Zorvik 0.2.1: fixes.
- Variable suggestions (after typing `{{`) no longer run off the window: long examples, such as lorem ipsum text, are cut short.
- Training Bootcamp: where a step asks you to type into a field that doesn't take variables (a port, Tools → Ping, Port check and TLS inspector, environment values, import and mock-from-OpenAPI URLs), the Lab Guide now shows the lab's actual value instead of `{{variable}}`.
- Script timers (`setTimeout`, `setInterval`) on Windows no longer run a few milliseconds early or get skipped.
0.2.1: variable suggestions fit their field, Bootcamp shows lab value… …s, DevHunt badge (#19) ## Variable suggestions no longer run off the window Typing `{{` opens the variable list. Its width followed its widest row, and the lorem ipsum examples (`$randomLoremParagraphs`, …) made it wider than the window. The list is now at most as wide as its field (and never more than 28rem); long examples are cut short with an ellipsis. ## Training Bootcamp: the Lab Guide shows lab values where a field takes no variables Some steps said, for example, "TCP port to `{{target_port}}`", but the Ping tool's port field only takes a number, and lab ports are picked when the lab starts, so a lesson can't name them. - New lesson syntax: `` `{{=name}}` `` shows the lab's value itself, also inside longer code (`` `{{=docs}}/spec.yaml` ``). `` `{{name}}` `` stays a variable chip. Without a running lab, `{{=name}}` shows as the variable. - Used where the learner types into a field that doesn't take variables: Tools → Ping (TCP port) and Port check (custom ports), the TLS inspector's Server, environment values (Dev/Staging), and the import and mock-from-OpenAPI URLs (mock from a spec, capstone). DNS lookup's resolver and every URL bar take variables, so those steps are unchanged. - Documented in `docs/academy.md` and the website's *Writing lessons* page. I chose this over making the Tools fields take variables. That would change the port field's type, the tools' RPC parameters and Port check's guard for hosts that aren't yours (it can't tell whether `{{host}}` is local before the backend resolves it). This fix is a few lines and also covers fields outside Tools. ## Website and README: DevHunt launch - The DevHunt banner script is in the landing page's `<head>`. That script also injects a page-wide CSS reset (Tailwind preflight) that shrank the page's headings to 16px. A small script right after it keeps only the banner's own `.dh-banner` rules. Checked in a browser: headings keep their size and the banner renders. Docs pages don't get the banner, because Starlight's fixed header would cover it. - The DevHunt badge is in the landing page footer and below the README badges. - To remove all of it later, delete the marked block in `docs/pages/src/pages/index.astro` (head and footer) and the README paragraph. ## Version 0.2.1 `npm run set-version -- 0.2.1`, plus a CHANGELOG section. ## Tests - Vitest: `Markdown.test.tsx` covers the `{{=name}}` value, the value inside longer code, the chip, and the fallback without a lab (266 tests pass). - Playwright: a new test checks that the variable list stays inside the URL field. It fails without the fix (1237 > 1179 px). `app.spec.ts` and `academy.spec.ts` pass. - `cargo test -p zorvik-academy`, the academy lab tests for all 7 changed lessons, `cargo fmt --check`, `npm run typecheck`, website build and link check (73 pages, 0 broken). 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) --------- Co-authored-by: sujithappikatla <26196561+sujithappikatla@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Zorvik 0.2.0: test the tools your AI agents use. - MCP testing: connect to any MCP server (Streamable HTTP, HTTP+SSE or a local program over stdio), browse its tools, resources and prompts, call them, and test the answers in the collection runner and in CI. - MCP servers: build one from settings for AI apps and MCP clients, over HTTP or `zorvik serve --stdio`, and watch every call. - A new Training Bootcamp unit, "MCP: tools for AI agents", on why MCP exists and how to call, test and build MCP servers. - Code export in 16 languages, GraphQL subscriptions, a Socket.IO client and server, more auth types, response filters, examples, 170 dynamic variables and Postman's script libraries. - Automatic updates, and many security and reliability fixes from a review of the whole project.
Zorvik 0.1.2 Automatic updates from GitHub Releases (Settings → Updates), the Training Bootcamp course with hands-on labs, the zorvik command line as its own download for CI, and the new website with full docs. AI agents can now build and run mock servers, and imported OpenAPI requests are checked against the spec on every send.
The first public release of Zorvik: one workbench for every wire. - Requests: HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, GraphQL and gRPC, with a timing waterfall and TLS details - Realtime and sockets: WebSocket, Server-Sent Events, TCP, UDP, MQTT and DNS - Postman-compatible scripts and tests, and a collection runner with data files and JUnit reports - Load testing with virtual users or arrival rate, a live dashboard and thresholds - Mock APIs and WebSocket, SSE, TCP, UDP and DNS servers - Network tools, import from Postman, OpenAPI and cURL, and built-in docs - The zorvik command line (run, load, serve) and MCP for AI agents
