Lachisean Library

A library catalog with reviews, categories, and admin tooling. Laravel 9 on PHP 8, Blade views, MySQL, Breeze auth. Deliberately boring stack for a college CRUD project, and it holds up well.

Seeded logins are admin@email.com and user@email.com, both with password 12345678. You get 20 users, 7 categories, 25 books, and 10 reviews out of the box. A raw lachisean_library.sql dump sits at the repo root if you would rather import than migrate.

• Paginated catalog, 8 books a page, with rating and review counts.
• Search across title, author, and description, plus category filter buttons generated from the data.
• Book pages with similar recommendations (same title, author, or category), paginated 1 to 5 star reviews with timestamps and edited flags, and inline admin edit and delete.
• Roles through an is_admin flag and Gates. Admins manage books, categories, users, and any review. Owners edit their own reviews.
• Profiles where members manage their reviews, and covers uploaded to disk with a default fallback.

Deleting a book hard-deletes its reviews too, by design. The hosting/ folder is an old shared-hosting bundle you can ignore.
