Vibrance for Mac

Digital vibrance for macOS - like Digital Vibrance in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Makes colours on your Mac screen richer with one slider in the menu bar.

Steam Deck version: vibrance-deck

Features

  • Menu bar app (drop icon next to Wi-Fi), no Dock icon
  • Slider 0-100% on the NVIDIA scale: 50% = unchanged, 0% = greyscale, 100% = twice as saturated
  • Presets 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 100%, global hotkey ⌃⌥V to toggle
  • Greys, white and black stay the same - only saturation changes
  • Works on top of everything: apps, browser, video, most games
  • Launches at login (can be turned off in the menu); quitting restores normal colours
  • English / Russian interface (follows the system language)

Install

  1. Download Vibrance-mac.zip from Releases and unzip it.
  2. Move Vibrance.app to the Applications folder.
  3. The app is not notarized by Apple, so the first launch is blocked. Open it once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Or run in Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Vibrance.app
  4. A drop icon appears in the menu bar. If it is hidden behind the notch, open Vibrance again from Applications - a settings window will appear.

How it works

Vibrance sends a 3x3 saturation matrix to WindowServer through the same private SkyLight call (SLSSetAccessibilityAdjustments) that macOS uses for its own Color Filters (Accessibility → Display). The matrix is applied at the last stage of the display pipeline, so it affects everything on screen. No system files or colour profiles are changed.

Limitations

  • Uses a private macOS API - a future macOS update may break it.
  • If you enable the system Color Filters, they override Vibrance (same mechanism).
  • Some games running through Wine / CrossOver bypass the system colour filter and are not affected.
  • Requires macOS 13 or later. Tested on macOS 26 (Apple Silicon MacBook).

Vibrance для Mac (RU)

Dock

Или выполни в Терминале: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Vibrance.app
