macOS - After closing the main window, there's no way to bring it back #65
Under macOS, if a person closes the main window, the music of the game still plays, but there's no way to bring the window back. One can show/hide the Gamepad window with no problem, but the main window remains inaccessible. The only way to fix this is by Command+Q to close the app and open it again, but this loses progress on unsaved files.
Suggestion: if one closes the main window, terminate the app.
Thanks for the report! Fixed for the next release: on macOS, closing the main (TV) window now quits the game, like on Windows and Linux. ⌘W closes it too, from the new Window menu. While you're playing a save file, closing the window or pressing ⌘Q first asks "Quit Wind Waker HD?" with three choices. Quit. Cancel keeps playing. Save State and Quit writes save state slot 1 first, which you can load from the Save States menu next time. On the title screen it quits without asking. Closing the GamePad window still only hides it (⌘G brings it back). If you'd rather never be asked, start the game with WWHD_QUIT_PROMPT=0.
This is in v0.2.8: closing the TV window (its close button or ⌘W) now quits the game, as on Windows and Linux. While a save file is being played it asks first: Quit, Cancel (keep playing) or Save State and Quit. Closing the GamePad window still only hides it (⌘G brings it back). WWHD_QUIT_PROMPT=0 turns the question off. Thanks for the report!
