SkipQ - Self Checkout System

Overview

SkipQ is a self-checkout solution developed as a Final Year Project (FYP) to improve the retail shopping experience. The system enables customers to scan product barcodes, manage a virtual shopping cart, and complete secure online payments using a mobile application, eliminating the need to wait in long checkout queues. Store managers can efficiently manage products and inventory through a dedicated web application, providing a seamless experience for both customers and retailers.

Note: This repository is intended to showcase the project. The source code is not included.

Project Purpose

SkipQ was developed as a Final Year Project to demonstrate the use of modern web, mobile, and cloud technologies in building a scalable self-checkout solution for retail stores. The project focuses on improving customer convenience while reducing checkout waiting times and operational workload.

About

A system for retail stores that will be able to provide their customers the option to self checkout without waiting in slow or long queues for checkout in the retail stores that will save customer’s precious time and will reduce stores labor costs.
