluetooth connection between your watch and your phone.
Sometimes a transfer fails or the app does not launch. Use these steps to fix common issues:
- App not found: Ensure the sync finished. Double-check your watch app menu.
- Incorrect times: Open the watch's GPS settings and start an outdoor activity for a few seconds. This helps the watch find your current location.
- Sync errors: Restart both your phone and your watch. Ensure your Garmin Connect app is on the latest version.
- Display issues: If the font looks off, check that your device firmware is updated via Garmin Express on your computer.

You do not need to be a programmer to use the app, but the open-source nature ensures that community members can contribute to the code over time.
