When there are too many tectonic GitHub releases (for example a lot of component package (e.g., tectonic_xetex_layout, tectonic_bundles, etc.. releases), the actual tectonic `tectonic@` release gets pushed past the default 30 `per_page` limit of the `listReleases` [API](https://docs.github.com/en/rest/releases/releases?apiVersion=2026-03-10#list-releases). Use a hybrid approach: - Try [getLatestRelease API](https://docs.github.com/en/rest/releases/releases?apiVersion=2026-03-10#get-the-latest-release) first - Fallback to a paginated search with [listReleases API](https://docs.github.com/en/rest/releases/releases?apiVersion=2026-03-10#list-releases) with early termination and a `per_page size` of 100 (max)
